Quote from CyanfunkSuddenly, every vanilla creature ever becomes a fully loaded shotgun to your opponent's crotch.
Quote from ElMikkinoFive Color Control might be possible now. Door to Nothingness as a wincon, anyone?
Quote from DlucksYou say you understand, but you make no mention of Limited. Gates show up on other cards, but that was a nice bonus to the Limited mana fixing.
Quote from sonofstevThink people will actually tutor up the common duals with gatecreeper vine? It doesn't get shocklands.
Quote from onewheelwizzardIn Sealed and Draft environments this is VERY relevant. It allows Selesnya to splash Golgari cards and vice versa. It's definitely a solid fixer. Not constructed playable, though ... Elvish Visionary is just better.
Quote from hamtasticAsking out a girl is like trying to cast a first turn Necropotence. Sometimes the other player will have the Force of Will to say no. You shouldn't let that stop you from trying it.
Quote from LMTRKOmnath doesnt give you infinite Saprolings from a Jade Mage just like a refridgerator doesnt give you infinite milkshakes from your milk.
Quote from TrancebamNo, that's what I understand, but it's also something that signet-like mana fixing could've achieved.
Quote from TheTennesseeFiremanThe name of the next set, "Gatecrash", suddenly has meaning. Cool. I wonder about the story implications of the Gates. Also, Pauper and Limited environments are going to love these lands. There's a good bit of strategy involved with them, and they lead to more exciting and complex midrange games.
Detain is natural and flavorful as a mechanic. It's probably my favorite other than Populate.
Quote from NightstormFirst shocks and now Gates. Set is AWESOME. What is up with Heroes Return? 2cc for 7 life at uncommon
Quote from movexigThat, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.
Quote from SilvosRogueElementalIf that's the color of your urine you should see a doctor.
Quote from ShakesZXWe might actually see a life gain card at constructed level now... when was the last time that happened?
Quote from SniffnoyThe fact that Heroes' Reunion is a reprint -- and, to my knowledge, didn't make any big splash last time around -- suggests that it is not, in fact, constructed level.
(Last time there was in fact constructed-level life gain would be Martyr of Sands, I think. It certainly was, and I can't think of a more recent one, but it's possible there was one and I'm just missing it.)
Quote from luminum canDoes the Soul Sisters deck count? That was more an abuse of lifegain triggers to make huge creatures, but it still counts I think.
