That one is easily explained. Venser knows Teferi and Jhoria, and thus may have access to "slow-water", which slows down aging to a crawl.
They dont have a stock of it just sitting around.Jhoria had to drink it for months to get the effect permanently. And the Tolaria with the slow time water was blown up.Oh and Teferi would be dead of old age seeing as he sacrificed his park during the mending.

They revealed the names and picture of all the guild leaders, even the ones in the 2nd set. So, that is the Ghost Council and it will be used on a new card in Gatecrash.
Awesome. I hope it's not a direct reprint although I wouldn't mind a foil in that new art.

So? There is nothing that prevents them from having bottled enough of it to use both for Teferi and Venser.
Regardless, it is pointless to speculate about it at this time, as it has very little influence if any on the RTR block.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Actually the Alara storyline, where Ajani becomes a planeswalker and later defeats Bolas, takes place 300-400 years after the mending. It why people got pissed when Vesner got a card since storyline wise he should have been dead of old age being that neowalkers arent immortal.
The whole concept of time in Mtg storylines is radically different than ours. They pretty much threw out the concept of time.
Awesome. I hope it's not a direct reprint although I wouldn't mind a foil in that new art.
The M10 rules change made the old Ghost Council of Orzhova quite a bit worse.
I wouldn't mind a new version that's reworded to do what the old one used to...

I have no experience with ravnica but I am deff looking forward to this draft season! I think wizards is doing everything right to build up its player base as of lately. I have been diving deeply into as much rav information as I can. I was curious as to why karoo lands are only common? They seem like they should be uncommon for sure...was it just a completely different environment at that time....or just because they were crap next to the shock lands? I deff could se the shocks being prerelease promos...as others have stated on here...would make perfect sense as to why one would be able to add them to your deck...the only other answer would be the rare guild captains. My lcs owner is freaking out because all of his shocks are about to tank in value...:)
-5 Return to Ravnica packs.
-A Guild pack of your guild with 15 cards of those colors.
-Promo prerelease card (which there will be 5 promos for Return and Gateway Gatecrash, one for each guild.)
-Guild spindown.
-Guild sticker.
-A letter from your guild leader and...
-A Prerelease challenge card.
I am super excited for this pre-release and don't know which guild I'd want to support.
I added some information to what DonStamos said about the guildleaders and made one correction (the new names are copied from MaRo's twitter, so they should be spelled correctly).
EDIT: Removed the part that says that the Ghost Coulcil is now called Obzedat. It turns out that was always their name. Thanks for the correction, Prince Tristan.
Thanks for the update.
I like the idea of a Merfolk leader for the Simic. I also hope Borborygmos turns out a little cooler this time than last time. I've always been a huge RG fan, but was pretty disappointed in the Gruul cards outside of Burning-Tree Shaman and Rumbling Slum. Even those aren't really much more than above-the-curve creatures.
Wreak Havoc for example, compares pretty unfavorably with the other cards in that cycle (Putrefy, etc.) as well as with other RG options that had already been printed, like Decimate and Hull Breach.
If you are basing this on the Speaker (her name eludes me right now) you are making some very grand assumptions. You are assuming she is not the only merfolk on Ravnica. You are saying the very existance of merfolk makes it likely for her to be there. Why? That's a very strange thing to say. Niv Mizzet is a dragon, therefore Nicol Bolas will be there on Ravnica. That's the same line of reasoning.
Bolas as a walker can go anywhere, has access to the Consortium which is based on Ravnica, and wants power at any cost except to himself. If Niz Mizzet is researching life/death magic, that would pique the interest of Bolas right there. Either way, in the third set a focus on "4 colors" would be a turn away from three colors with each guild being allied with a different color that was in part allied with it.

Really though the packs would fly off the shelves...i don't see why wizards doesn't print something like this that wouldn't ruin the format or break anything but would sell like crack rocks on 107th and champagne. Just randomly cracking packs and hitting one of this would be epic. I'm not one to buy alot of packs but I would deff invest in breaking into a couple of these...Maybe even some of the common roo lands in full art would be nice and more reasonable...?

Pretty sure that Savra was the guildleader after she killed half of the Sisters of Stone Death w/ Svogthir. She's certainly responsible for the Golgari's involvement with the Selesnya quietmen.
Savra killed a couple of the Sisters in the novel and ascended to the leadership position. Later on she was killed by Szadek. Her brother Jarad took over after that, and was Guildmaster in the second and third books of the series (although he doesn't make an appearance in the second.)

I got a foil 'Walker! A FOIL 'WALKER! Oh, it's just Tibalt... *Rrrip*
So now we are left to wonder why the boros guildmaster is an angel named Aurelia when the only angel left on the plane after the events of the previous Ravnica cycle was Feather...interesting.
Also, corrected Golgari's guildleader as pointed out by Sunyveil. It turns out that Savra became the guildleader at some point.
Yeah, The Golgari had some serious succession issues.

My bet is Aurelia is a shapeshifter who ursurped the leadership from boros (i.e. Feather) as a part of someone's master plan.

She is seen again at the end of the Guildpact novel, when she emerges just in time to see Kos's death. Her whereabouts during all those years are explained in the Dissension novel, where it is revealed that she is the last surviving of the Boros angels (the rest were killed by Szadek's ghost army). After the events of Dissension, she is named as the Boros Guildmaster.
Is it possible that Feather could have created more Angels in her image, just as all of the Boros Angels were created in Razia's image prior to there almost complete destruction (the exception obviously being Feather).
Also, have we had official confirmation Aurelia and Feather are not one in the same? She could have changed her name from Pierakor az Vinrenn D'rav to whatever Aurelia's full name is.
Too bad about the premium deck series. I liked those. I wanted a White Weenie or Counterspell deck. Oh well.
I was sorry to see this as well. Haven't seen a formal article on WotC site (browsing that site looking for updates is horrific), but if someone can or has linked to the update announcing new commander and discontinuing PDS, would love to read it.
My favorite part of PDS was seeing Foil reprints that otherwise we would never see. Commander is new border but non-foil, duel-decks only have foil as the premier card, and so the chances of some of the cards we saw in PDS (entomb, animate dead, etc) in a standard-legal set as much lower. Maybe they'll consider doing some random-foilness in the commander series.

Nope, I know that Simic also has a new leader, some merfolk. And Jarad is running Golgari now as well. Can't remember who else is new.
