Do people know why they chose which guilds to include in RtR vs Gatecrash?
It's clearly not enemy vs ally. So, I'm curious as to what the theme is.
There were 2 requirements. 1) Colors balanced in each set, 2) Not all ally/enemy pairings in 1 set. This gives 10 possible groupings, which can easily be named as White/Blue/Black/Red/Green + Ally/Enemy with White + Ally being the one used. White + Enemy would have swapped RTR and GTC but kept the guild groupings the same.
Could we possibly see Kiora in Ravnica? We have one promotional picture suggestive of a Boros Gideon, but the others may not necessarily conform to a guild's colors.
I'm really thinking we see Ral Zarek in RtR and Kiora Atua in Gatecrash. Makes too much sense.

Well, the original post says Jace is in RTR, and he's blue. Kiora and Ral are highly speculative as blue as well. That makes 3 blue planeswalkers in the block. Seems like a high number for one specific color. Which, I'd say blue has a high chance of being the best color for at LEAST the next year (which it's already been the best color arguably for a while).
I'm pretty sure we'll see Nissa and Kiora but I'm secretly hoping for Gideon to coax Chandra to Ravnica, not that the Boros guild will tolerate her and vice versa.

Blue has been the best color since alpha. How many non-artifact, non-blue cards are in the power-9:0. Blue is the best there was, is, and ever shall be.

According to power nine, "brown" is the best color, ever was and ever will be.

The Innistrad block had 3 Black Planeswalkers if we count Garruk and Sorin, which I do. It's not out of the realm of possibilities that we could see a B a BR and a BG all in RtR. And for all we know Jace will be BR.

Innistrad arguably had 3 black walkers, so it's not too absurd to conjecture.

I just don't see how Jace is anything but blue. There simply are characters that just seemed to be designed for a mono color. I would fit Chandra into that as well. Jace and Chandra represent their respective colors for what they're known for. I will say it is possible and I won't rule it out but I would find it a little off for Jace to be meddling with red mana.
I really doubt we will see anything other than mono-U Jace. It just seems so out of character for him to be UR. Besides, what will all the blue mages do without their overpowered cards? Blue could never consort with red competitively, red just isnt't good enough without lightning bolt

Blue consorted with Red just fine last time we were on Ravnica thanks to Gigadrowse being a key player in Dragonstorm.
The fact that they've added Merfolk not just to Ravnica,
but specifically to Simic (ie Kiora's colors),
makes Kiora's appearance quite a bit more likely.
It's not 100% guaranteed,
but I will be extremely surprised if she doesn't show up in RTR block now.
If you are basing this on the Speaker (her name eludes me right now) you are making some very grand assumptions. You are assuming she is not the only merfolk on Ravnica. You are saying the very existance of merfolk makes it likely for her to be there. Why? That's a very strange thing to say. Niv Mizzet is a dragon, therefore Nicol Bolas will be there on Ravnica. That's the same line of reasoning.

Mark Rosewater has already confirmed that she's not the only merfolk on Ravnica, and that there will be a story reason for Merfolk suddenly appearing on Ravnica in the years between the first block and this block.

Well, if there had been no Dragons in the first Ravnica block and then suddenly Niv appeared from out of nowhere leading the Izzet guild five years later, then I think it would be completely within reason to assume "Nicol Bolas is behind this".

Was my post really that indecipherable or are some people just having issues with reading comprehension? I was describing a hypothetical situation (notice the word "if") to say that it is perfectly reasonable to assume Kiora is involved in the Merfolk's appearance on Ravnica.

How, pray tell? Neowalkers CANNOT take others with them across the planes. Not one, let alone entire populations. Of course, they CANNOT do such a thing for as long as it doesn't get in the way of merfolk getting shoehorned in.

You're assuming most people understand the lore before they make baseless speculations about it. They don't.

We don't even know for sure yet that the Merfolk weren't on Ravnica all along in hiding. So whether or not a neo-walker could have brought them there is immaterial. And if they are new arrivals, they got there somehow. Speculating that Kiora is involved is not the same thing as saying that she planeswalked them there personally.

It's not "immaterial" , as you say. It is very important. It influences a lot of the background. Why were they hiding? Where were they hiding? Why come out now? Etcetera, etcetera.

No, I'm assuming people pick up on what story adepts tell them. Which they do not, as is made abundantly clear every time a non-core set rolls around.
