I know this is a little off topic but I assume Akroma's memorial means she died at the end of the time spiral block. Anybody know the story surrounding this card?

She "Died" in a fight with Phage and Kamahl. When she died she was fused with Phage and some other guy to create Karona, the embodiment of all magic on Dominaria. When Karona was later defeated she reverted back to Jeska (the girl who became Phage) but Akroma was no where to be found.
So, noone knows if Akroma vanished or is just off in a pocket plane waiting.

This goes to show that Wizards are making the core sets less bland. Last set we had Goblin Piker, a vanilla 2/1 for 1R..Now we have a 2/1 for 1R that also gets +1/+1 if you have a swamp and regenerate. Kudos.
I think we might be ever so spoiled to think a 4/4 for 4 mana isn't at least a decent deal. the trample ability is just gravy.
It's only a 4/4 if you're in green, and green has been getting 4/4s for 4 for many years now. Not just 4/4s, but 4/4s with powerful abilities added on.
2GW
Creature - Elephant (U) G: Trample until end of turn.

Some of those uncommons and rares saw play and some didn't. Trust me, the Elephant isn't spoiling us.
All of those but the Sporesower are rare... and the sporesower was only amazing if you were already playing thallids. For an uncommon a 4/4 for 4 with no drawback is pretty good. These aren't really designed for constructed (where rarity doesn't factor in...) but are amazing in limited.
The elephant is fine. They're pretty solid cards for limited and hell, even kitchen table 60-card casual aggro decks. Which, realistically, make up the largest category of Magic decks being played. The design on these cards is fairly strong. I'm excited to play with them.
Hey kiddo. Newsflash for ya: "lol" and other such abbreviations originated with the internet and only recently spread to text messaging. I bet you think blackberries were named after the handheld device?!
Also, I don't answer to you.
To evaluate Prized Elephant's power level, we can compare it to another green card (yes, the Elephant is a green card... unless you want to evaluate it as a 3/3 vanilla for 3W?) of the same rarity, Sporesower Thallid. Summarizing the cards we get:
Sporesower Thallid - 2GG
Creature (U)
Every third upkeep, put a 1/1 token into play.
4/4
Observed result: Unplayable except in limited and casual Saproling decks.
Prized Elephant - 2GW
Creature (U) G: Trample until end of turn.
4/4
Expected result: Unplayable except in limited and casual.. um... Loxodon decks.
Claiming people are spoiled for not appreciating the Elephant's power level is silly, because it's horrible.
Disclaimer, even though it's been said by 100+ people in the thread, including me more than once: Prized Elephant is a 3/3 with possible extras for 4 mana and is therefore limited playable.

For some reason, this guy thinks rarity isn't a factor when comparing cards. Don't bother feeding the troll.
This is actually quite the neat cycle. It encourages multicolor play for newer players without actually shoving a bunch of multicolor cards in the set. I kinda want them to be core set "staples" now.
And the Memorial reprint is pretty sweet, not gonna lie. Defintely deserving of mythic status.

The red one reminds me of Sedge Troll. I always thought that card had a decent amount of power to it and was the right kind of multicolored for the core set. So Bravo to them. I hope these stick around. Except for the white one which blows as I expect a 4/4 for 4 trampler to to be a resonable green card as it is. I should cost 3.

Nice catch. That was what I thought too when this cycle was spoiled. Nice to see Wizards giving a nod to the past. Totally old-school.
Most of the players today have probably never even seen or heard of a Sedge Troll...lol!
I'll have to look through my box of Revised but if memory serves me correctly, I don't think I ever pulled one. I didn't buy a ton of Revised like I did 4th Ed because I wasn't sure if this game was even going to be around in a year. Nobody did.
I really like the color-ally cycle, though I wish the red one was a little more Sedge Troll junior. As it is the regen cost is way too much in general, but all of them offer good P/T ratios to their costs. Definitely good limited stuff, also a decent stable for casual decks, but yeah, not much else. The flier with activatable lifelink is decent though.
Akroma's Memorial was the card I wanted most from FUS, and back then it was a garbage bin-rare, but was quickly embraced by EDH and "woosh" up it went. I loved it because it won me so many limited games, and I expect it will once again be a killer in limited, especially since black seems pretty strong in M13. Also will help lower the exorbitant price of it for EDH players. I approve.

I think if you can ramp into it, the memorial is pretty great, but what ramp deck has creatures that will actually be really good with its effects? Maybe a midrange deck with decent creatures can use it, but right now, it doesnt fit into any pre-existing decks.
That said, maybe something like the old mythic conscription or eldrazi monument decks could work?

Dare I even say Standard white weenie?

Much appreciated.
This card's price was set entirely by EDH. It will not not see any constructed play and its price will drop drastically after M13 starts circulating.

And?
Also, I can't find your reply to my post several pages ago, so I'll ask again here:
LOL
My opinion is almost always wrong compared to.... what? YOUR opinion?
You could have worded this "I almost always disagree with your opinion".
And several magnitudes more playable than the Elephant. So?
That has been pointed out 100+ times in this thread, including by me.
