Play this, sac Reveillark, draw/gain 4, get back another copy of this and Druid's Familiar, soulbond to the original disciple, sac it, gain/draw 4 and have a 2/1 and the familiar in play.
I really like this card, and I think it is definitely playable as long as Zombies remains a deck. Saccing a Geralf's Messenger to gain 3 life and draw 3 cards? Or even just Gravecrawler.
The lifegain is cool but it's the card draw that really makes it good. Altar's Reap is already played in Zombies, and I think this card is better.
These Bolas wizards sure will be fun to play around with. Momentous Fall gains a lot of playability when shifted into black, and putting it onto a 2/1 body that loves to be recurred definitely has a place.
Sac my Geralf's Messenger, gain 3 life, draw 3 cards and end up with a 4/3 back on the battlefield AND you lose 2 life to boot.
Think this card won't see play either in Zombie or Junk Pod decks? Think again.
And it's a freaking common to boot.
First card in this set that I got THIS excited about.
I don't think this is a common. The common and uncommon slots for Nicol Bolas theme cards are already full and besides that this seems insane at common. Edit: Oops, thought we had a common for Bolas. Still this seems insane at common.
Maybe it's Too early to dismantle my zombie deck!
A good 4 drop that pass the vapor snag test, and maybe now i have a good reason to test undying evil MB.
However i don't think it deserve more than a x2 right now

Okay, finally made him use it again. Effect and mana cost and stuff are correct, and she is indeed a human wizard. And the rarity is rare, not common. Official wording on the effect.
"When Disciple of Bolas enters the battlefield, sacrifice another creature. You gain X life and draw X cards, where X is that creature's power."
Don't have anything else on me at the moment to take a picture, sorry it's so bad. Hopefully someone with the Steam copy can take a screenshot that isn't so awful.
EDIT: And the artist is Slawomir Maniak. Flavor text: "Lord Bolas has shown me how each miserable little life holds untold resources."

Should have known this was too good to be a common. Oh well, the card is still nuts. Now I'm wondering what they're going to soak us for to get this.
Two Words. Birthing Pod.
although could be hilarious with mimic vat - sac it when it comes into play - 3: Draw 2, gain 2 life, use whenever, maybe chump block.
You can only sacrifice another creature, so this doesn't work.
Was really hoping this was just a really good uncommon, instead this is a rare that's easily in the 5-10 dollar range (IMO). The effect is combolicious on so many different fronts, and I think you'll see some janky green/black undying decks featuring this guy at your local FNM.
I see it as a possible Melira Pod target in Modern... although, the 4-drop slot slot in that deck is extremely competitive. However, it is something you won't feel bad podding away and gives excellent value with Persist/Undying creatures.

By all means let's be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains drop out.

Momentous Fall saw minimal play, and I don't see this making any huge waves. Where Momentous Fall gave you ways to react to removal, now you're giving your opponent ways to react to leave you in a bad position. That makes it worse. If they destroy or return your intended sacrifice back to your hand, you used your fourth turn to play out a 2/1.

Momentous Fall was a card out of its time. If that card were to be reprinted in the current standard meta, it would be much better.
Too bad it says to sac another creature. It would've been nice to be able to play him on an empty board just to draw 2 cards and gain 2 life. Still good with undying creatures and Gravecrawlers.

My custom sets:
Caeia Block (Released - Beta)
Generals of Dareth (In Design)
Why would you go mono black? Splashing red for Aristocrat and Conscripts is fairly easy and they help the deck so much.
