Krond looks exactly like Blazing Archon. Hmm I always though that card looks cool. Figures they make the more righteous looking one the crappier one. She gives everybody intimidate and he only has a cool effect when enchanted and has 6 colored mana in his mana cost. bah!
Huh, I wonder why they named the UB one "Night-Clad". Seems to me that "Dusk-Clad" would be more appropriate, since it's actually the opposite of dawn.

Night sounds sexier for them to think that some Magic nerds might get lucky some night playing the Magical drinking game.

I feel like Vela is pretty underpowered and I also don't like that they reference each other in their respective flavor texts. Are we to assume the other two unspoiled legendary creatures are enemies for no reason as well?
And a couple more gold-for-gold's-sake cards. I hate those because they dilute the meaning of what it is to be gold. These could and should have been normal non-gold cards with the same cmc:
Krond the Dawn-Clad 2WWWW
Legendary Creature - Archon
Flying, vigilance
Whenever Krond the Dawn-Clad attacks, if it's enchanted, exile target permanent.
6/6
Vela the Night-Clad 4BB
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Intimidate
Other creatures you control have intimidate.
Whenever Vela the Night-Clad or another creature you control leaves the battlefield, each opponent loses 1 life.
4/4

(Yes, Vela gets a little bit better but so what)
people keep pushing for her to have been straight black and not b/u but you know, that its whenever a creature you control leaves the battlefield, and isn't whenever a creature you control dies, is what makes her blue. to make her straight black and still keep the ability the same makes absolutely no sense.
now, if we were saying that theres no reason for her to be 4/4 and give all your dudes intimidate, thats something else entirely.
because she could've been 2bu, 2/2 and had the leaves play ability and been much more fun. or been something like 4bu and had the intimidate ability and something else. theres no reason to put them bother together.

the main purpose of legendary creatures nowadays if so that people can use them as commanders in edh decks. allowing access to more colours makes them a lot more interesting for edh
there are very few examples of legendary creatures printed recently that are legendary solely for stopping multiple copies (thalia, guardian of thraben and geist of saint-traft being the only examples i can think of)
the fact is that being legendary really is being edh. and edh players want lots of colours, giving them access to better spells
I like Krond, but his cost is atrocious. three green and three white thats just wrong and not cool. How bout 3 colorless and 2green and a white or 2 colorless and two green and two white??
I love both of these Commanders. And that is what they are of course, commanders. I would disagree with Viperesque about Krond.
Lets discuss why Krond is awesome, and begs to be a commander:
1) Dual colored vs Tri Colored. Love this, easier mana base, more elegant decks. Fun twist. Tri Colored commanders and Mono colored commanders are all the rage right now. So I love the love for the Dual Colored cards.
2) Evasion + Vigilance - Really good on a general you expect to be enchanting.
3) Free Karn jab every turn! It could also read "Target opponent must chiggety-check himself before he wrecks himself when Krond attacks".
4) His name is KROND. This is a guy who was named to lead decks into glorious battle.
Beats for the win.

To me, it is like hunting with a bow and arrow, or hunting with a bazooka. One takes more skill, precision and understanding, the other is a bazooka.

Krond will go into my Rafiq enchantress commander deck ASAP, heck that deck will probably allow for a nice overhaul. Considering the way my deck runs, with rafiq, sovereigns and krond, a single attack from Krond would be evasive, keep him untapped, search for and enchant it with Eldrazi Conscription and if done right = GG.
As for Vela, i see tons of potential for using her in esper with already evasive creatures, flicker effects and Venser. Heck her with infinite championing of creatures is mean if you can pull it off.

I don't think that will work. When Krond attacks, he won't have the Eldrazi conscription on him until it's too late for the exile ability to take effect. Still, an eldrazi conscription out of nowhere will hurt someone.

Turn one) Dark Ritual, cast Entomb getting Krond, then Exhume or Animate Dead.
Heroes and Villains Comics and Games
Watch "The Giant Sharkgate Chronicles"
Watch "Eating Made Easy"
You'd probably want Animate Dead (or Necromancy one round later),
as Exhume wouldn't allow Krond's ability to trigger.
Reprint Stasis!

Dance of the Dead is probably your best option; its "pay to untap this creature" drawback will really only apply to Krond for that first untap.
