I really don't like either of these cards functionally much. Krond is so weighty, but he's pretty hefty. He pays off for being enchanted, and the art is fantastic, but I'm not tempted to build around him. Vela isn't strong enough, she pales in comparison to Deathbringer thoctar at the same cmc and Hissing Iguanar/blood artist at lower ones. Making it 2 life per trigger is a big jump, but hey, these cards aren't for standard, are they? I understand she triggers when things get exiled or bounced but I can't help but give a big weighty "meh" for that.
Vela is definitely a build around me type of commander. What people are forgetting in terms of her advantage over stuff like Blood Artist is the fact that she hits every single opponent, not just one. So yes, in a 1v1 match of Commander, she's a pretty poor choice. But in a large multiplayer match? She's a huge political card since she hits everyone.
Krond seems like he wants Uril's spot in a crazy enchantment deck. Eldrazi Conscription on him would be absolutely devastating.

Unlike the cards you compare her to, Vela makes each opponent lose life, not just 1, which is a huge difference in multiplayer (which is the default for both Planechase and Commander). And triggering off of bounce and exile is a much bigger deal than it may seem, as you can dramatically increase the number of times she triggers without having to put your creatures in the graveyard where they're harder to get back. Instead you can simply recast them or let them return from exile when being flickered.
That art... Ohh man I can't wait to see the ninja.
You know, I bet this UB legend is the rumored ninja leader. Think about it:
She gives all of your creatures evasion, which is necessary to reliably use ninjutstu.
Using ninjutsu to bounce a dude wrecks your oppnents' life totals.
Super synergy with ninjas, so I wouldn't hold out for an actual legendary ninja.

Brunal Legend | Hazezon First | Cirrhosis of the Sliver | Animar Planet | The Joy of Pain-ting
SUPER boring.
At least the :symu::symb: legend manages to do something that hasen't been done with a legend yet and it'll certainly help the Ninja deck... but she just isn't all that interesting at all. And the :symg::symw: one... just yawn.
Hopefully they'll get more interesting as the days go.

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"
2/2
Now I understand the point of these preview commanders is for us to use them as commanders in Commander (yo dawg...), but imagine this in Legacy Reanimator:
On the play
T1: swamp, Entomb Krond
T2: land, Animate Dead Krond
T3: swing for 5, exile your opponent's second land
etc.
Other than that, will concur with everyone else above that these seem to be missing a 'wow factor' vs. Maelstrom Wanderer and the commanders released last summer...e.g. Krond seems clunkier than Uril and not as swingy as Bruna. Still looking forward to what other goodies/reprints we'll get though.

Cast this, slap a Shield of the Oversoul on it, watch your opponent scramble to fight back as you start hammering away at there lands and big threats while also maintaining pressure with a indestructible, 7/7, flier with vigilance.
I personally want to run this in a W/G Voltron (Enchantment) deck just because I really do see myself having fun with sort of general.

OR you could just do the exact same thing, but better with a pathrazer of ulamog. And you don't evan have to enchant it to get the removal like you do with Krond.

You beat me to it.
Vela doesn't just hit when things go to the graveyard, she hits when things leave the battlefield. This means Ninjas, "gatting" creatures like the drake, or anything with a sac outlet.
One of the best designed parts of her card is that she also hits when she leaves the battlefield and goes to the command zone.

Vela is cool. Dunny if I'd ever use it, but cool. The other one is interesting, but GGGWWW makes it a lot harder to work with. Maelstrom is still my favorite of the three.
My first impression with the G/W legend was surprise as the art looks like another angel on Archon of Justice blindfolded charge of awesomeness. Then i saw the abilities and all was fine. This is Uril's drinking bud and together they own the field.
Vela is better a potentially unblockable army is nuts also the art feels more unique.
Vela somehow reminds of the original legends from legends, pretty hefty body, huge mana cost, so so ability. There is definitely a combo with her and eldrazi spawn tokens or other sac outlets oh wait... Deadye's blink... Anyway, oh someone already got it you pair her with nether spirit or other returns from the graveyard folks... Anyway, the green white guy reminds more of the shadow moor avatars I am liking him. Regardless these will be interesting pieces in a deck, but the green white guy less a commander more as a pawn in an existing deck.

I like that they threw a legendary archon our way, archons don't get enough love. Which is a shame because they ride FLYING LIONS.
Vela is the better card I think, but I don't like her as much. Makes me more interested to see the other legendaries.
Archon has always been my favourite creature type for this reason, anyone riding flying lions is just awesome, end of discussion.

If you're gonna come at the King, you'd best not miss.
If it weren't for that mana cost on krond, he'd actually be playable because you could splash around. Uril, the Mistalker is just... Better. I still like him though. The lady on the other hand... Sign me up!
I just hope the rest of the cards as well as the decklists are good.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
I hate that we just got Bruna, Light of Alabaster and now Krond who are both Aura based and both pretty boring. Why can't we get a Bant colored enchantment general!?
GW Enchantress is looking pretty nice with our beefy flying friend there. Seriously, all he needs is a Shield of the Oversoul and suddenly he just nukes permanents. That seems PRETTY powerful. The UB girl looks cute as well. I see the connection to ninjas, but she seems a little expensive for that effect, in my opinion. Still, there is probably fun to be had.
Vela somehow reminds of the original legends from legends, pretty hefty body, huge mana cost, so so ability.
This, to me, is actually a plus. I don't know how many people agree with me. I feel though, that after 'FTV: Yesterday', I feel like something they could do to make Legendary Creatures stand out is make them LESS Spikey, not more. Think about Lotus Cobra, Stoneforge Mystic, Snapcaster Mage, Dark Confidant, Vexing Devil; Baneslayer Angel, the Titans; they've got aggressively costed non-Legendary Creatures already. Each of those cards is pretty easy to use in decks of up to 3 colors.
None of the 'Legends' Legends were very splashable, in fact they were nearly all 'build around me or I suck'. I actually like that in a card, if it's trying to stand out and look 1-of-a-kind.
OK so 'Legends' even if you did build around, half of them still sucked But! They've gotten better at coming up with relatively relevant abilities. Someone was complaining earlier that Kronda wasn't Pathrazer of Ulamog. >P No mortal creature should be as good as an Eldrazi anyway. If you've got a creature that has something comparable to Annihilator, that automatically makes it Mythic in my book.
As the only double-triple mana cost creature ever, Kronda's new nickname is officially "Full House". Now I'm going to go build a deck to prove he's a Full House!
I am probably every color-combination it is possible to be, though it's really hard to figure out what it would mean to be 4-colored....it doesn't seem logical to be 4-colored without being 5-colored.
