I <3 every time I see "Then do it again." on a card's reminder text.
I just remember someone saying and I can't help but giggle.
On-topic: looking forward to it, Planechase always seemed neat but I wasn't around when the first batch of sets came out. I wonder if this means there'll be a three-year cycle of Planechase, Archenemy, Commander?
Though I suppose there needs to be room for that Cube thing, and they wouldn't hint at new Commander decks before new Archenemy decks.
I don't always do it, but when I do, I do it again.
I'm real excited for these, mostly because I want to see those new cards! I can't believe we have to wait until June
I am very positive on this announcement. I knew it was coming, but was not positive that it would come in 2012. Great news.
So, there are 4 decks with 21 new cards and 6 new cards (by name) per deck. That basically means 1 of the new cards is in all 4 decks and then each has 5 unique cards. This makes it possible for there to be a Command Tower-esque card.
I'm so happy to see that wizards is taking up a tradition of printing new cards for casual. For The previous summer release of commander, the rarity of new cards was determined by how many decks they appeared in. I wonder if the same thing will happen for these new cards. Most new cards would be rare, considering I've seen people say they think there will only be one card common to all four decks. I know the rarity is arbitrary, but rarity does reflect power level, so I take interest. And I love gold...
New cards? Aaaaawesome, I bet there will be a few blatantly designed for Legacy play, so they can sell the sets in great amounts. Good for them but bad for players who don't care about this format but will need playsets of some impossible to get elsewhere $money$ rares.
I love the idea of new cards not released in sets. I want them to keep doing this. I have money.
Lol. "Hey wizards! Look what I have!" *waves $100 bill* "You want it, right? I'll totally trade it! My M/NM c-note for your..."
Seriously though. I am glad they've decided to revisit planechase. I thought they let it go, but it seems the success of commander has prompted them to give it another go--with a better marketing strategy. Everyone likes new and/or "exclusive" stuff!
I'm a big fan of the oversized cards variants (planes/schemes), but I still hate that they're printing normal cards out of packs. I still haven't afforded playsets of all those from the Commander boxes... Hopefully these ones will be distributed such that if you buy all the boxes, you'll get a playset of each at least.
I wish that Modern had a blurb that let new cards from things like this be legal in it. Just so I could use them in a format that matters =(
I am assuming you meant to post "Matters to me", since as far as formats go, modern is pretty much only above extended and vintage. Legacy and Standard have year round support, of course those are the formats they are going to worry about.

"It's like some kind of Voltron... made of elephants??"
Planechase is a staple at our kitchen table.
the phenomina cards are a nice way to expand and add new fun.
I'm looking forward and will probably end up buying all the decks just for the planechase cards.
Yeah, I'm gonna jump on board here and say that new legend looks freaking awesome, especially as a general. Mass haste, 7/5 body, elemental, tri-color, and TWO cascades... that just seems like party-time.
Okay, so there's a Shandalar plane -- that's all well and good. But for the love of all that is holy would you kindly not forget about Esper this time?
...and Jund, I guess.
This annoucement makes it look less like they forgot and that they "spaced them out." I would bet $.37 that those two will be in here. It's kind of a "why the hell wouldn't they complete the cycle" thing.
One of the interesting things that I hope they complete or work towards completing is the "Force" Elemental Cycle.
They've just reprinted Verdant Force in Graveborn and Magmatic Force and Celestial Force in the Commander decks, so all we need is the Blue Force and Black Force, and making people groan during upkeeps will be even more fun.

Vive, vale. Siquid novisti rectius istis,
candidus inperti; si nil, his utere mecum.
This leads to an interesting question though. If you hit a Bloodbraid Elf while resolving the first cascade, would you resolve the 2nd cascade from Maelstrom Wanderer first before the Cascade of Bloodbraid Elf? I assume it would be the latter, since Bloodbraid Elf would hit the battle field before the 2nd instance of Cascade could resolve and then the Elf's cascade would go on top of the stack...
First off, note that you cascade when you cast the spell, not when it enters the battlefield, so when Bloodbraid resolves is somewhat irrelevant. This is important because, as other people are mentioning, if you copy the Wanderer with Riku, you don't get more cascades; you need to physically cast him again. On the plus side, this means the blue player with all the counters can't just counter your Wanderer to prevent the cascades. Those will happen no matter what, and they'll have to counter each one individually.
So, to really answer your question, this is the step-by-step sequence for casting Wanderer and hitting a Bloodbraid Elf with the first cascade:
1. Cast Wanderer, and put two cascade triggers on the stack (on top of Wanderer, so they resolve first).
2. Top cascade resolves, hitting a bloodbraid elf, which you cast.
3. Put the elf's cascade on the stack. The stack now looks like this, bottom to top: Wanderer, Cascade, Bloodbraid Elf, Cascade.
4. Cascade resolves, finding a spell with cmc 3 or less.
5. Bloodbraid Elf resolves.
6. Cascade resolves, finding a spell with cmc 7 or less.
7. Wanderer resolves.
My first reaction, as I saw a few other people comment, was to put this in my Animar deck. I would play it with either the haste or cascade abilities, but both on one card is irresistible. It will most likely put three counters on Animar, and then I can follow up with a 2-mana huge/huge hasty Apocalypse Hydra. On the same turn. Yes please.
