Quote from MasqueDid they say 'Ninja'?
Now they just need a pirate deck
Quote from fnordI find it hilarious that the most common reaction is some variant of "this looks neat for my EDH deck."
And I think they knew this would happen. The announcement looks to be geared towards an audience that loves EDH but doesn't really care about Planechase.
I think they realized that Planechase 2 wouldn't sell, so they made Commander 1.5 and dressed it up as Planechase 2.

As long as you arent showing images of japanese schoolgirls with the spawn of cthulu doing questionable things, you should be in the clear.
There's a chance to win every battle.
Quote from Kupo SamuraiCool! Cascade is back! I wonder what other old keywords they will put on new cards!? I'm hoping for some crossblock keyword combinations, like in Time Spiral, but I'm not counting on it. After all, the card with Cascade is the Maelstrom Wanderer.
Hmm...I wonder though, if there's a cycle of multi-colored legends, what does that mean!? There are four decks! Isn't five cards make a cycle? Aren't there different terms for less-than-5-card-cycles?!
But well, I wonder if the legends go with the decks?
-I can see Maelstrom Wanderer fitting into Chaos Reigns, after all, Cascade is fairly "chaotic" and the Maelstrom was pretty darn chaotic, wasn't it?
-Night of the Ninja has just gotta have a new Ninja! Preferably with blue and black! If it's anything like Maelstrom wanderer, then the Ninja would be from Kamigawa. HA! New cards set in Kamigawa! Take that Kamigawa haters!
-Primordial Hunger? Come on, primordial! Dinosaurs! There will be a legendary Dinosaur, and they will bring back Dinosaur as a creature type. Lizard, seriously? No.
-Savage Auras, might we get a new Aura related legend? Give your Auras Aura Swap!!
I'm also looking forward to the other new cards, including the Planes and Phenomena. I actually would like a normal card that only works in Planechase. It's just ONE card. Think how many cards are useless in all formats! What's wrong with one card that's only usable in one format, but is pretty darn good in it?
Quote from EntropyI <3 every time I see "Then do it again." on a card's reminder text.
I just remember someone saying and I can't help but giggle.
Quote from Marek14 »See, this is the problem. You simply throw away nonsense too quickly. You do not recognize that nonsense has a time-tested place in game design.
Quote from AEferyammaHey guys, I have a little question: If I use the Wanderer in an Animar EDH, the reducing-cost ability of Animar would make worse the cascade of the elemental, or its CMC is still 8 for the cascade?
She wants a ride on the pony, dude.
Quote from DraxA MAN CAN DREAM AND GET HIS SIMPLE MATHEMATICS WRONG.
Quote from jonnybgood23Pillarfield Ox? The legend returns.
Quote from TheWardenYou had me at "Camel Shaman."
Quote from StoogeslapThis is the closest thing we have to Uno so far in Magic... Reverse!!! Wait, isn't there a "skip a turn" and "draw 4 cards"?
I think I might be able to create a functional Uno game using Magic cards only... use the colors: red, green, black, and white. The color blue is used for Time Stop (skip a turn), Opportunity (draw 4) oooorrrr Ancestral Recall (if you want there to be a draw 3....)(just proxy it up, I know most don't own a Recall, albeit 4 of them, lol), Sleight of Mind (change color) and this guy shrunken down to fit on a Magic single.
Find a spell w/ costs of 1 to 10, then add 4 each of the blue cards, then sleave. If only there was a way to make sleaves w/ a graphic of choice on it... I'd go with Uno card backs (for authenticity sake).
Then shuffle and deal out 7 cards... play until someone yells "Uno!" and Wallah! You have just changed Magic into another game... real cool.
Quote from TobyornotTobyI fear another card like Command Tower that mentions planes specifically. Worst card design ever printed ='(
Quote from Kassow-RossingA neat tip to all readers:
If you dislike Planechase or haven't tried it, this is the funniest way to play with Planechase:
1. Use a EDH Commander decks or perhaps even Gaming Cube og Cube drafting.
2. Play with Planechase using The Blind Eternities Map.
The rules are found here:
This game required quite some space to play but it resolves in the most fun for all players and people will not spend all their turn and mana on trying to planeswalk away because players don't have their own Planechase pile. PM me for questions.
Ps. I love Wizards for printing this set with 32 new planes and 21 new Eternal legal cards.
