so you are basically saying that a situation like this:
- hey look at the new URG card! 5URG
Legendary creature - elemental
Creatures you control have haste.
Cascade, cascade
7/5
- .....this doesn't feel blue. this is red/green
- i forgot to mentions it's called Maelstrom Wanderer, who comes from the maelstrom
- oh wow this change everything! now it's clearly red, green and blue!
is ok but something like:
- hey look at the new UBG ninja!
*insert ninja here*
- PREPOSTEROUS! this is blue/black, absolutely not green!
- i forgot to mention he is "Sippido Dippido, forest ninja", who lives in a forest!
- oh wow this change everything! now he perfectly make sense as blue, black and green!
it's forced...
I'm really hoping the Ninja Legend will be BU rather than UGB.
It's an elemental, bro. I get the feeling that RUG is the embodiment of the "natural" world, and elementals can easily tap into that philosophy. It doesn't necessarily have to do with the maelstrom. Creature type is what I think happened with its colors (not to mention it's a transparent supplement to the RUG commander deck). It's the "ninja" typing that would make green feel wrong on a ninja. (also no other green ninjas yadda yadda)

I don't understand what the problem is to be completely honest. From the other types of g/u/r legends, this one seems exactly the same type of playstyle. It's not massively different from intet, the dreamer other than the hasting. A green ninja would be strange (and I personally doubt it'll happen), but if it happens, so what? Wizards is trying to push the wedge, obviously, and if it takes a bit of flavor rework, why is that so bad?
Heyyy. So I looked at the rulings for ninjutsu and I realized if you give a ninja double strike, it can ninjustsu after the first strike damage step. Think about that... Even though double strike is red, it would be sweet if it was on the ninja legend because it could hit your opponent before it switches.

More wedge color generals are needed thats why he is RUG and 3 colors beter than 2 in Commander. This card is just sooo cool I really hope the others are as good and they come out online promptly!
C'mon, guys, ninjas are totally green! Ninja clans are always, always, always based in forest havens. Magical ninjas have familiars like druids do, and often sport plant/nature-based abilities.
Wood Man from the Mega Man series is totally a ninja! Reptile from Mortal Kombat is a green ninja, opposed to the blue Ninja Sub Zero and the green/red ninja Scorpion!
Wind is the ninja's element, and wind is a green/blue thing in Magic, leaning towards green. Hurricane, Tornado, Corrosive Gale, Windstorm... adding in black, you get "Silent Wind of Doom. Woosh!"

Ummmm... I'm going to stop you right there. Scorpion is an undead revenant back from the grave to avenge his own death. He's Black. Maybe black/red (he's motivated by anger and is pretty much the wild card of the series). Maybe white/black (the justice/vengeance angle he has and the fact that he occasionally acts as a hero), but not green (he breathes fire and is in no way a living being) and always at least partially black.
But reptile is totally green. You got that right.

couldn't be the same for a green ninja? he may be different from the kamigawa ninjas and have something green. i think that a green ninja isn't worse than a green samurai
Irony is, the green samurai is green purely on mechanics color

Any one got any idea when the spoilers start? I think it should be pretty soon since we are like 17 days from its actual release
I would be surprised if we got anything sunday night, but I'm confident that there will be something on the 21st. I hate the waiting too. I am so stoked to play with ninjas for the first time. I hope they don't troll us by having no ninjas in a deck called "night of the ninja," or something stupid like that.

The concept of an at least semi-functional ninja deck is amusing to me; however I have no idea why you guys just such raging [REDACTED] for it having a splash of green other than to just get your hands on more enemy wedges.
Last 'season' was already chock filled with enemy wedge decks, they're not going to do that again so soon otherwise it diminishes the impact and 'specialness' such cards have. If anything it'll be a mixed bag of different color combination's like Planechase 1 and Archenemy.
Let me know when we get a Squirrel themed summer deck and they'll have my full attention and then some.

Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

The legends in casual sets are most definitely designed with EDH in mind. I believe they even said that the legends will tide the EDH players over until the new commander product comes out *soon*.

Yeah, but Legends in casual sets aren't the only ones made with EDH/Commander in mind. Wrexial, the Risen Deep was actually created with EDH in mind.
They need a more in depth storyline to bother making characters first.
Good point... I guess now I should make the comment that they need to go back to the days of Dominara, when everything was related and just about anybody who was anybody had a card! I mean really, they even gave Urza a card (granted he's depowered, but Urza is Urza).
I'm really hoping the Ninja Legend will be BU rather than UGB.

Horde of Notions
It's:
Vigilance - W
Trample - G
Haste - R
play from GY - B
Where's the blue? In the concept. It's a horde of notions, every damn notion is there.
Same for the Maelstrom Wanderer, the U is in the CONCEPT. Or you could just say he used twincast on the cascade if you hate concepts that much.
Also, Progenitus and Fusion Elemental, clearly colorless cards; Karona, Felse God, a R and G card; Child of Alara, a W (or R, depending on the year) card; Genju of the Realm a G card; Sliver Overlord, a GU card...
Color pie mechanics are not everything that matters.

As prompted by certain threads on the forums, I'm now certain that the planeswalkers in DGM will be.... Ral Zarek, Morsel of the Firemind.
