I just wanna know which old planes I have to buy since apparently 2 in each deck will be reprints (they said 8 new planes and 2 new phenoms per deck, and 10 planes per deck)

I would guess spoilers would start the week before, or two weeks before. With only 21 new cards and 8 planes, may only need 1 week to get them all out.

They said that it is a ten card planar deck, not 10 plane cards. The planar deck includes the 2 phenomena as well, so it would end up equaling 10 with no need for reprints.

I'm fine either way, I just wish they'd reprint SOME of the old cards..
I wouldn't say there's no need for reprints (hell I wish they'd reprint all the old planar decks..) its kinda frustrating right now when most of the old planes are going for $4 each and the old decks are running upwards of $40-80 in some circles..
I was just hoping I wouldn't have to shell out for the old planes.

Its per deck the 8 planes are. They didn't include the planes in the "21 new cards" bit.

You can buy most of them off of Ebay for cheaper than four dollars most of the time.
I'm still holding out for a "Planechase: The Complete Package." It's an idea someone in my playgroup proposed where Wizards re-releases every plane (and I guess now phenomena) in one super set.
They wouldn't even have to include the promo planes to make me happy, even though those are the only ones my playgroup don't own as a whole.
Isn't it confirmed that we will see a cycle of five commanders? What makes you assume WGB is the only wedge combination that won't get a commander?
The average player assumes WGB won't get a new Legend because Doran, the Siege Tower makes WGB have one more Legend than any other Wedge Color Combination. And yes, there will be five new Legends, which mean one deck will have two.
Personally, I don't think these will all be Wedge colored though.
I question your reasoning behind posting the same answer I gave just over an hour after I posted the answer. Oh well, it's not a big deal. At least someone is backing me up. lol

No it isn't.The only card we know of is Maelstorm Wanderer. And this isnt a commander product.

We dont know this either. We just know that there will be multicolor legends in it.Theirs only four decks. We could get two legends out of the whole thing for all we know right now.

There are commander elements in planechase 2, aka Insurance in case pc2 sucks, at least you can strip it apart and use them in commander. That's why you see wanderer. Expect there to be cards that match the previous commander products. They may not all be gold but they will be useful.

Are you saying to expect a lot of the same cards or to expect similar cards?

If the commander cards are what sells the sets, why are the most expensive cards in the commander set the legacy playable ones? I think the best insurance for planechase 2 to sell, would be to put cards that people want for their eternal decks in.

Because when a card is good in more than one format, the demand increases significantly as there are more players who can use that card.
I'd rather these have quirky new cards then run into the "oh crap, everyone in legacy wants 4 of these, suddenly the deck costs $60+ and I can't buy it anymore" again.

That is what I was implying. Every one prior, was trying to say that planechase being commander 2 was the selling point for the entire set.

Nope.
Finally, there are brand new cards that are legal in Eternal formats. It's probably worth mentioning that there's a cycle of multicolored Legendary creatures. Like this one!

Use caution with that logic. What your describing with 'quirky new cards' that no one out of commander or PLC players want is a product with a small demand. Small demand equals a product that's not profitable and equals no future versions of said product.
You want the happy medium of something for everyone (flusterstorm, scavenging ooze, etc) so it sells well, but isn't fought over and no price gouging.

Scavenging Ooze is a bit beyond the line of not being fought over/no price gouging, considering he sells for $40 and comes from a product at an MSRP of $40.

Why did I not know that thing was $40?! That alone is incentive for me to go scoop up some more commander decks. Holy crap.

Good luck, all the precons are out of print. Every LGS ive seen has them for $60+, i saw Heavenly Inferno for $90 the other day. If you can find any left at Target or WalMart, scoop them up lol.

MSRP of $30, not $40. But, thats besides the point. I'd bet dollars to donuts we see another printing of scavenging ooze in the planechase sets, and a few more times to drive its price down.

What the...where? Who does this? My LGS still has every deck except Counter Punch (sold out) for $30.

Could be wrong though.
I'd pretty much guarantee it. They said when they printed the EDH decks they wanted the cards in them to be widely available / were trying to avoid cards going for insane prices. They'll be perfectly willing to shoot Ooze's price down, most likely in PC2 and/or Commander 2.

That's lucky, most of them are really hard to get now. If they have Heavenly Inferno for $30, I recommend grabbing it since it's going for $55+ online.
I'm hoping for a Wizards backed iOS app that gives you all the planes and you can just use your iPad/iPhone instead of a big deck of planes. They can randomly generate them with the touch of a button. Seems good.
