Actually my phrasing reminds me of *GASP* Enslave. You do have a good point about the WotC article, but it also suggests him going one way or the other, not both. So maybe UW or UB. UW Mind control would be in a manner that is perceived to be benevolent to the person being controlled by the controller. W would want the person to follow the rules for the good of everyone. B would be mind control for the sole purpose of accomplishing one person's goal. By "He starts using mind magic to enslave people and crush their minds completely" I meant he either turns them into his slaves or crushes their minds and tosses them aside.
I swear I first read it as Wingbonger...something tells me that "As Long as Wingbonger is paired with another creature, both creatures have weed." wouldn't be as good. Seems solid for limited.
Keeping in mind the sixth (is it sixth?) age of Magic themes its blocks after concepts rather than mechanics, I'm guessing RTR will have a heavy multicolor component but it won't be the sole one. Kinda like Scars and artifacts - maybe we'll see a named mechanic that cares about having gold/hybrid cards in play.
Until every block is multicolor, they can't overuse it. Multicolor is the best theme magic has.

RIP Mike McArtor. The Mothership won't be the same.
