IMO, it is fake because the end "magic 2013" . where is "The Gathering"?
He says the game itself is called "Magic 2013." Not too far-fetched, considering it's a concise name that would market relatively well as a video game.
I only watched the video because of everybody saying the voice didn't fit. I can't agree with that one bit. That voice is pretty much spot on for how I'd imagine Bolas speaking.
At first I was gonna say that it was an alternate to 2012, but then Liliana and Ajani showed up. If they make a new version for Liliana and Ajani, that'd be really cool.
I mean think about it, Chandra, Jace, and Garruk all have 3 versions of themselves. Ajani and Liliana only have 2. They might use Memory Adept, Primal Hunter, and Firebrand again in M13 and create a new Ajani and Liliana

I agree. That's just what I imagined Bolas sounding like.
He sounds slightly bored with a hint of cunning and malice. Perfect for a centuries old chessmaster.
His voice needs more Bass. His chest is four times the size of a man, it creates an enormous hollow to resonate in, hence why his voice should be deeper.
Bolas is an enormous dragon, while the personality matched well enough, the human vocal range can't adequately capture the voice of a dragon (insert skyrim joke here) unless you're Michael Clarke Duncan.

Just curious, which book or other supplementary reading material goes that in depth about Bolas' chest cavity? I'd love to read a few chapters on that :rolleyes2:.
I don't think that a truely new Liliana does not necessarily making sense. Imho a reprint of INN-Liliana would be much more suitable, especially due her low cmc. But new Art probably means New Card, right?
New Ajani: Indeed. That old fella Ajani Goldmane got enough reprints allready
Reprinting a Mythic or Rare card only printed 9 months prior is something they're unlikely to do. The only time they did it that I can remember is with Day of Judgment, because they wanted it in the core set, even though it was legal in that Standard format due to Zendikar and M11 being attached at the hip.
It stands a chance that it is indeed for Magic 2013, the absence of Sorin and Gideon could be explained pretty easily (Sorin is still busy with Innistrad and his grudge, Gideon was already defeated by bolas after 2012 ect) which would make room for Liliana and Ajani to return to the the next set/video game
Why do we need a story excuse concerning the core set which has no story?
As far as the game goes, these guys don't even band together. They just get defeated by the player en route to tackling Bolas, which can be done in a piecemeal fashion and basically anywhere.

Bolas used to have a deeper voice, then he took an arrow to the knee.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
Her official pronunciation is "chandra" not "shandra". That's not a big deal, normally, but if this were an official thing, meant to, as the rest of Magic lately has been, attract new players, why would they have the wrong pronunciation for what could be a new player's first encounter with the iconics?

Enter the Eldrazi section 3.
We get a size comparison of Sarkhan and Bolas.

Bet you weren't expecting an answer.
Despite the eye roll, I actually was expecting you to have some sort of genuine source material for that (I'm familiar with your posts enough to know you know your stuff). It's just that I can also imagine the writers using some sort of copout such as "Bolas' real voice could shatter planes and disrupt time and space, so he alters his voice at will." Some exaggerated BS like that lol

That's good stuff. You should write the storyline for the next block.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.

Everyone I've ever seen in several stores calls her "Shandra", so I don't see what you're getting at.

It blows my mind anyone would think this is fake... it's very much in the style of everything they've put out for previous DOTP animations... Besides, people were convinced Jitte was "JEET" for years...

He linked to the official pronunciation, which says her name is supposed to be pronounced Chan-drah Nah-Lahr. Most of my friends pronounce Garruk Gahr-Ruke, even though that's apparently wrong. In an official video, I'd expect the names to use the official pronunciation.

You and me both. Everyone at the Comic Shop (yeah, the shop is ACTUALLY called that) pronounces it with the long u sound. It drives me up the freaking wall.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets bothered by this. It's not Gahr-Ruke. C'mon, people! Whenever I hear that, I correct my friends once in a respectful manner and when they continue saying Gahr-Ruke two seconds later, I just smile and grit my teeth and think, "Idiots."
This definitely seems real. Have you seen the Duels 2012 opening cinematic? Follows the exact same style as that video. I also doubt that this is an alternate Duels 2012 video because wizards wouldn't put in the effort to create that video and not have it played after the game has been released for so long. Also, the Lorwyn 5 probably wouldn't be shown in a Duels 2012 trailer as main characters, because ajani and liliana weren't characters until the first DLC in Duels 2012. Anyways I hope it's real, because that also means there's a possibility of a new Nicol Bolas card in 2013!!!

Listen closely there. Chandra's name gets pronounced "Shandra", pretty clearly.

The first picture of Ajani standing in the sunlight has D. Alexander Gregory's style as well.
Maybe he got a cycle of PWs to draw and they haven't used Lili and Ajani until now? Or more likely he was commissioned to draw the other two.
