I'm going on record right now and stating that before the end of 2012 we will see foil dual lands in booster packs (The real, Alpha dual lands). You can quote me on that.
Sorinroth combines all of the spirits on the plane and fuses them into materia, thereafter using the Ultima Summon to call a meteo from space which happens to land on the Helvault. The ensuing cloud of pure silver-dust debris obscures the moon completely for 100 years, and with the help of the Reverse Vampires everyone throws a huge ragin' party.
But seriously, I doubt the moon blows up. I could be wrong, but yeah. Also, gravity still exists on Innistrad, or the plane would crack in half, so the moon would most likely not be falling randomly to the plane unless some pretty crazy shenanigans happen.
Has Nicol Bolas been implicated yet?
As it stands, it's likely if there are werewolves, they've been form locked as a evolutionary measure against being wiped out.
Makes sense right? Its gotta be something kick ass for the Human/White side. Elite Inquisitor got nothing on this baby. Its got the power of the moon, and completely resists all the monsters (except the White Spirits).

So we will get an equipment that states something like this:
Equipped creature has protection from non-human creatures.
If equipped creature deals combat damage to a non-human creature, destroy that creature.
If equipped creature is non-human, destroy it.
... or some crap like that
Wizards stopped printing powerful (Pre-)Release Promos after Wurmocil Engine.
As it stands, it's likely if there are werewolves, they've been form locked as a evolutionary measure against being wiped out.
My reasoning is magic.
It's true that Bolas so far hasn't had a connection to Innistrad yet. He's probably the one who created the werewolves and zombies forever ago. He also probably wants Griselbrand out of the Helvault, so he subliminally pointed Liliana at Innistrad. He probably also controls Dack Fayden, and sits and plots everything in his fortress in Hueco Mundo.
If Avacyn was created by Sorin, and Griselbrand has some sort of connection to her as many suspect, it's possible that the Mending affected Avacyn as it did Sorin. While it would reason that Avacyn is independent from Sorin once she was created, perhaps not (says Creative). Perhaps she drew much of her power from him. If so, when she felt she was becoming weaker, she used her essence to trap Griselbrand in the Helavault instead of kneeling over and dying.
I suspect the Mending will be worked into this story arc somewhere. I'm sure Nicol Bolas just wants the veil and is waiting for everyone to kill each other. I doubt he'd be interested in Griselbrand unless he knew something Bolas doesn't.
I hope they are still planning on clarifying the curse of the veil.
I don't understand why people are making connections to the moon being destroyed to the fact that no DFC's are in the set. I don't think a silver moon has anything to do with Ludevic's Abomination being hatched, or a bat turning into a vampire, or a chalice transforming, etc. I could be wrong.
This. For werewolves, I kinda have a feeling maybe Garruk does something that traps them in their bestial forms. Not sure about the rest though.
I'm hoping the spear is an equipment. I don't believe we have yet to get an equipment as a prerelease promo. Can't wait to see what either do. Hopefully they are good.
Moonsilver Spear interests me, the name seems to most likely be for a piece of equipment but even if that's not the case it seems very unlikely to be a creature. This is of course by no means unheard of for Prerelease/release promo's(most recently we had Comet Storm in world wake) but it is rare and with the last 7 sets prerelease/release promo's all being creatures I had almost started to think that wizards had decided to stop doing non creature ones.
Well considering they aren't mythics, this shouldn't be surprising. I don't think the names are bad, though the paladin sounds a bit too similar to Puresteel Paladin for my taste and it hasn't been that long between them, but no biggie.
Has paladin on the name, gotta get me dem playsets of him, hope he is useful in at least a remote way, doubt he would be nearly as good as his big bro Mirran Crusader, but one can hope its playable at least

I am still waiting for Wizards to print Silver Sliver. It will, of course, be an uncommon silver-bordered artifact creature.
On a more serious note, I'm virtually 100% sure that the spear will be an artifact, not an instant or sorcery, for the simple reason that permanents tend to feel more splashy and epic than spells. Permanents usually have a lasting effect on the game whereas spells are usually once-off effects. Case in point: of all the mythic rares printed so far, only a grand total of 10 have been instants or sorceries.
Ahh, Mirrodin block was the only one I could think that would have, but at the time I didn't know about prereleases (my LGS wasn't hosting them) and promo cards. Mirrodin was the block I originally stopped on (then started again on about Eldrazi block).
Previous poster got me thinking. I highly doubt it, but maybe its just an artifact, and not equipment. Something like the Sphinx-Bone Wand.

Yeah, I would love to see Garruk get stuck with this sickness and have some kind of power over the Wolves to keep them locked in beast mode. He'd be evil and beastly, and so would they. It won't happen, but it's a neat idea to think about him showing up to fight Lili and her undead with a legion of Werewolves. The PWs have to make a big splash in AVR, because they have not really done a lot yet. Other than Lili resurrecting Mikaeus, I guess.
Avacyn is going to break free of the Helvault, altering the moon's properties and making werewolves and other beasties stuck in their evil forms. Then the Shards of the Helvault are formed into weapons by Avacyn to bestow upon humans that they might hunt the baddies down, since they can no longer hide as humans.
Except that this is what will really happen. Or something like it.
