Meh, agree on all the comments about this not deserving to be Mythic. It's got the Mythic rarity purely because people are going to want lots of this card :(.
Very cool card nonetheless. I love me some Green critters. <3
Dissatisfying and its really not that strong. I'm surprised that its mythic and at least it will see play in pod but pod already sucks. Come on wizards these mythics suck!
I love this card as a pod target, you sac it, get a 6/5 vigilance trample, and a Titan (presumably sun), and grab your Blade Splicer back! 16 Power in one pod activation and an absolutely INSANE amount of card advantage? Yes please.

The second is guaranteed as a T1 deck that is really good, plus its' mana is better. I would choose #2. However, Eminem is correct, comes down to preference. Eminem was not correct, however, for tying Rihanna to the bed and setting the house on fire.
I'm a bit confused by the people dismissing it as "just another Kodoma". Are they forgetting that Kodama of the North Tree saw standard play in tournament winning Ghitu Glare decks in the Kam/Rav era? I'm not sure if this card will see play in the current format or not (it has some serious competition in the high end of green) but that argument just doesn't make any sense.
Agreed, but it's important to not underestimate how relevant shroud and 4 in the ass was during that period of time. This guy is unfortunately going up against sixes that would have been considered beyond absurd at PT Honolulu.
Also, you know, Glare and Yosei, neither of which is around right now.
This is "just" a free 6/5 on the backside of a pod activation. Good, but nothing really game changing especially considering that Pod's problem isn't a lack of utility creatures, it's being a turn or two too slow and generally having an over-reliance on resolving a single card.
This really has no reason being mythic rare. A French vanilla creature, really? Cashgrab much?
You mean like baneslayer angel? And hellkite overlord? Or a reprint like akroma? Yea. French vanilla obviously hasn't been done before for good reason. /Sarcasm. This vorapede is a fun card. Green will love it. Any RUG deck will love it. It is a heck of a hard creature to get around. Finks on steroids ha.
I highly doubt that Tarmogoyf would be mythic if reprinted. It wouldn't wreck most limited formats at rare, and it's a four-of staple rather than a splashy finisher or bomb. That said, I think it would be good for the game to reprint it.
I tend to not want to dismiss a green creature that can come back from the dead.

you can generally tell the easiest road to victory by how many players congregate on it; and the road of counterspells/control has been the freeway of choice in magic for quite some time.

What I find offensive is not that Wizards is endeavoring to make the game more accessible, but the attitudes of elitists who act as though no one of any age should show their face in the Magic public without first having mastery over the complexities of the game.
I use the Duels Of The Planeswalkers layout, though I'm right-handed and keep my deck and GY to the left. I dare you to ask me how tempting it is to hold flying creatures in a floating pattern over the table.
Dies to Dismember... twice! Just Kidding. How insane is this thing? It is great in a Pod deck.
I always tend to cater to the dies to dismember. However I will gladly allow someone to sac 8 life and out 2 cards for a 5 drop. This creature is actually pretty sexy, and I just wish it had haste over vigilance.

Yep. Innistrad's mythics were near perfect. I was liking DKA's too.. until this. A 5/4 with two evergreens and one DKA mechanic is not mythic IMHO. At least you can't splash for it easily...
Sadly this competes with Garruk at the 5cmc slot. And Garruk is usually better.

I knew they wouldn't give Undying a "good" Mythic! I still like it, though. Plenty of big, dumb meat!
You won't be saying that when this big hunk of meat tramples your body then chews out your insides...
My only arguments against this card are that I wish it was 3GG and had haste or some other ability other than vigilance. Vigilance just doesn't do it for me. Other than that, it looks like a tough card.

Well, you could argue for or against Goyf's mythicness, but it wouldn't wreck limited. It wouldn't even get big very fast with the lack of removal, probably zero lands in the graveyard early, and the much slower creatures played in the format. I'd feel safe with Goyf at uncommon for limited. I seriously doubt it hits 4/5 for a few turns after you could could cast Leatherback Baloth in mono green or Wooly Thoctar in Naya. The kind of creatures that wreck limited have evasion, protection, and/or lifelink on a huge body. The other types of things that wreck limited are spells that kill multiple creatures, repeatable token generators, Overrun effects, cheap, easy card advantage at common, and unrestricted Mind Control effects. Goyf has none of those and lacks the blistering speed he can grow in older contstructed formats.
Pod needs to be faster, not slower. This thing is going to have no impact whatsoever on Standard. Like Skaab, this is bulk material outside of casual. Triple green beaters in a UW-dominated Standard? Really?
I love it. Requires a strong commitment to green and rewards with a good defensive and offensive card.
If they kill it on defense it plays better offense. And vice versa.
Not sure if I like it as mythic, but def wouldn't want to see it in limited.
Don't get the 'this isn't mythic' argument. It's a mono G aggressively costed creature with a central set mechanic and a couple of evergreen abilities. That pretty much defines a mono G mythic creature a la Lotus Cobra, Thrun, The Last Troll, Rampaging Baloths, Avenger of Zendikar... the list goes on. This is decidedly less vanilla than Khalni Hydra for example.
I for one am glad this is a mythic because it is highly unbalanced for limited in the same way Devil's Play is. I would hate limited to turn into a 'whoever opens and windmill slams this guy first, wins' type of metagame.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't.
People act like they set out to design Mythics. They don't, they design cards, then have to decide what gets made mythic. So we get unmythic feeling mythics, either out of a lack of mythic feeling cards, and/or out of limited considerations. Its happened before, lets not spend 200 posts dwelling on it over and over again.

It kinda frustrates me that so many people think all mythics should be constructed playable. Not everyone's a competitive player - Wizards knows that, and thus makes cards like this that make Timmys have a nerdgasm.
Plus, it's a giant bug! How can you not love it!

Well considering the original intent of mythic was to put "limited bombs" at that level and not have a lot of actually useful constructed cards at that rarity I don't see the issue at all. I prefer my mythics to be flashy and awful instead of great and required.
I swear I first read it as Wingbonger...something tells me that "As Long as Wingbonger is paired with another creature, both creatures have weed." wouldn't be as good. Seems solid for limited.
Very cool card nonetheless. I love me some Green critters. <3
Although it is the best zenithable 5-drop against control in green right now.

As for Vorapede, though, I don't think it'll see much constructed play outside of this Pod deck people keep hoping for. It's basically Twilight Shepherd 2.0 in green, since green and white are the same color. It gets -1, +1/+0, trades flying for trample, and loses the Gleancrawler-like ability. Big, french vanilla dudes have seen play, but they tend to have haste like Akroma, Angel of Wrath, Spirit of the Night, or Hellkite Overlord or lifelink like Sphinx of the Steel Wind, Exalted Angel, or Baneslayer Angel. It, also, isn't freakishly big like Darksteel Colossus, Blightsteel Colossus, Progenitus, or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.
