Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
The gold iris is a feature exclusive to the Markov line of vampires right? The window behind her also does look similar to the window in Falkenrath Noble . Also, her "magic" seems to be close to a white color so the color of the spark on the end of Sorin's finger could mean nothing.
Sorin look's a bit goofy, but the rest is fantastic!

"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day. You had a bad day once. Am I right? You had a bad day and everything changed" - Joker (Batman: The Killing Joke)
Sorin looks badass. Wouldn't mind getting those sleeves if I ever rebuild my casual vampires. EDIT: I can see where people are coming from, but it's not horrible art at least...
Snake Chick deck box looks sick. Looking forward to seeing what that card does.
The whole not needing to breath, eat or protect ones self from the cold is really being abused by these vampires when it comes to clothing choice...I love it.
The golden irises and black sclera (that's the word someone was looking for) are traits (possibly) unique to Innistradi Vampires. One will notice that all the Vampires have them, including the Markovs and Olivia Voldaren, so it's not limited to any one coven.
So, the second piece is really interesting me. Sorin of course is a vampire, and we can tell by the third piece's eyes that she is most definitely a vamp (also, refer to the clothing style, it matches up a lot from the bits we've seen on the mothership. It fits the clothing that these vamps like to wear), but if we look at the second piece, she's not quite wearing the style of clothing that vamps wear, and though we can't see her eyes to either confirm or deny that she's a vamp, she just doesn't have the mannerism of one. Her clothing's definitely not gothic-lolita inspired, it seems much more ...medieval commoner-ish (obviously tailored to draw a lot of attention from the male audience)
In looking at the second piece, think of what immediately comes to mind in looking at it. For me it's more "this kind of reminds me of that one girl I dated. She was kind of wild". It gives off a mood of wildness, wildness that could easily be unleashed. Looking at the colors of the art, the background's saturated with green, while the girl's clothing is red as well as a light being cast upon her.
Now think of the people of Innistrad. Innistrad's a cold plane, so they make sure that they dress warmly, and with the great deal of religious influence, who (other than vampires) dresses like that? Also, who would feel a link to wild things greatly enough to be able to play around with a rather large snake confidently? The psychology of this art seems to say that this girl goes against the norms. She's a rebel, she's outside of society, and she's close to nature.
I believe that this second piece is a depiction of the werewolf legend that we're pretty much guaranteed for this set. From the Planeswalker's guide to Gavony- "The forest has become particularly dangerous now that the infamous werewolf Skaharra and her Leeraug cohorts have moved to the area." I believe this art is indeed of Skaharra.

I think I love you.
(Not a confirmation. I honestly don't know who this is. I just did my best with what the description called for, and crossed my fingers that it ends up a cool card.)
Also, It's easier to talk about the art when you can see the whole thing.
P.S. feel free to add the image to the top of the thread.

I'm gonna partly disagree with you Viper. Sorin... eh... a bit generic, the middle one just isn't high enough quality for me to make a real determination on, but I frigging love that mat. I've already got the ISD Liliana one, but if you were to hand me one and say "pick one to play on", I don't think I'd be able to pick.
Look back a page, the Artist just gave us the high res version to look at...
seconded. terrible artwork except the sexy snake one. That looks p good.
The playmat is most ridiculous. They pick the absolute worst art to put on those.
Maybe you guys just prefer the old school painterly style over any use of cgi or photoshop that's become popular recently, which is fine, but there is nothing technically wrong with any of these pieces. I like them all. While you can make an argument for the anatomy of the playmat art, the contrast in colors and lighting make it particularly interesting and great to look at on a large mat.

So I can't help but notice that in the Argyle piece, there are no heads to the snakes. And also it may just be "snake." There are no ends to them/it in sight, just various thicknesses throughout the room. For there to be no heads in the composition, i'm pressed to say that "no snake heads" could have been part of the description given to the artist from the art department. And if that's the case, I'm thoroughly intrigued. I mean... you can tell that she is going to have something to do with snakes, but what could it be? Her clothes even mimic patterns in the snake skin.

Yeah, I agree. They kind of fly in the face of the gritty atmosphere ISD created. They're almost too over the top.

This new picture would be the day side, while the one where he is cleaning his sword we got to see for some time ago would be the night side
.. but then again, the Liliana that is sitting on the throne for Innistrad never made it onto a card..
