Also, Honolulu was announced as the first PT of the 2012 season on Feb 8-9th, 1 week after Dark Ascensions' release.
Looks solid, having 2-3 gp's in the same week is pretty interesting to say the least, looking forward to seeing the rest of the schedule unfold! Maybe Western Canada? So I don't have to travel as far
Super excited, Korean and so many Grand Prix's. I'm thoroughly thrilled.

Odds of pulling a JtMS from a WWK pack: 1:80
Odds of pulling any specific rare in 5th Edition: 1:133
So, on average, 1 JtMS every 2.222 boxes or 1 Bird of Paradise every 3.694 boxes. Yeah, I'll take my odds with Mythics, they are easier to get than old rares.

But I'm not that impressed with the GP schedule. It seems to me that the only country that gets a massive boost in number of GPs is the US - we only have three GPs in Europe in that timespan, while the US gets 8. I think there are almost as many players in Europe as in the US, so I find this a little unfair

Yes! A Mexican GP! It's been almost 10 years since the last time we had one.
A new element of this expanded Grand Prix schedule is a flexible prize payout by event. Grand Prix will now offer between $10,000 and $40,000 in prize money, with the possibility that some events offer cash-equivalent prizes.
This part bothers me. Nobody actually likes cash-equivalent prizes.

Time to bring back a 5-year old sig banner. DEDICATION!
Hell yeah! Two events within a reasonable travel time for me... I'll be judging Seattle & Salt Lake if I don't earn three byes by then. Very stoked to have a chance at a big event, either way.
When that says "Lincoln, USA," is that Lincoln, CA. USA?
This seems incredibly unlikely. There are a ton of venues in CA that they could use, why would they ever choose Lincoln. I think it is a reasonable conclusion that they meant Lincoln, NE.
Slightly off topic, but I thought this was an interesting snippet:
Formats to be featured at Grand Prix include Standard, Sealed Deck/Booster Draft, Legacy, Extended, and Modern.
Looks like Wizards isn't quite ready to give up on Extended yet. I'm not surprised since Modern hasn't proven itself yet, but I think it's still interesting to see it confirmed.
About how long will it be until he PTQ schedule for Honolulu is released? I don't have the cards to play very many formats right now so limited PTQs sound awesome.
Oh hell yeah! Was just talking to the wife about if a GP came back to Texas how I want to sign me and my son up. Granted some people might look down on playing a 10 year old there but he tries his best and could surprise people. But just the experience of it and being able to share it with him.
Now to hope its standard with maybe a draft mixed in. Never done one before and not sure how they work.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
Really wish there was something a little closer to Minneapolis, we haven't had one in a few years, and I really wanna redeem myself after scrubbing out of draft day...Maybe a road trip to Nebraska is in order? If the wife lets me...I'm pumped for a new year of far too many big magic tournies.

Some countries don't allow pay ins with cash prizes because it is considered gambling. They have to give product for that reason.

In all likeliness it's Lincoln, NE, where we have all these types of events here in Nebraska.
