But he looks like he COULD be aggressive. He looks like he's smirking because he just WANTS one of these mortals to get in his way so he can rend them asunder.

Currently Getting Back into the swing of MTGS. Bear with me folks~
Wait... so Frankenstein was a zombie? Hmm... I thought he was more of a homunculus. Still pretty good card for zombie tribal decks.
Frankenstein was a scientist. His monster was a construct made of human cadavers stitched together along with whatever animal parts he needed to fill in the gaps.
Would you like some popcorn with all that salt?
It's a fun flavorful card, not absolutely every single mythic, rare, uncommon, and common needs to be a bomb.
well the problem is that 1/4 of the sets been spoiled and there havent been any bombs at all
What I like about the noble is that, unlike slith firewalker, he doesn't take your mana on turn 2. Even if they have a non-human blocker, you could blast it with a searing blaze then get in for some beats with the vampire. It gets progressively harder to stop the more it gets in and might give red some extra reach.
Glad I'm not the only one who was thinking building a Thraximundar EDH moment I saw Rooftop Storm.. Zombie Tribal does sound super cute actually... Just wished there was a WUB zombie to run some of the cute stuff...
..that's about it for Standard currently, but there will definately be some playable Humans in Innistrad, I hope.
And as for the enchantment..I love it..being able to hit 6 mana and absolutely dump your hand and keep up mana after tossing out future Zombies? Seems pretty nice actually, although it's a do-nothing in multiples.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
Given up magic because a)its a waste of money b)it sucks the joy out of life c)im doing more interesting things than tapping pieces of plastic that have no intrinsic value.
I encourage you to do the same. Instead of FNM try Friday Night Something Spontaneous. Instead of thousands of hours and dollars on plastic imagine it with a significant other or friends sharing something meaningful. I randomly typed a new password, so bon voyage itches i encourage you to follow suit! Cheers
Stormkirk is just....not special. If he had haste it'd be worth talking about, but I just don't see how he is going to be a force as a loving Mono-red player. It's not even close to comparable in power level to the likes of Goblin Guide, Steppe Lynx, Wild Nacatl or even Kird Ape. It's slow, not that powerful, not that evasive, nets no value if it dies upon playing it and is a terrible top deck. While it's hard to know what cards will be played with him in Standard, what decks can't deal with him?
Obviously there is no true way to evaluate him until the rest of Innistrad is released, and Wizards wouldn't seemingly give the Top Decks column a non-Constructed playable card. But just from first impressions, this card seems like it would need a major powering down of the format to be good in Mono-Red, a new type of Vampire deck to abuse him, or a huge presence of humans in creature decks.
Rooftop Storm... kinda nice. Not sure how Standard will cheat this into play. Although legacy has Academy Rector... i think this thing is just plain EDH fodder [F you EDH].
The Noble is a slight improvement over the Sliths, having evasion and comes out a turn earlier. However, it may be at just the level of the red slith, having lost haste and all.
Rooftop is mad scientist level crazy and a Jhonny card obviously.
Rooftop Storm is actually extremely nice in any casual setting. Ultra powerful with stuff like Evacuation, Soulquake, Cloudstone Curio, etc.
The Vampire is a solid 1 CMC card for RDW. Gets bigger and carries equipment like a boss. Other than that, "Good in RDW" is generally worse praise than "Good in EDH".
Rooftop Storm makes me want to build a Thraximundar EDH deck. That wording makes the commander tax free too, since the tax is part of the "mana cost", right?
No. The general tax doesn't touch the mana cost. It's an additional cost. Still, casting Thrax for just the general tax is still an amazing deal.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
Guys...Phage has been a Zombie for at least a few years now...this is not news
The Enchantment seems interesting, but really no way to power it out early in anything other than casual. Vampire is another underwhelming 1cc card that will never get as big as people expect (Scute Mob, Bloodhall Ooze, etc).
Wait... so Frankenstein was a zombie? Hmm... I thought he was more of a homunculus. Still pretty good card for zombie tribal decks.
Homunculus have always been tiny little servants in magic, also with one eye. Frankenstein's monster (not Frankenstein btw) was made of dead human body parts.
I actually think that Rooftop Storm will be amazing. There are some really high-power zombie finishers that you can now cheat into play with counterspell backup.
I expect this to be great in UB control.

You do realize those cards u listed are Legacy or Modern playables if you arguement against him is that he won't be used in a Legacy Zoo deck I don't no how to please u.
This card is great for a fast opening. No he isn't Goblin Guide but after one or two attacks he can really start to grow and be a serious problem for slower decks if they can't find removal or certain creature based decks if they let him get too big

Stormkirk Noble.... not sure. At least it can attack through Grim Lavamancer and Stormblood Berserker?

I agree too. While I'm kind of disappointed by the lack of exciting cards, I think it's better for the overall health and longevity of the game.

Yeah, it feels like old sets or Lorwyn. Some good decks will come out of it, and SoM/Innistrad Standard will be siiiiiiick.
