If you realistically think, "ok, when it hits the field it will be 3x the Lacerator in p/t majority of the game." you can assume it's better than it. what about cost though? "one B?!?!? no f!@#ing wey." This is where you should replace those lacerators with a death's shadow.
Rooftop Storm made me extremely happy. When I saw it I actually burst out in mad laughter. I'm usually a bit indifferent towards janky cards like that, but this mad experiment is just begging to be abused in my Thraximundar deck.
I mean, it costs 6, sure, but Thrax costs 7 (or 9, 11 and so fort). This alone makes it worth playing, at least for a little while!

From the mind of Raymond Swanland: Valla, a plane made entirely out of brownish spikes.
To anyone who wants to build that BUx Zombie deck to abuse the enchantment: Null Profusion just found a best friend. Add Cloudstone Curio for infinite storm.
As an avid RDW player in both Standard and Legacy I can safely say that Stromkirk Noble is... well... not that impressive. He's good, but I'd still rather have Goblin Guide, Jackal Pup, or even Tattermunge Maniac. If he started out as a 2/1 he'd be nuts, but starting as a 1/1 makes him not all that impressive. To be most effective a red deck wants to start the game with some kind of 2 power dude in play.
Although, perhaps he could work in some kind of Modern format Vampires deck
Regarding Rooftop Storm, it seems... exploitable. Very high costed, but highly exploitable

Wow the Stromkirk Noble is very flavorful I love it. The art, the flavor text, and the abilities are very well done. For standard play I can see him being viable but late game or as a top deck not so much, but red decks never like going into the late game anyway . I mean even memnite can stop him unless you burn removal, but I hope this card gets played because it's just so cool.
Rooftop Storm, again another flavorful card this set is just full of flavor. For standard I don't think it will ever see play. Because before you cast this enchantment you probably played all your zombies by that time. Could be good for EDH though.

Combine the Noble with a Wooden Stake in limited for a rather disappointed opponent. "So, I can't block with my humans. I CAN block with my werewolves, but they'll die right away, and same with my vampires. I guess you get in for three this time?"
Lol @ the people saying no good cards have been spoiled. Not only will the format be different in ways we can't really predict, but there have been a ton of good cards spoiled already. I'd start at Liliana, and if you can't figure out why she's good, work backwards from there. Stromkirk is already on the level of Slith Firewalker, but then gets a blocking restriction for the opponent on top of that. Do you really need to be told that a 1/1 for 1 that gets bigger every time he hits is good?

Day of days! My training is complete, and now I am on the trail of that most unholy of abominations — Vampire. The one I hunt is clever, there is no doubt. But I have faith on my side! Dearest Lorelei,
It has been a harrowing journey, to be sure. Erdwald is so much
bigger than Hanweir! I fear my life has ill prepared me for such a
place as this.
I've been relieved of my meager kit by a gang of footpads that greeted
me at the town's gates, saying they were "inspectors." They were out
of sight before I realized they had fled with all I brought, save the
clothes on my back.
Fear not my love! For adversity is the soil in which opportunity
sprouts. I have taken in with the church, and they have greeted me
with open arms! A priest has given me food and shelter, and only asks
me to perform menial tasks in the upkeep of the church yards. It is a
job I am all too well suited for!
Yet Avacyn has a plan, even for me! My priest has also been
instructing me in the art of vampire hunting. I know it sounds
dangerous, and it is, but you can be assured that when I return, you
can hold your head up high as we march through the town in our wedding
procession!
I don't have my copy of Judgment or Onslaught with me but I do distinctly remember Braids performing some sort of necromantic ritual on Jeska. I can't recall whether actual death was involved or not, though.

I for one love the theme the art and the card are good as long as WoTC keeps them this way for a while and continue the De-Creep as someone else mentioned it will be fine.
The Vamp has a chance to be awesome in limited and has a place in RDW Lets be honest people 1 drop limited evasion and can grow where is that not good ?????
The enchantment is expensive but if you can get it to work it would be awesome.
We have gotten to used to Titans, BaneSlayers,Eldrazi, and all the others brokeness of late guys we have to real it in.

That is not dead,
Which can eternal lie,
Yet with strange eons,
Even death may die.

That is the point we are making, she WASN'T brought back from the dead, she was dying and was brought to Krosa by Khamal in order for her to receive healing from Seton, when Seton fails, he gives her to braids, who claims she can heal her. Apparently the wound is transformed by dementia magic to make her similar to the Cabal Patriarch, who has the same ability to kill with a touch as Phage did in the books. She claims Jeska is dead but it's only symbolically.
You do realize those cards u listed are Legacy or Modern playables if you arguement against him is that he won't be used in a Legacy Zoo deck I don't no how to please u.
This card is great for a fast opening. No he isn't Goblin Guide but after one or two attacks he can really start to grow and be a serious problem for slower decks if they can't find removal or certain creature based decks if they let him get too big
3 of those cards were also in Standard in the last year, sure they're eternal format playable but that doesn't mean they haven't existed in smaller formats at some time. How is this guy better than a card that is already barely played, Furnace Scamp. If Scamp gets in once, it does 4 damage. This guy does 1, then 3 damage before finally netting 6 by turn 4. That is nowhere near fast enough over the first 3 turns especially. Sure it's good if you can keep it unchecked, but it is easily removed and again, very slow.
A Tempered Steel deck can block it, remove it, or simply ignore it and outrace you. Birthing Pod decks have plenty of defensive creatures and go way bigger. It's hard to know what control decks will look like, but there are plenty of efficient removal spells and sweepers to deal with him. I guess you can argue he's good against Puresteel decks...
As I added to my post later, we could get some other Vampires or Mono-Red cards that play very well with him and make him much better. But thinking of him solely with the cards we know will exist in Standard come October, this is hardly an impressive card.
I don't have my copy of Judgment or Onslaught with me but I do distinctly remember Braids performing some sort of necromantic ritual on Jeska. I can't recall whether actual death was involved or not, though.
From the Wiki:
The Patriarch's attempt to destroy Jeska, instead gave birth to Phage the Untouchable through the unique combination of Jeska's planeswalker spark, The Patriarch's killing touch, and the intervention of the Numena Kuberr. Jeska was cursed so that anything she touched would rot and because of this, the only fabric that she could touch was silk, and she could only touch inorganic items like stone and steel.
It would seem Jeska was less dead than cursed.
Either way, as long as she's a Zombie, I'm running her with Rooftop Storm FTW!
The Noble is cool, I think it'll see some use. As it stands there are lots of humans in the current meta and even from what little we've seen, they'll be played lots post rotation too.
People are pretty much right about the enchantment... Thraximundar blah blah. We shouldn't be too quick to judge since we've only seen one common zombie drake though.
Not the greatest previews, but the flavor of both cards is awesome, if nothing else

P.S. Stormkirk Noble is probably quite a bit better than Whirling Dervish, but I like the Dervish so much I feel obligated to mention it.
P.P.S. Casting Chameleon Colossus and Nameless Inversion for 0 sounds fun.

No, she is not.
Jeska never died.
Why? I'd be tempted to join in the cry.

If she died, she would be dead (or undead). You don't get your spark back once you're dead.
Seeing as she's still alive and a planeswalker, she didn't die.
