Anyone else notice how much the fancy Vampire looks like Lord of the Unreal? Seriously, look at them. LotU's widow's peak isn't as Vegeta-esque, but they still look very similar to me. I know Jason Chan did both, but still.
haha there's no way they'd reprint sinkhole, especially with smallpox already in the format . . . that would be super annoying
People also said there was no way double sided cards could be something...I am not saying it has to be sinkhole but thats what my mind goes to when I saw that art.
I'm so psyched for this set. Particularly the angels and werewolves. Speaking of which, is it just me or are all the werewolves springing into some sort of action?

I just know that MtG would at least involve a regular angel on this set (FTV: Angels! FCOL MTG... ) and it doesn't seem to be Avacyn, but one of her subjects... she doesn't seem to look that like awe inducing to those people around her.
As for the whole art of this set, well Jarvis keep on doing that art directing work and finding and giving jobs to these great artists you keep on finding. I MEAN GOT DAM!

The crazy awesome looking angel and that sword are getting me into digging this set so much! I don't care if they're terrible, I'm grabbing as many as possible!
(Also, I second an angelic playmat with the avenger angel.)
The sword is obviously a Vorpal sword. Which means we have Jabberwockies....
Which in all seriousness, the Jabberwocky in that 1985 live-action Alice in Wonderland scared the crap out of me when I was little
If your talking about the movie I think you are, that movie was awesome and Jabberwocky was scray as all Hell
OT. The Howard Lyon angel pic one of most beautiful and sad things I have ever seen. I think the angel in the stain glass window, the one by Ryan Yee is Avacyn.
(Realized that pic wasn't posted here, but is on the Arcana 9th down bewteen the demon and the warrior angel.)
The guy under the doll looks like a nice city guard.
And that is one SEXY vampire.

As for the zombies under stained glass.... awesome. The contradiction is beautiful.
The angel is also so damn pretty..... Jason Chan certainly knows how to draw beautifulangels. And seeing that positioning, I assume this will the the White Knight to the vampire's Black Knight?
Garruk certainly looks hurt.

On a second thought..... Garruk, the flipping planeswalker?
The vampire countess is beautiful..... too bad about her legs positioning though. I'd certainly prefer that she lift one knee...
That Ophelia art is my favorite of the bunch, hands down.
The colors are wonderful, the lighting is extremely exquisite... I love the subtle contrasts in the highlights, and the desaturated background, with dramatic shadows... The skillful framing of the subject matter, using the plants and the mist... The off-center placement of the focal point, leaving the impression that the image was stumbled upon, rather than staged.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Yes, that one, where the Jabberwocky explodes out of a present to terrorize one and all! And the worst is, I hadn't been born when it came out, so I saw a VHS recording off the TV.... so it's that grainy film too.
You know, I'm not much into desecration of holy sites and all, but that swamp swallowing up the church, SWEET!!!
