Guys, look at the evidence, he's walking more upright, AND he learned to dress himself, obviously the new Garruk is UG
Of course I'm only joking. Sorry, I couldn't resist. If it's any consolation, I hope its BG, I really truly do, but I just dont think it is. Garruk and his beloved beasts are suffering at the hands of black magic right now, the last thing I would expect is for him to say "Oh hey this is neat." There is a big difference between being afflicted by something and applying oneself to wield it. And yes, he was cursed, but when in Magic has casting a black aura on something made that permanent black? (which, I assume, would be the in-game equivalent to what Lilianna did to him) Yes of course there are auras with that functionality but only as a direct effect of that card itself and not of the aura subtype as a whole, they are the exceptions rather than the rule. In addition, it seems odd to me to structure Innistrad around the allied colors with the tribes and then print a seemingly (to me at least) out of place enemy colored walker, although I will admit that it is possible. And I dont expect him to be G/W since, if the whole theory of the other Garruk being the prerelease promo art is true, the colors would need to make sense for both arts. (Unless it turned out to be something like Garruk, the Avenger, then the look on his face in the second art could conceivably be righteous anger instead of just rage) If anything, Garruk seems G/R to me, yes both arts. Yes the art and backgrounds are very dark and have a distinctly black feel, but bear in mind that Innistrad in itself has a very distinctly evil feel. Mickey Mouse would look like the spawn of Satan if we put him in Rakdos Carnarium, just like Lilliana Vess herself might appear white to us if we saw her emerging from Cinderella's Castle. If you ask me, the darker tone is just relative to the tone of the environment as a whole, regardless of color.

"It appears that RED DECK doesn't always WIN." -Some random guy at my local tourney.
Oh my god, this picture is hilarious. What the heck is up with Garruk? He looks like he stole The Fonz's leather jacket and is rocking out on his axe (Get it? :B). Someone totally needs to shop this into a concert poster for "Garruk and the Neo Walkers" or something.

Something like this
only done on paint so it doesn't look that great.
I still think GB makes sense. We don't really know of the developments between the last Garruk web-comic and Innistrad. While he is cursed, in a sense, his drive for revenge and his brutality might make him delve into his black magic. In fact, I feel this may parallel Spider-Man and the symbiotic entity that he fuses with to become black-suited but also corrupted (ofc, that later becomes Venom).
GB: He's cursed and the black magic mentality is seeping into his mindset. He's still ultimately a green walker, but think about it, he's not really a 'good' guy per se, he's more of a wild-card, and his anger, savageness and brutality might go hand-in-hand with black mentality. Never mind his quest for revenge, which began by infiltrating Jace's dwellings, brutally slaying his guards and servants JUST TO GET SOME BASIC INFORMATION. If that's not black, then I don't know what is. Take Tezz2.0 as an example: Tezz has maintained his mindset throughout. He was always selfish and power hungry, and "evil", while being mono-U, now he's UB because of his association with Bolas and of course being resurrected/undead-ish in a way. But, he's still the same old Tezz that takes **** from no one, not even BOLAS of all people. There's nothing even that black about his card. Garruk is possessed with a curse, a dark energy if you will, heck, let's just call it the Dark Side of Force. It's hurting and degrading him, unless he embraces it every once in a while, and ultimately, he may embrace it wholly, but we don't know yet for sure.
G: Boring, but I think more likely than the color combos listed after.
GW: The only thing that may have me thinking he *might* be GW is that coat he's wearing and the possibility that he may have resorted to entrusting civilization to help him cure his curse. The coat might simply be to hide his curse though.
GR: Some people say he might be GR, but I think this is one of the least likely outcomes. There's really nothing hinting at that at all. GR is about as anti-civilization as it gets, and I think the art would pronounce this boost of savagery, which it doesn't, and nothing in the storyline even hints at this happening.
GU: Unless WotC wants to throw us the biggest curve-ball we'll likely ever see in magic history, I doubt we'll see him in this combination.
Asking out a girl is like trying to cast a first turn Necropotence. Sometimes the other player will have the Force of Will to say no. You shouldn't let that stop you from trying it.
My theory as to why he has more cloths on is: that he has been traveling the multivers looking for lilly. Because of the curse making his skin a purpleish hue he is probly trying to cover it up (a disguise). If your trying to get information from people, and they saw you as a huge purplish dude they might be less likely to talk to you in fear of catching the sickness you may have or your some kind of monster humanoid.
All I can say is that I believe Mr Penguin is spot on here. I was going to say that his purple veins were hideous and he was covering them up with clothing, but got super nath'd.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
With both images of the Garruks now revealed is anyone else getting a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde vibe? Version 1 of the new art is quite dapper (for Garruk), while the smaller panel art makes him seem much more rage filled and bestial plus you can see the veins black and pulsating. Plus the original story seems to fit that horror trope of "horror lurking within" bit that is the tagline for the set.
Maybe he can begin to channel the curse itself to actually fuel his abilities but gives into its power of corruption over time...
I think a Jekyl / Hyde walker would be rather sweet.

How exactly would they do that on a walker? Sounds fun, but how would they do it mechanically?
Only thing right now I can see them doing is printing two of the same walker in the block to represent both halves. The planeswalker rule makes only one version viable at a time...
But its definitely difficult to pull off on one card. specially if the art only shows either the genteel half or the berserk half on any one specific card.

Wishful thinking. Their pet decks want a new planeswalker, and BG won't fit them.
Still, I'd rather Mr. Wildspeaker than Ajani any day. He does look really cool. I'm torn between BG and WG.
*Crosses fingers* Please don't be BG so Nissa can be in Innistrad block! Please, please!

Okay, now I really want him to be UG! That'd be so cool!
But you do make a really good point. There might just be hope, Nissa!

I just hope they don't make him cost 6 or something terrible like that. ugh.
I agree, and if they do, he better start with more than 3 loyalty and like Putrefy for a +1 or something.
