It's a shame though, as I think cards like Blatant Theivery, Inserruction and Liliana Vess are big, fun slapshy spells that add a lot to a game, and a simple land that everyone can and should run, will ruin those.
You're casting cards like Blatant Theivery and Insurrection and your biggest worry is Homeward Path? I'd be more worried about this.
I already explained this in the EDH forum, but if you're running Insurrection there should be absolutely no reason you're not running any Wasteland effects. This one card is going to ruin your day just like The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale will if you let it. Homeward Path is easily answerable in Commander, just like any other nonbasic.
People normally wait to cast an Insurrection until an opponent is tapped out, requiring a Force of Will.
This card makes all creature theft useless. You really think spending 6 mana on a control spell to take a land makes this answerable? That isn't an answer, it's a crap spell.
This type of land makes LD and Mass LD / stasis a whole lot more attractive for blue (blue will have to move that way to make up for the lost effects) - but do we really want our EDH games to devolve into battles over crappy lands?
Also, this deck hoses many black recursion spells - and without recursion, black is in a pretty crappy spot.
Red is also hanging around competitively by a thread - and that thread might be control magic, which red is actually really good at. Although red can answer it... hmm.
We'll see how it goes, but if this card isn't up at $50 online soon, I'd be mightily surprised.
(Note that this card in my meta would require adjustments to every one of my decks - that's usually a sign that a card is OP. It has less quality answers than Emrakul did.)
Yes. This hypothetical card is better than Bog in EDH for four reasons...
1. It can be played in any color, even colorless.
2. It doesn't have to enter the battlefield tapped.
3. It affects all graveyards.
4. It's repeatable.
That last ability is what would put it over the top. If it was printed, it would be banned in EDH in a heartbeat. The only deck in which Bojuka Bog is better is a deck that abuses the graveyard.
:DMan there is alot of Blue Mages crying in these posts!! Personally I hate blue and i love this card!! For once Blue mages get a kick in the nuts!!:D:D

Hmm, I like it because of zedruu, she needed a reset button, they should've given her that on her own. I guess that wouldn't make sense though being greathearted and all. I wish this didn't hose mind control cards so easily, but I like the functionality it gives zedruu.

Why do people keep acting like this only affects blue?
It affects my decks which play black recursion more than my blue decks (although it does completely screw Sakashima, Thada Adel, and a few other generals and makes them unplayable). It only affects Memnarch, Bribery, and Helm of Possession in Sharuum, but it messes up Sliver Overlord (can't do any tricks to steal creatures), stops the combo of Karrthus and Blades of Velis Vel, stops Insurrection, screws Animate Dead, Rise from the Grave, etc... all in Jund. It makes every one of those dead cards (or much crappier) in my decks. It also stops the very rare and hard to earn Liliana Vess ultimate in both decks. It is not rare for decks to run any of these cards or similar cards.
Should every deck really have to run stripmine and wasteland in order to answer it? Really? That's not good for the format. Every card that should be in every deck or forces you to put answers just for it in the deck is not good for the format - it just takes EDH one step closer to standard.

Yes, every deck should have to run Strip Mine and Wasteland to deal with this. And to deal with Academy Ruins, Gaea's Cradle, Cabal Coffers, Mishra's Workshop and all the other really good lands that need to be dealt with!
If someone wants to run their stealing all my stuff deck against my Momir Vig, I promise not to run this as long they promise not to kill my Cradle. And I promise one of them is going to be a lot more degenerate.
How does it make Thada unplayable? The land only returns control of creatures, so unless you're only stealing artifact creatures, it shouldn't affect her that much. And Memnarch can just steal every non-creature (or turn this land into an artifact and steal that first)
The only thing I don't like about this card is that it shows up in only one deck, and it's not in a deck that I'm interested in. Curse you WotC!

Thada steals artifacts, but the other 99 cards usually involve a handful of other theft cards... because they are awesome.
Well anyway this will be banned in EDH soon enough, it's a bigger ☺☺☺☺up than Jace2. Stealy and reani can be annoying yes, but not to the point where they needed to printed a super-hoser. Seriously, what where they thinking?
They were thinking that it's a good card that solves a problem that some colors can have a hard time dealing with. It's effective. It's cheap. And every deck can play it. It hoses a very narrow archetype very strongly, but the decks that can steal creatures that make running this land also have a number of solutions.
If you don't adapt you deserve the headaches.
The big issue I have with this is the crazy rate of evolution that this release will cause with EDH. Normally we get 5-10 cards every 3 months that we have to evaluate, test, and argue about. They just threw a couple of years worth of EDH playables right up in our grill.
Looking over the 51 cards that we've got here, I see 2-3 that aren't going to be considered for new decks I might build. That's insane. Sure, they are not all going to make the cut, but more than 5-10 of these will.

Why not make them use it, then dreamleash it?...........
Anyway, I dont think it was a mess up at all... No one likes having others take all of their creatures... Having a way around that is just fine... Dont like, deal with it--- there are ways to do so.

This will never get banned in edh. Come to peace with it.
I'm just confused why it's in Mirror Mastery, and not Political Puppets. Seems ideal to have an effective way of getting back all of the stuff you just donated with Zedruu
For around $7 (including shipping!) you could aquire dust bowl, ghost quarter, tectonic edge, andstrip mine. Which should (even if you only run one of them, dust bowl, I'm looking at you buddy) be in most every edh deck as well.
That's coming from a brion stoutarm player running some 15 threaten effects.

I'm buying a Mirror Mastery deck. This thing is a staple, and it's going to be worth big bucks in the future.
There's really no reason not to add this to a deck if your color-base is okay.

Thanks to Syndarion of Aeternal Studios for my sig!
Can't imagine how bad it will be when people actually play it.
I don't like land destruction but this land kind of warrants it you're running a red deck.
If you're running a red deck, you should be running land destruction already.
Thanks to Syndarion of Aeternal Studios for my sig!
More of it is what I should have said.
Why would red card that much in EDH?

However Counterspell isn't a huge worry when your facing, I dunno, Glissa or Sisay.
