I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
Apparently Wizard's plan to make FNM promos as ugly and useless as possible is going strong.
If they aren't going to offer standard legal cards as prizes for standard tournaments, the least they could do is make promos that won't collect dust in a trade binder.

Makes perfect sense.
I don't know if that's true or not, but if they were, well:
1) it's barely played in Legacy anymore;
2) nobody cares about Extended (and it's not even played there either)
3) it's long been out of Standard, so why now for this promo? Timing FAIL.
4) look at that thing, it's so freaking bad.
Times have changed...it's also like wanting a Mercedes and then having your son/daughter give you one as a gift...except it's painted some kind of off-puke shade. Yeah you might be a tad disappointed...

It's a highly playable card, pretty much no matter what you're doing, and the art honestly isn't that bad at all, and probably looks even better without the blur from the photo.
