So we had an image of a darksteel platinum angel (or something similar looking), earlier in the rumour season. This image isn't on any of the cards in the "godbook".
I can't imagine WOTC comissioned an art which they never intended on using, so does anybody have a guess what it might be? I wonder if it will show up in the commander precons?
I think the card your lookng for is Chancellor of the Annex or Shattered Angel
Countermagic is the smell before rain, the sun on the horizon and the chocolate chips in my mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's the first time I saw a woman naked and the first time I smelled perfume. It's that feeling you get when you know you're right.
But most of all; it's the feeling of playing Magic
I think the card your lookng for is Chancellor of the Annex or Shattered Angel
No, they are talking about the angel that is the art for the mirrodin pure booster box display. It is not a card and probably never was intended to be Just like the phyrexian obliterator picture with him holding mirrodin and the five suns is the picture for new phyrexia booster box.
I'm really trying to plunge into playing legacy tournaments, and my venue features an overload of 43 land decks all that use 1 mana cost spells early game. Can't afford the Force of Will's right now, but Mental Miss Step on the side board with extirpate backing it up should handle it.
Glistener Elf is going to make waves, just you wait. It is basically a 2/1 for G with no drawback. When have we seen such power in recent sets? It's madness, I tell you, madness! Honestly, start investing in this guy, he'll be worth his weight in gold as soon as people catch on. You've be wise to follow that small bit of advice. Either way, I'll be cashing in once the time of "The Glistener" comes around. Just you wait, sir, just you wait.
Also, flavorwise Battle Cry makes no sense.
The Mirrans are now VERY few in number, and the war is over.
Couldn't agree more... except that maybe, and this is 100% a stretch, the Mirren are so few in number than when they do attack they make everyone strong? IDK, that actually doesn't make any sense now that I re-read that.

The Mirrans are so few in number that only the strongest or luckiest have survived. When the Phyrexians come knocking they have to retreat. They're kind of like the cockroaches of New Phyrexia if you think about it.
Except that both of those cards trade with x/2s on their own. Glistener Elf may deal damage to a player like a 2/1, but it trades like a 1/1.

Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.

Did magiccards.info just put the spoiler on their site????
O_o...
I'm confused.
Could someone explain to me why they did?
Don't they wait for official annoucement?
Oh well.
Anyways, diggin' this new set.
Awesome uncommon/common.
WotC finally did good. pats on back
Does that mean the "leak" was planned or are Wizards rolling with the punches.
The second, almost certainly. There's little point in them continuing with business as usual when literally none of their preview cards will be a surprise to anyone who follows MTG on the web.
What happened to the drip drops?
Oh well, we waterfall, they waterfall back I guess...
BUT YAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYYAY is all I have to say on this subject.
Mad props to the call by Wizards. It's obviously another situation than the r_e-situation since the previews were rolling in anyway, so this is actually a reasonable decision.
It's the best case scenaio for Wizards to put the whole set up on the site. They know the information is out there, they can't really pretend it didn't happen and they'd rather have the traffic coming into their own site then going to others, in most cases.
Frankly I think it's their way to see if those folks who only follow leaks by the mothership react. Who knows, maybe if it's positive, then they will start doing this every set. Chances are though, those audience members will react negatively. They like slow rolls, and don't nessessarily want all the surprises given before they crack packs.
I think many people who pride themselves on following spoilers think it'll give them an advantage at pre-releases... this gives the "casual" players an even leg.
No, duh! Was my sarcasm really so bad misconstrued that no one got it?
It's text. On the internet. It has no emotional tone. That's why so many use [sarcasm] tags, because otherwise people just think you're trolling. Or an idiot. Or both.
So, WotC put the full spoiler up given the leak. Even MaRo's article appears to have been edited at the end to incorporate the new reality. No idea yet whether the hunt is still on for the leak.

I think slow rolls are probably a bit better for WotC because there's more free press coverage on external web sites. But they didn't really have a choice in this matter-- the spoiler is out there and can't be denied. They're just making the best of the situation, and honestly, it's not that bad. It's annoying for them, but it's not a "the sky is falling" moment.
The problem with defining [EDH] by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

How do you know this? I for one hate the slow roll.

Some of US don't like slow rolls, but for folks who avoid this site and other spoiler sites... they do it because THEY DON'T.
Not every MTG player with an internet connection obsesses over spoilers. Some like having the element of surprise when they crack packs. I think we've all sat across from someone at our sealed pool who has that look of pure cluelessness when they open their packs. This person did not look at the spoilers.

Except it has Infect, unlike both of those cards.

Glistener is pretty strong, but not at all busted. It will likely see play, but it won't make tidal waves in the format.
