.....because Phyrexia wins. Leonin and Loxodon for SURE don't have arms like that. Esper Vedalken might. The point is that it's for SURE not Vulshok.
Even though this sword is made by Auriok and improved by Vulshok according to the blurb. And has the Mirran watermark. Mmm Hmm. Yep, definitely a Phyrexian!
Honestly, it could be any number of random Mirrodin metal-infused creatures. I think the artist may have just taken the metal part too far and made it more like Etherium rather than metal plates\scales on the skin like we're used to seeing.
Anyway, RW are relevant protections as Masamune said earlier. Like the other swords, buy\trade these up asap before they go SoFI on you.
So its named SWaP, should have seen that coming. Too bad it doesn't have the same ring just life SoFI and the other swords. But I really like the art thoughm best out if the 3 in the current set. Hipefully it's effect would be the best out of the 5, "Save the best for last"
I think if we base from the other previews such as the 5 Praetor's we can easily say that New Phyrexia is already the next set, although I can't say that they have already won especially when the Mirrans are still fighting back with how few they are left.
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?
#1 - Make it dumber
#2 - Give it protection from removal and counter?
#1 - DUMBER!
#2 - Add Timewalk?
#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
Has anyone taken a look at all 3 of the SoM block swords side by side? It looks to me as if it's the same bearer in all 3 arts. Could this be the case?
1. Good Decks Play With Good Cards
2. Good Decks Have Good Plans
3. Good Decks Have Good Mana Bases
4. Good Decks Respect Their Opponents
5. Good Decks Have 75 Cards
6. Sometimes Even Good Decks Are Bad Choices
7. Sometimes Your 'Good Deck' Isn't
Probably not. Mind and Body is human. Feast and Famine is Phyrexian. Peace and War is possibly artifact creature. Or perhaps Tezzerite. Mirrans who are used in Tezzeret's plans. Let's be honest, the character with blue shining eyes looking at you in the War and Peace art is not traditionally Mirran.

[I was permabanned and all I got to show for it was .... well, nothing.]
What I like most about this sword is that even if the effects somehow blow, the protection alone warrants using it. So basically, no matter how it goes down, the sword is going to be good.
open your eyes man. BASED OFF OF PREVIOUS SWORDS everything about this card screams MIRRAN. it's the completion of a cycle from the original mirrodin block, and everything about the flavor of this screams mirran. don't argue "green and black are phyrexian and red and white are mirrodin" while trying to agrue that the flavor of this being mirran is off. if you knew anything about the story you'd know that Phyrexia is invading EVERY color, and that mirrodin, before the invasion had every color present.
none of the og swords or SoBaM can work with your phyrexian argument. the swords are mirran. deal with it.
Clearly based off of the crusaders the sword of FF is mirran and sword of WP should rightfully be phyrexian.
And I completely understand the fact that mirrodin is being invaded. But the story doesn't make what a card is associated with. It's what the card does rtard, steady progress would not have been a phyrexian card if it didn't have proliferate. The only things associated with the story that are directly put into the cards are legendary permanents such as planeswalkers and legendary creatures. SoWaP obviously is not legendary
And your argument about "it was created by the mirrans" is rightfully dumb, you trying to tell me that blightsteel colossus should be mirran? Cause darksteel colossus was made by the mirrans and then phyrexia took control of it, which apparently made it phyrexian... So if the mirrans made the sword... and then phyrexians by art obviously took control of it. Ergo along with the fact that Mirrans colors are RED and WHITE by DEFAULT makes it phyrexian. Winning, and done with dumb conversations about wizards getting things wrong because they often do GL the sword should be phyrexian.

Honestly i was thinking of this awhile back...the holder of the sword being the same guy....human...becoming phyrexian...and being completed.
Just want to point out the thumb of the guy holding SoFaf and the thing holding SoWaP is exactly the same. And im sure someone will point out that the guy on SoFaF has 5 fingers while the thing on SoWaP has 4....im sure being completed could rid you of that pesky 5th finger.

Even more of a sign that phyrexia is winning, thus will be the new set.

If the set is split 80-20, then they have reason to makeup watermarks for some of these wallpapers. (this and other mirran cards may be phyrexian)
It isn't like they havent advertised Mirran cards as phyrexian (Necrotic Ooze) in promotional material earlier on in the block.

It look slike something like a phyrexian crusader holding it.
Crusader has two thumbs, one on either side of the palm, so it's not a Phyrexian Crusader holding it...
Edit: Loxodons only have three fingers... Also a lot of golems have three fingers Crush and rust tick show constructs with only three fingers. So for all we know it's a human who had an arm amputated and replaced with a golem bit. So guessing based on the hand/arm is pretty silly.

What other Mirran wallpapers could actually be Phyrexian? I don't think they've mislead us with any of them, but they will run out of dual images for a 80-20 New Phyrexia eventually.
I like the art and kind of hope Chris Rahn could do Fire and Ice/Light and Shadow for promos or something to match (or for M12 would be fine by me :))
Ok so I understand that it looks like a phyrexian is holding the sword but I haven't seen anyone yet say really about the creatures behind the holder. I know they seem to look a little dark but if you look in the sky there are angels and I know there is no way the phyrexians would be able to convert angels.

guys its phyraxian.
how can i tell. look at the picture. the mirrans are on the right side attacking the phyraxians on the left. the sword looks as it will strike down on the right twords the mirran side.
so story cicle is dude gets sword. become corupted and fights for the phyraxians.

Agreed. I can remember how some people were certain that Sorin was going to be in Scars because the guy holding Sword of Body and Mind had similar spaulders.

And why wouldn't they be able to convert angels? In any case they could just be flying creatures that are part humanoid.

Or how Grinning Demon was in RoE as Demonic Appetite had a similar smile, along with appearing on a binder cover... Of course it had to be an iconic card from the past if they'd put it on a binder and not some enchantment no one will remember.

This is so every Mirran who picks up the sword can rush onto a gooey phyrexian zombie saying: "come into my plane? SoWaT??"

You are mistaken sir. Take a look at Koth of the Hammer's hands. Koth is a Vulshok.
