Been waiting for this. At the time, I was really wishing JSS type promos or Gateway existed, being that it was instantly one of my favorite cards of all time. Great art.
Well, that leaves the original art in the dust. I think even Guay fans would have to agree.
while the new art isn't bad, this is one guay fan who disagrees. it looks too much like the lorwyn faerie arts i didn't like or didn't notice.
fortunately for me, i already have four foils with the original art. unlike the previous FNM cards i'd already foiled out (wild nacatl and qasali pridemage), i'll be keeping the original foils and trading the FNM's this time.

I will always love the original art more, but this absolutely gorgeous. I'll definitely grab 4.

I mean this art is good, but stylistically it needs to be approximately 100% Guayer.
That is quite cool. The only reason I feel like its works better than the original is because she's actually doing something. Guay's was more like a poster pose or something, not to say there's anything wrong with that.
As technically beautiful as the art is, I feel it as a downgrade from the original.
The original I feel has a more commanding feel to it, saying something like: "Hey, I'm a countering faerie, hush that spell up.", very fitting for the card. This one is just saying something like: "Hush, look at the curvature of my fine faerie body ."
It's as if this art could have been much better as another art for a faerie creature, or a spell. The only similar thing was the pose from the original.
Then again, that's just my two cents with that.
