I love reading threads about spoiled cards. They're full of people either saying "~card~ is so terrible it will never see play in anything" or "~card~ is so broken and Wizards is horrible at designing cards".
also, your opponent still gets to lose 2 life per creature that hits the yard as long as it's in play...
Just put this down, wipe his board... and wait for something to come down and hit it with either Doom Blade or Go for the Throat...

It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
Also, this set seems to be off the charts on power creep in some areas and then makes ridiculously weak cards (like Skinwing) to I guess balance it out? I don't get it. Making Skinwing does not justify printing Blightsteel Colossus.
This is so going in my archenemy deck, I just have to figure wtf it's going to replace. Choices, choices.
So yeah, am I the only one that's actually made note that Living Weapon is a clear example that you can't have everything your way? If you're playing living weapon for the equipment, you're doing it wrong.
So that's it? We are 10 cards short, are we missing any rares or other exciting cards as per the orb? As I see it now, this sets a flop. It doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference upon the meta at all.
You do realize that 'the meta' isn't everything right?
Circumstances may never have been as friendly as now for making Lilliana Vess a player in standard. She distinguishes herself from other PWs in that she has an ultimate-strength ability occupying her second ability position. Repeatedly Vampiric Tutoring is just so powerful, in the abstract.
Perhaps now there exists in Standard the set of cards that can be combined to properly take advantage of always drawing the ideal card when needed. I am specifically imagining running her with Mind Sludge, Memoricide, and this new Gingival Wurm to give mad cow disease to Control (though it would first have to be softened by a few Duress effects), the ramp decks (plucking out Primeval Titan and any primarily creature deck (wrath + body is self-evidently stronger than plain wrath, a card which itself very effectively manages aggro).
Lillian Vess may just have reached Krazy Kow status, for the first time in all of three years. Well, I hope at least. She is just so much stronger than she has ever been given credit.
my thoughts exactly.
that thing really IS a massacre wurm, maybe even outside of limited and casual. I certainly woulden't be lolin' if my opponent played it,
that thing is S.C.A.R.Y...

a small sentence for you to read while you ignore my post.
Actually dumping 3x Masscare Wurms into the graveyard with Buried Alive then bringing them back with Patriach's bidding can be pretty much game. You bring back guys and kill them again. At least things with that are not bigger than X/6.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
A very fun casual card, it is a good limited bomb, but not as good as Carnifex Demon, but I have no idea what the standard comments are thinking:
Exactly what miracle is the Wurm supposed to pull off in standard?
Only a few deck types over extended on creatures to the point where a 7 or 8th turn drop in a Mono deck or 10 or 11th in a dual deck is going to make the difference.
The Wurm has no evasion. No trample. He is expensive and not immune to counters. He was no resistance. He does give some board advantage except against Boros or Elves if he managed to get out soon enough.
And that assumes elves without counters for Warcaller. Or without their Regen leader.
Avenger tokens do not drop and stay 0/1. They are in a deck designed to drop 2-4 lands a turn after all.
So he hits a late game Boros which was already loosing since UB or MonoB has made it to late game against an agro deck
.
He will usually deal 2-4 coming in - maybe - and then 2 when you chump block him. But If he does kill the board because its all chumps you have on turn 7+ or so a 6/6 creature that is uncontested. Why did it matter he did dmg when he came in?
Every titan matches or beats him with greater board impact.
Wurmcoil beats him.
Sorin Morkav does more to the board (and we know how much he is played). And Baneslayer is still in the format and now she is affordable by all.
Thrun will now block him all day long.
Blight Dragon beats him.
Tezzert creates a blocker to eat him.
Gideon locks him down without even a whimper.
Abyssal, who has now been out for 2 turns, happily block and dies.
Elspeth chumps him and then gets the life back for next turn, and then repeats until she has had enough and nukes.
Masticore also blocks him all day long until its sick of him
These are all name cards, I know, but there is the competition for high end deck slots with mythic costs. But these are the cards he is competing with for slots in various decks.

Saki, Tsumo After Kon needed to be banned sadly. But I wish we could have kept Saki Miyanaga past the rotation.

I usually don't like being a naysayer, but I agree. Aside from the influx of new infect cards (i still expect infect to be merely a tier 2 build at this point) I don't see anything making a big splash (aside from Thurn, Tezz, go for the throat?). Limited should be fun...but there are other formats too, right?
EDIT: Oh yes, EQUIP 6? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? that is all.
Wow...I love black, I love black removal, I love black creatures and I LOVE this Wurm. It'll be just like every other card I play at FNM/States/Regionals that people say suck and then when I beat 'em with it, they sadface. I had a Nirkana Revenant and a Drana in my Vamps deck for States and I barely missed top 8.
Skinwing...... WTF? WTF is that equip cost? Other living weapons have relatively decent equip costs, even if overcosted, but this? You will want to blink/bounce this, but NEVER equip with this.
Wow. I love how awful it having 5 toughness is. Baneslayer says "F you." It can kill titans but big deal.. 6 toughness would have pushed it over the top, I guess?

Well, look at it this way, those cards are ones you cast as soon as possible in a aggressive agro deck with vampires.
When do you want to cast this guy? You can't not kill agro opponents creatures for the entire game so this guy pays off big on turn 8. I mean agro is very beatable, but you do not beat it by letting their creatures in turns 1-7 live.
And out of curiosity what is the nature of your local meta? How shark filled and competitive?

Also after seeing that (as long as it isn't worth much), out comes the paint pen for the LOL.
Too bad they'll be 2/3s before your wurm gets a chance O,o
At least that was my experience when I use to play Valakut.
Its' got that "Evil Smile" >:)

Imagine playing that against a token deck...
Is it the same wurm art from the scars box? *snoops arround his room for the box*
*edit*
kk, same wurm, different art.
No, according to this forum Glissa isn't worth mentioning and it's control/Valakut or bust. Maybe she will work outside Elves!
My thoughts exactly. Stupid power creep....
