In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Since the picture is both really crappy & dark, people are having a difficult time seeing what's going on. I messed with the levels in photoshop so it's easier to see. Hope this helps:
For those who can't see the art properly, try standing up. I was about to post something about the art being suspiciously like Corrupted Concience, but then someone mentioned how they see things I couldn't in the art. LCD monitors can look different from different angles, and standing lit up the top of my screen allowing me to see the skull and the differences in the art.
About the card, I would love to put this in a casual deck that dumps the library into the graveyard, like using dredge or Traumatize. Depending on the cost, this could be brutal with a dredge strategy in the eternal formats if anyone still plays dredge there.
It's been a long time since a set has had such a high concentration of "lolwut?" cards. This might be the first non-planeswalker green mythic that actually feels mythic and not just overpushed. Crazy awesome in casual formats; I've got a mono-green deck that would kill to recycle multiple Yavimaya Elder and Sakura-Tribe Elder. A+ for this one.
I love this card. Balanced, but a huge effect that justifies the cost. I don't see this making the grade in T2, but I like it none the less.
As for those questioning the lack of emblem, the reason is that there are many cards that can alter maximum after this is played and it is reasonable that they should be able to be used to counter the sort of deck that would use this. Also Wizards has not printed a single card that isn't a PW ultimate that gives you an emblem and I feel that their plan is to keep things this way.

"The smallest seed of regret can bloom into redemption."
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
Thought Scour is terrible in BV. How many flashback spells are being run? Say roughly 15. This gives you a roughly 38% chance of milling one flashback spell. And even if you do, you paid one mana to cantrip and dump an overcosted spell. Alchemy, Geistflame, Devil's play, etc. all cost much more to flash back than your average card, so you're not getting full value out of it.
You'd much rather play Ponder. At least that generates a tangible advantage.

God.... more EDH CRAP. Why is this card amazing? Reliquary Tower and Spellbook that can't be removed? If you got milled you bring stuff back? Who is this going to help me win when I'm ahead or behind? Sorry green.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
If it's a problem because it's an 'EDH only card,' then the solution is to start playing and enjoying EDH with your friends. I understand this card will not be played outside of casual formats, however; it is a good idea to design a card as an 'EDH only card' because it encourages people who play this game casually (those who drive the market) to enjoy themselves. It's a sick mythic.

If that is the main thing you took for this you have zero imagination.
When I told my spike buddy about this card he started to think of ways to break this thing.
UWG super control. 1-0 tournament rounds coming soon to a store near you!
(Prob not.)
EDIT: That isn't to say this thing isn't retarded for edh. It just had to cost a lot to ensure it wasn't a new yawgwin variant and unfortunatly that may mean it won't make an impact in STD.

Those cards would remain playable even if there were an emblem. Unless im missing something (and thats very possible) they would simply apply in time stamp order like anything else. The last modifier played wins. There is no emblem here because it is unnecessary, plain and simple.

Enlighten me please then. It's 8 mana. Three of which is Green. Makes it a bit hard to splash. It's 8 mana. Yes i had to mention that again because... it's 8 freaking mana. God forbid it doesn't get counterspelled, I need to have game winning stuff in my graveyard in order for this to be great or stuff to delay the game in hopes of getting what I need.
Honestly it's just "Pay 8 you get an emblem. You have no maximum handsize." Ok cool I grab whatever I have in my yard. I guess you can piss off all the discard players? Actually that might be worth it in that case... if you don't eat a counterspell or memorcide. I see this card going the same way as Time Reversal in terms of hype.

I am not going to enlighten you at all you have made up your mind. The point wasn't it will be played.
A control deck that ran a ton of counter magic and removal that just let your opponent do nothing could then play this and keep doing it. It isn't a true wincon so paying that much will prob not end up being worth it.
Dreamers can dream tho. Not everything that is overcosted is because it was made for EDH. Sometimes they try and play it safe and go to far.
this makes me ask the question: is Dream Halls a bad eternal deck? because if not, this thing'll see play in it. get 4-for-1 deals on each Conflux if you grab another, then resolve this thing and do it all again? seems sick.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations.
