Good god. U/R Myr just got better. Plop down riddlesmith, dig for galvanizer/reservoir/splintertwin, whatever. As long as what you discard is a myr just bring it back! This'll be great fun.
Riddlesmith seems absurdly powerful. can easily take the place of a fauna shaman as a discard engine. Could see a deck running him, vengevine, bloodghast, etc, followed by trinket mage getting a memnite to recur.
The bomb is amazing as we all can see, and i like that its enchantment removal for black in legacy. Will probably slip into my deck over there.
Ratchet Bomb- obviously quite good. not much else to be said. better than the Keg, but i liked the fact that Engineered Explosives was fetchable by Trinket Mage. oh well, can't win 'em all.
Ooze is Johnny-tastic, yet still bores me.
Riddlesmith is much more intriguing to my Johnny sensibilities. and like the rest of the cycle, looks great for limited.
Shatter beasty- kinda sad it's uncommon, cuz that looks like a high-priority pick for limited.
and Darksteel Juggernaut is friggin' sweet. idk how playable it is outside limited, but it's the Juggernaut, *****!
Riddlesmith- The blue member of the smith cycle, looting is a powerful ability and like the black Painsmith it doesn't require mana to use the ability. This is a solid pick for limited and potentially constructed playable.

don't be ridiculous. That's like saying we should be running Merfolk Looter instead of Fauna Shaman right now. Half of the shaman's appeal is the search, not the discard.

How does the Ooze work with, say, an Echo Mage in the yard? Is the highest-level activated ability of the Echo Mage usable without level counters on the Ooze?
Today's preview is just... WOW! I loved every single card previewed, they are strong, nostalgic, challenging and FUN to play with.
The Bomb is DA BOMB, so good it's not mythic, since no one wants something as expensive as Jace anytime.
The Ooze makes me even happier, i love those crazy designed cards that begs to be combo'ed.
Way to go Wizards! Too bad I won't be able to play the prerelease, this really will be a great one to play!
I love the ooze, It's just asking to be built around somehow.
Riddlesmith is mostly what we expected, and like the other smiths, that's pretty good.
Oxidia Scrapmaster is good artifact removal
Darksteel Juggernaught is another card that I like. A nice meshing of 3 different themes (Darksteel, indestructible, Broodstar) to make a card that's very solid, but lack of evasion hurts it.
Also, I love the flavor text, and so does the Joker
Ratchet Bomb is quite cool. So many decks will be running it, I have to wonder what it will be valued at. I really wish there was some cool flavor text on it. Most cards that blow a lot of things up have great flavor text when it's there. Oh, well.
I think some people don't understand that the Mirrans are the bad guys. Arcbound Ravager is Mirran. Phyrexia are the good guys coming in to conquer an evil, evil world.
Makes killing some levelers that much more fun - you get the benefits without having to invest the mana. And it can double Kalitas' ability - you get a creature AND possibly a new activated ability to play with. Just some interactivity ideas.
I like the smith cycle a lot, the white and blue ones seem very powerful. All that's left is green, since white is the one that got token generation and black got buffing, I'm willing to be it'll be lifegain or something else just as useless.
Could the blue Smith possibly let a new variant of Dredgevine pop up post-rotation?
I think Sun Titan found it's new best friend: Ratchet Bomb. Mono White, or White Blue Control seems like it could be good, because it doesn't really loose much, can play good artifacts and get them back with Sun Titan. Can play the new arbiter and that will come back. Seems like naya vengevine would struggle if it doesn't start with a sparkmage and collar in its hand.
Ooze dude is begging to be broken, seems like there are going to be plenty of abilities that it will want to copy, just be wary of Linvala's Price going up to shut this dude down.
Darksteel Juggernaut- Card is meh in my opinion, could be good in limited in the right deck, but even then its iffy
Shatter Giant- Dude seems strong in this limited format as many others have already said.
Riddlesmith- What we expected or I expected him to do, card is good in limited, don't know if he will actually have implications to standard but I doubt it, because he isn't super amazing in standard, cause I can't just loot if I want to, but i actually need a spell of a specific type.
Buy your boxes of this set now, cause you are going to want a lot of cards from this set pretty much guaranteed

Ratchet Bomb is the perfect utility card. Answers to anything that may be giving you issues. From tokens at 0 to anything higher. Equal to Powder Keg without needing your upkeep to get going. One could argue better, but definitely not less. Will see lots of play in all kinds of deck arch-types.
Love the indestructible juggernaut. It gets bigger and bigger and can't die via normal avenues. (Infect/Wither counters not withstanding.)
Now I am sure I will probably be disagreed with up the wazoo, and I don't have the time to pinpoint possible interactions, but I want to go on record as saying I think that the Riddlesmith is breakable. Free draw for playing artifacts? Wow. That just seems wrong. I mean think not only of standard, but older formats too. Vintage? Yeah, draw your deck without batting an eye. Legacy/Extended?... I think the skies going to be the limit with this guy.

The Ooze is going to be so good in EDH.
Darksteel Juggernaut's flavor text is amazing. Oh lawdy is that a Dark Knight reference on my magic card? I think it is.
Darksteel Juggernaut has, in my opinion, the best name and flavor text of the set so far, along with some great art. Also a good limited bomb.
Player1: I tap to add another counter, making 4.
Player2: I proliferate to make it 5. Jace is safe.
I wonder how many times that will happen? Cool card, nonetheless.
I think it's more a reference to a philosophical question that has existed for about two thousand years, but sure, go with batman.
I think the deck I am planning to build will actually be viable now.

Darksteel Juggernaut = maybe.
Necrotic Ooze = toys! A few Standard-legal graveyard toys for the new Ooze:
Bazaar Trader
Brimstone Mage
Dawnglare Invoker
Echo Mage
Guul Draz Assassin
Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet
Kazandu Tuskcaller
Obsidian Fireheart
Pestilence Demon
Vengeful Archon

Nah.
Hogan vs Andre the Giant.
Juggernaut looks like lots of fun, given all the cheap artifacts!
