When you add/update the partial spoiler linked on the top of the page, could you please add the card's affiliation in it? Be nice to look at it and be able to tell between Mirrodin and Phyrexia. Thanks!
Look at me! I can bold words and use CAPSLOCK to emphasize my point! Hopefully I can trick people into ignoring that I completely have no evidence in my post to back up my claims if I make it look fancy enough.
I'll see what can be done, going to have to mess with the template for it a bit. In the meantime, I don't think this has to stay open.
Edit: I don't really see a good way to add this to the spoiler without making it look terrible - we can't exactly just add the watermark. I'll open this to ideas, but BE CONSTRUCTIVE.
KP - is there any ability for ya'll to add an image as the "background" behind the text on each (without too much sweat - obviously its doable, just a matter of degree of effort)?
If so you could literally make a watermark image and have it show roughly like the cards themselves do. (Just make a very light grey version of each, like 20-30% black density - so that the text is viewable easily over top)
Another option would be to simply split it into a top and a bottom for each faction. Basically a "Scars of Mirrodin - Mirrans" spoiler and a "Scars of Mirrodin - New Phyrexia" spoiler: rather than one contiguous one.

Perhaps just a simple (M) or (P) after the last bit of text inside the card template? And then a line telling everyone what that means and that it isn't actually on the card near the top of the page?

Anything like that would be well over my head, I know that much. From what I can see in the options, there's nothing like that available though. We pretty much type stuff into a box and it gives us what you see.

I did consider this, but that's still going to take a bit of effort to see which card is which faction, and I feel like it defeats the purpose then. We could do it on the card name line, but that might be too invasive.
Yeah, this is the first thing I thought. I think it would work.
This seems like it should be possible, but with the tools I have available I can't do this. I'll check with Mikey and Hannes and see if something like this can be added.
Unless the set symbols need to be a fixed size or number, you could have ten pictures instead of five; faction versions of the four rarities and the unknown, where each picture is the watermark and the set symbol side by side.
Not sure if the setup would allow for that, though, and it could get clunky.
WHY is everybody getting so worked up about these damned watermarks? They have absolutely no in-game significance, I don't see why they matter in the slightest for something like spoilers.

It's something more to talk about. Also, they have tangible significance for player rewards, which indirectly affects the meta. Also also, who's to say that the game-day affiliation thingie won't be meshed into other events?

By the time it's game day, the set will have been long known. If it were to be used for anything else, we probably would have heard by now. (I suppose we'll know for sure once the mini-site goes up with prerelease and release details...)
Meanwhile, it's being kept track of on the number crunch.

Same reason we like seeing flavor text ahead of time, too.
You guys are making this too hard. Simply choose a font color for each side [say red for Mirrodin, and blue for Phyrexia] in the title of a card. The titles already have the identifying color strip as a visual reminder of the color of the card, this should be easy.
What I would like to see added is the list at bottom of the tokens generated, and the cards referenced which create them. The WURMCOIL ENGINE is an excellent example. Why aren't there two tokens noted at the bottom of the list?

Hi KPDaly16, I offer all my web designer skills, for this matter, im wondering if you could add html to textboxes you told, if so, it can easily be done (the watermark thing) without touching any php template. We can discuss this thing by mail if you like.

Couldn't those be added at the end where these things are?
(This card is a reprint: MagicCards.Info or Gatherer.)

Colors won't work for the colorblind.
Edit: I wonder why the rarity symbols haven't been a problem....hmmm...
