I have been on the recieving end of this thing many times today while a friend and I were testing out ideas for new T2 decks. This thing is friggin bonkers. The mana cost is perfect if your facing down any kind of aggro style deck, turn four (and five technicaly) you net yourself quite a bit of life and kill two of their creatures.
I really like this card against the inevitable all-in Eldrazi strategies we'll see immediately after the set is released. For example, on the play against the much-touted 3rd turn Hand of E, they commit two spells, the Eldrazi, and 3 turns worth of mana, and you gain 7 life and effectively impede their next turn (because they're not going to play out a creature to get Edict'd on your next upkeep). Sure, that's the ideal, but beyond that, it can take out Jar Jar, Proggy, Darksteel, GSS...Seems pretty good to me.
I'm actually surprised this is rare. In a lot of sets, it would make sense; easy 2-for-1 should be rare. But this is the set where it is most likely to do little or nothing by popping spawn tokens.
At the worst it pops some spawn tokens, and I have a hunch killing spawn tokens is a good thing...it's in the same color as Consume the Meek. Recurring this card would be obnoxious.
Good card is good. Not uber, but that should never be the goal anyway...
Off-topic, but I had to mention that I like how the post immediately preceding yours mentioned Cabal Coffers and then I look at your signature and you have the flavor text from it there. Haha.
On-topic, this card seems decent. Really stomps the balls of midrange decks or all-in strategies.

I bought 26 of these at $4.35 each (including S&H) Was this a good investment?
I feel like they'll definitely be five or six bucks in a couple months. I got a foil one for 5 bucks from a friend's friend at the prerelease. He sold it for that because he was afraid if it was foil and expensive then he wouldn't be able to get rid of it.

Yea I really like this card. The only cards I think is better in ROE are Gideon, wall of Omen, and maybe vegavine.

I doubt it. So you spent around $110-115 on them...
I don't know if you just want to trade them, auction them, sell them in your cards store, what, because that would make some difference.
I just don't see a 4CMC Sorcery removal spell being worth a whole lot. Even if it does gain you life and get you two creatures. It all depends on the archetypes that spawn from ROE.
I'll say this - if MBC finally hits tier 1, then you've probably made a good investment. However, even if this is a staple, I can't see it being worth more than 6 bones, like someone above pointed out, which isn't going to leave much profit for you.
I could see this working really well in conjunction with vendetta. I think the removal suite black has now is quite good. Consume the meek is a nice one too.
I pulled this card at both the Sat. a.m. pre-release & the Sat. night pre-release. It saved my butt on more than 1 occasion in both tournaments. In the 1st tournament I top decked it when my opponent was about to kill me with a Nirkana Revenant. I gained 4 life & then went on to win. 2nd tournament I was starring at a Ulamog's Crusher & I was at 5 life when I drew it. Went on to win that game also. So I'm liking the card.
Rarity should have very little if anything to do with a cards power level, even in a token heavy limited it would have been fine at uncommon.
Tribal: Zombies.
Five color staircase is in development.
