I was just about the say 'meh' to the card, but then I saw rebound. Very nice in limited and standard. 2 for 1's with lifegain!

If it was an Instant I'd like it. As is, I'll still put it in my EDH deck. Then again, I'm not sure what in this set I won't put in my EDH deck.

Problem with this card is that it's not very good against Jund. So they sac a Thrinax and a token?

It's...okay. It could potentially pick off some major threats against a control deck with minimal board presence, but could just as easily pick off two spawn tokens.

I actually think this is pretty playable. Against most decks I think Everflowing Chalice -> Consuming Vapors is pretty good.

2-for-1 sacrifice removal that gives you life for only 4 mana?

I deem this awesome.

I like this card too, but not as a rare, and not as a sorcery.

Edit: I also like it with Persecutor, though.

I think between this and consume the meek mono black control is returning.

I think this is a fake, border is very weird I doubt this would even be a rare. Seems like a common. Otherwise, i guess its playable.

This and Consume the Meek may actually make MBC viable.

Here's something to think about:

EoT, cast Consume the Meek, ridding them of all their little dudes. Now, cast Consuming Vapors, which makes them sacrifice their BIG creatures, netting you quite a bit of life.

Double Edict that gains you life? That's pretty good actually... Not really broken, but still good enough to play.

Hmmm...built in 2-for-1 is great and all, but the life gain seems to be the thing that's pushing it out there. I can foresee some problems with it clashing with tendrils on the 4-slot though. Also the sac clause means this is terrible against tokens (as usual).

I knew we would get at least one good rare with rebound. This might see play in constructed (I don't know Vampires very well) but really shines in multiplayer, where you get the chance to target a different opponent after the board state has changed. Probably a must for black EDH decks.

good card is good. Goes right into any control deck with black in it.

This thing is absolutely heinous. MBC might be back after all.

This is fun for multiplayer and casual, but that's about it. Maybe sideboard material in a MBC build.

I love 2-for-1's and this baby is great.

It probably doesn't replace Tendrils of Corruption, but it's liable to do so once M10 rotates.

I'm falling in love with all the 'double effects' available to vamps right now, a 4/4 pro-white flyer that's a drain life, a 2/2 bear that forces the opponent to sac, a four life-gaining edict that is played again for free (which means of course you're getting both edicts at 1B, which means it's par for the course). I wish the deathtouch rebound was better than it is, but i'm lovin' this.

looks like Rise of the Eldrazi will give the "Rise of the Vampires" feel for the meta.

Plague wind costs 9 all at once, though. I don't think that's a very good comparison. This card is ☺☺☺☺ing ridiculous.

I LOVE this. Love it a lot! It's like 2 cruel edicts in one with a nice life gain bonus. Also really really good with the Persecutor.
