eh, with halimar depths and jace, i still think treasure hunt is better, but no draw spell should go untested. so i guess i will test it. It is basically a worse brainstorm, except you get to shuffle a card, instead of putting it on top, which can be pretty fantastic.
I think you mean Lat-Nam's Legacy, and yes... you're right but I think the fact that you see 3 cards before you choose which one to shuffle back makes it slightly better. Also, as a top deck with an empty hand, you can pay U1 to get a better top deck.
Phantasmal Abomination- It's a fat 5/5 defender for 3 with the Skulking Ghost ability. It's still pretty useful since apart from burn pretty much anything targetting it in constructed would be able to kill it anyway.
Lavafume Invoker- Boring grey ogre sized creature but with an ultra expensive power only pump ability. Limited playable.
See Beyond- Interesting draw effect, allows you to dig 2 and then shuffle away whatever you don't want from your hand. If this had costed just U it would have been pretty good, as it is it's limited only fodder.
Caravan Escort- Pretty boring level up creature since the ultimate only adds first strike and costs an additional 8.
Nest Invader- it's a bear with a spawn token. Good card for limited.
Daggerback Basilisk-simple 2/2 deathtouch for 3, probably pretty strong with all the huge creatures and defenders in ROE limited.
Runed Servitor- a 2/2 for 2 colourless is interesting and it's 187 ability is a one shot howling mine. unsure of usefulness.
Ondu Giant- that's pretty decent a 2/4 with a rampant growth attached for 4 mana.
Growth Spasm- it's a 3cc rampant growth with a spawn attached, nice limited acceleration.
Awakening Zone- token producers are always worth checking out and these tokens can accelerate your mana.
Essence Feed- Expensive but it allows you to potentially jump from 6 mana to 10 mana and a 3 point drain never hurts.
Skywatcher Adept- solid boring evasive level up creature for limited.

honestly as much as i dont like this set for t2 and the fact that blue continues to suck... i do really wanna play this set in limited. it looks so damn fun
It may be way early for this , but can we figure out how a levelled Hedron Field Purists works with AngelHeart Vial? Does the vial still get the counters (my first reading is yes as the damage is "dealt" even if the prevention effect then resolves and stops the damage from reducing your life total). If so... yummy.
I think you've been doing great work and these are totally making me look forward to the release of this set. I think I'll actually enjoy this set as much as Planar Chaos, which was probably the last time I really enjoyed a set as a whole.

"If a source would deal damage to you or a permanent you control, prevent (1 or 2) of that damage."
"Whenever you're dealt damage, you may put that many charge counters on Angelheart Vial."
The Purists ability kicks in before the damage is dealt. It's a replacement effect. From rule 615.6: "If damage that would be dealt is prevented, it never happens." Thus, you don't get full counters added.
