So whats the deal with getting these? I see them referenced as Judge gifts. Does that mean 1 card is given to registered judges? Does it matter what level judge you are? How many events you run each year? I'm just curious whats involved. Thanks!

They are given out to judges at PTs, GPs, Some Nationals and other large events (SCG 5Ks et al).
On the card I am very happy about this. It is good to see good cards as judge foils.

Well it's not on Ebay, and it'll be the first i've heard of Ebay being the primary source for information regarding new promos. Even if it were on ebay, that doesn't stop it from being a scam.
Thank you, but I think it's pretty clear we've debunked this. What are the chances of someone selling a foiled out judge card nobody knew they were printing on Ebay, really.
you'd think well, you know, a judge might get their hands on one before people start selling them also.
The auction was there. You didn't look under completed. I don't know why people instantly assume everything is fake instead of, you know, actually trying to prove it one way or the other.
Yup I bet this is real....and this has nothing to do with the reserved list. So much stuff has been printed as a judge foil off the reserve list....phyrexian negator for one. Survival of the Fittest for another. The list goes on.
Once they print a foil FoW, though.....that will be the day. Card will probably be going for insane amounts though. Like over $200 at least.
As for printing EDH judge foils instead of legacy staples, why? There are so many legacy cards that aren't available in foil that are staples, like FoW. Trust me, legacy players want to pimp their deck out more than EDH players do. A lot of cards in EDH are already available in foil; not the case with legacy.
Nice pick though dreadnought looks better in the old frame IMO.

Judges play EDH, not Legacy. There are a ton of EDH staples that aren't available in foil or are hard to find or really expensive in the few foil versions available. To name a few:
Obviously a lot of these cards will overlap with Legacy. I would much rather see these kinds of cards as Judge promos than Vintage or Legacy specific cards.

Agreed. Although many Legacy players pimp out their decks, it's even more common for EDH to be pimp. Not to mention the cost of a full legacy deck being pimped. In tournaments, I think non-foil is the way to go because how foils are prone to warping... it can be easy to determine when a foil is on top the deck, unless the entire deck is foil.
And LOL @ SCG selling it for $100. Haha. These are made for judges and high rollers, not for regular Legacy players.

At Pro Tour San Diego, judges received only 1 newly released card (Natural Order), when 2 new cards is the norm. Andy Hekct (wotc judge manager) said he'd fix this issue via mail.
So either judges have begun receiving these in the mail (I haven't yet) or this was given out at GP Madrid. In either case, a whole lot more of them will be on ebay soon.
I was a bigger fan of the playset of Portuegese Dreadnoughts I used to have, or hell even just normal mirage. New border looks like crap with this card, old brown just works so well with many of the older artifacts. At 100 bucks a pop won't see too many Legacy tournaments sporting these.
Haha! I love that you were attentive enough to catch Glimmervoid, but not to catch that the subject of the photo is totally not a dude.

Meh, I remember buying a judge promo Balance for $140 when it first came out and I still don't regret it (best art evar). Most of them nowadays fall well below that mark though.
I kinda would've liked a new art, but new frame and text is still cool enough for me. We'll see what this levels off at. I'm hoping around the original's price so I can have at least one foil at a similar price with current errata for reference when playing players who aren't familiar. Another reason why I wish I had enough time to judge/go to events.
I think some people don't understand that the Mirrans are the bad guys. Arcbound Ravager is Mirran. Phyrexia are the good guys coming in to conquer an evil, evil world.

We didn't receive any new cards at GP Madrid. We seem to have had the same problem and "The Power That Be" said they would correct the problem through mail orders...

Well, that would be a neat foil list. What's with Arcane Denial, though? I haven't seen that card played in years, nevermind considering it for EDH. Now, a fancy, alternate art, Mind's Eye would be neat.

Maybe someone got it sooner then the rest...
Some didnt receive any :-/.. they ran out of foils, so no this one is not from Madrid...
Someone must have reported the guy - they took the auction down. (Ebay did - not the seller)
Thanks for your interest in this listing:
200445820518 - MTG 1X DCI FOIL PHYREXIAN DREADNOUGHT NM LOW RESERVE!!!
We're sorry to tell you that the item isn't available for purchase anymore. We removed the listing because it likely fell into one of these three categories:
-- The listing doesn't follow eBay guidelines.
-- The item isn't allowed on eBay or can only be listed under certain conditions.
-- The listing contains pictures or words that may have violated copyright or trademark rights.
This is disappointing for everyone, but sometimes it's an action we have to take to protect you as a buyer.
I judged at Pro Tour San Diego. I just recieved 4x copies of these in the mail from wizards. In it there was a note saying they should have been handed out there, but were not by mistake. Just wanted to confirm this is real.

I must get one of these.
I hope they make references to the Dreadnaught and other iconic phyrexian cards in the new Mirrodin block.

Agreed. I play it in my sphinx/mill deck.
I'd love to get this promo but hopefully it will go down by next month.
