Joraga Warcaller looks pretty respectable. Elf Lord 5-8 for Standard, at least. Right now, if you look closely, you can see that Elf Lord 5-8 is actually Eldrazi Monument. People! You need to be comparing this guy to Monument, not Ant Queen. So I've prepared some arguments in both cards' favor.
Monument:
Protects creatures better
Adds Flying
Harder to kill
Buffs other creatures besides elves
Warcaller:
You choose how much mana to pay
"Overruns" better
Does something when you have no creatures on the board or in hand (topdeck mode)
Better in multiples
Well this made my night. This in Legacy with Priest of Titania and Elvish Archdruid... I'm speechless. And happy. Very, VERY happy. And Tny, you listen to VNV Nation. You win.

I edit my posts a lot after submitting them. Deal with it.
Did Wizards just make Elves better? I think it did.
I was honestly hoping to see more cards for the underdog U/W/R deck that just recently hit Top 8, but it looks like we're getting better Elves and Jund (when I say Jund, I'm talking about Comet Storm.)
This is a little disappointing.
Well, I guess I know what decks I'll be running.

its kinda late so this might be retarded, but what happens when you play two. for instance you play warcaller A and kick it twice, giving all your elves plus two. then you play another one (warcaller B) kicking it once. A would get a +1 counter on it, and B would get 3 +1 counters from A. giving A more more counters. unless the counter ability only activates when it etb's. it doesn't look that way to me though, but it's very late. sorry.

Things that will kill magic, according to mtgs:
power nine,reserved list,snow lands,rules changes,planeswalkers,auras,legends,mythics,rares, counterspell,tarmogoyf,cascade,affinity,equipment, noobs,powergamers, mods, net-deckers,fnm,the dci,wotc,negate,psychatog,dredge,bloodbraid elf,people flicking their cards,fairies,cryptic command,dark ritual,eldrazi,path to exile,new formats,new products,yu-gi-oh,baneslayer angel,lotus cobra,core sets,and Mark Rosewater,especially Mark Rosewater.
Is anybody else mad that this is just supporting a existing deck and gives no new options? Replace visionarys maybe in eldrazi green and this late game is the ultimate accesory to a green ramp indestructable elf deck.
Crazy just crazy its a lord and super solider for elves. Giving this thing plus one counters beefs up your elfs stupid. Your dumb as hell if you don't think elfs won't make good use of this guy.

..say what? replace visionaries? you nuts? those elves fill the purpose of..
i think the real card which must be dropped in eldrazi elves in favor of Joraga is overrun as an early DoJ can sometimes screw eldrazi, drawing overrun is pointless.
Did I miss the fact that this is retarded good in Green/White? I don't get the whole high horse thing about why its not "great". It is. Its DAMN good. Drop it for one, oran-reef, ajani. Great its a 3/3 you bolt I vines. Swing Away.
Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.

This card is pretty godly. I can't even believe people are even doubting this card, it's good enough to center an archetype of itself. I don't really know why people are focused on shoving it in Eldrazi Green.
The card's a regular lord at 3, a big lord at 5, and a ridiculous lord at 7. It's kind of like Figure of Destiny in that it's never a dead card, except it's not always good at 1 mana.
There's also one thing I'd like to mention at the "It's just gonna get bolted" argument: You can fetch it with Ranger of Eos. They're going to have to bolt two of them and you're still going to have a 3/2 Ranger left behind if they do. This card does not belong in Eldrazi Green. It's going to belong in GW or GWx Elves.
Still not convinced? White also has Ajani Goldmane. They're not going to have enough single target removal to stop this deck.

White will push that deck over the edge. It's brings the control and removal necessary for green to stay alive. With two lords, oran rief's for a not-too-sucky t2 lord, recursive critters and lifegain through nissa.....I see a serious tier 1 possibility here. Also, at the speed this deck comes out, it may be just fast enough to pull wins away from control, which I suspect will be strong from the already-revealed jace, and 139 cards to go.

And you, too, are one of us, and yet you are not. In your words I hear anger, hatred. I see a darkness that is not cold and lifeless, but is alive and moving, like a living entity. I feel caged, trapped, a yearning for escape. --Death Gate Cycle Volume 3: Fire Sea

Comet Storm does not help Jund AT ALL.
Thank you. I was going to go back and edit that, but it looks like you caught me.
Bloodbraid Elf and Bituminous Blast make it a liability.

...........Shin on the textless Cryptic Command
Sadly, as an Eldrazi player.. thats not really a god hand. Thats a typical hand.
Not that I don't want this card to be true...I just don't want my dreams of Total Elf Domination to be crushed.
Now where's that multikicker Soldier Lord?

Drop him for 5, vines to protect, soul's might next turn, BAM. +5/+5 to all elves.
Or if you have white..
sigil-captain drop this card for 1. 1 mana for a 3/3 that gives a +2/+2 boost to other elves? Awesome.
Quest for the gemblades is also pretty bonkers with this.
Imagine, sigil captain is out, drop this guy for one, pop the quest, and then play soul's might.
You have a 14/14 that boosts elves +13/+13. All for 6 mana. (Not going to happen too often, but potential like that makes this epic.)
