I am most excited about Join the Ranks (in limited) and the manland (in Standard). Join is huge in the proposed UW defensive ally archetype that wins with either Blademaster or mill-ally (or mally for short) I was discussing yesterday. The manland isn't anything to write home about necessarily, but so far its my second favorite of the (6? card) cycle. I don't think being a land and having such a waify butt positions it well to fit into the aggro decks it would probably need to reside in (what with colonnade being the default control manland).
Canopy Cover is a great evasion aura. It's a shame we don't have "simple kicker" in WWK, because it would have been nice to have:
Kicker 1: Draw a card.
Quest for the Nihil Stone
(R)
Enchantment
Whenever an opponent discards a card, you may put a quest counter on Quest for the Nihil Stone.
At the Beginning of each opponent's upkeep, if that player has no cards in hand and Quest for the Nihil Stone has two quest counters on it, you may have that player lose 5 life
Wait, a card that goes even better with burning inquiry than Megrim? Sign me up...my T2 discard deck just got about 5 times better...love burning inquiry.
There must be something I'm not seeing, because it looks suspiciously like blue just got a way to get two fetches out of a single fetchland, as well as a one mana 2/2 flying haste creature, and for some reason people think this is ...MEH?!?

How is that good with burning inquiry? just because it gives you the counters? So does blightning and mind rot, which also happen to work towards the goal of having your opponent hellbent.

Jacerator is an aggro deck - it just wins by attacking the library, it doesn't really control the board other than to play a few Fogs

No wonder blue mages get a bad rap!
It's not really a one mana haste creature. If you cast it turn one, it obviously can't attack that turn. If you cast it later it can, but you're spending two mana on it.
I like the Quest for my Nath EDH deck. Wind Zendikon looks like a nice foil for turn 1 Lacerator. I wish Join The Ranks was some kind of multi-kicker Ally-maker, but maybe that's to come. The other two are completely blah to me, which probably means they are awesome.
Having played Allies for a while, and done fairly well with them, I have just two things to say: (a) Allies are totally undderated, and make certain bad cards look good (see: Call to Heel), and (b) this card is AWESOME. Not just one Ally, but 2? A sequence of Kazandu, Kabira, Join is just sick. Heck, even in TD mode you'll often still have an ally or two sitting there that this can help.

There are two types of people in this world: people who think that countermagic is the most powerful effect in the game and people who aren't morons.
My color is Purple. I value diversity, smashed color pies and obsolete Inquest articles. At my best, I can redefine MTG in a new and wonderful way. At my worst, I can end up as an Unhinged joke. My symbol is not defined. My enemies are 5 old and bureaucratic angry colors.
Oh man Wind Zendikon is going to be fun with layers I can tell. Put it on your Dread Statuary. Swing for 2 in the air and if you have the extra mana, make it 4 instead. Then even if they do kill it, you get your Dead Statuary back. It's not bad at all IMO.

Blightning and Mind Rot are THREE mana each, burning inquiry is ONE.
Turn one: drop Quest
Turn two: Burning Inquiry
Turn three: Blightning (or something to that effect) to finish off their hand and then they are taking 5 a turn...

They've likely still got like 3-5 cards left in their hand at that point...
I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.
Canopy cover: nice way of preventing 2-for-1 against non-instant speed spot removal, but still kind of expensive to work with.
Join the Ranks: So...it's raise the alarm for 2 more because of typing? It'll be decent in allies since they're so starved of instant speed allies, but that's about it.
Quest: My bounce-discard deck may be asking for this, but we'll see. Looks pretty strong as a rack variant.
Wind: Great limited, maybe (depends on how the tempo plays out. The faster the tempo, the weaker this card is). It's interesting how it's a 1 mana 2/2 with an attacking cost of U. If limited is fast, this will seriously hurt you if they disfigure it early.
Manland: It's ok, but the cost is a bit high for sorcery speed. Works in mono___ control as a 4-of, too.

I know we like to live in that wonderfully obtuse land where our opponents just sit and pass all of their turns staring at us across the table with a bit of spittle hanging from their mouths, but no, they shouldn't have that many cards left in their hand at that point, not if they're playing land and spells.
jeez, if they haven't been dropping any spells by that time then there's no need to nuke their hand. I was playing FNM last week and most decks were down to two cards in hand by turn 3-4 without the help of my discard...especially jund/red wins...if you're not playing your hand in that deck then you're not actually playing the deck.
Burning Inquiry doesn't actually decrease their hand size...
...And I never said it did. The point is to get two quest counters on the enchantment for R. You can also mess up their strategy, since it's a random discard, and filter out a crap hand for something slightly better. Blightning is a good 3 mana follow up, but I'd rather wait to have Megrim out at that point.
Here's a play sequence that I'd bet will happen at least once.
"Canopy Cover on my Lorescale Coatl."
"Bolt your Coatl in response."
"Hah, Vines my Coatl in response to Bolt!"
"...okay, that works for me."
Seriously though, I could see it working out -- not tier 1 stuff, but fun. Just remember to save a Negate for that Bolt.
Vines of Vastwood actually gives troll shroud too, so the Coatl player still ends up on top there. Canopy Cover reminds me too much of little kids randomly beating face with Slippery Bogle + Favor of the Overbeing not to love it.

If they started with seven on the play and all you've done as discard is hit them with blightning on T3, they will still be at 1 card in hand even if they played a land and something else each turn. If they're on the draw and/or didn't drop something every turn it'll only be more. Jund definitely won't be at 2 cards in hand T3, and even RDW would have to try.

The mana cost may be hefty, but finally, Kabira Evangel has a soul mate!
Uncommon colorless manland sounds cool too. Easy to use manlands are always nice for limited.

Yes, the one mana blue enchantment almost makes it unfair in a deck that would run 4 wasteland/strip mine and a boatload of fetches.
