You have to think that this guy isn't operating alone- he has a hole pack of allies backing him up. this means that he shouldn't be the only ally on the field when you play him. Pinging a creature is fine, but for 6 mana I would think that the bare minimum would be 3 damage. So if you have 2 allies out and then play him, you bolt a creature, which is good for turn 6 for having a 3/2 body left... That will continue to deal damage each turn. Repeat removal is always first pick on my drafts.
This guy is fun with lifelink.

"Wizards could put $100 bills in packs and people would complain about how they were folded."
Another thing that people are underestimating about this guy is that, well, he's an Ally. Unfortunately that means that he's going to have a bit of a tax to his mana cost, sort of like the Arcane tax.
He doesn't just enter the battlefield and ping something, though. He also pumps your Bears (Oran-Rief Survivalist) and triggers other allies who are already on the field.
I strongly believe that Allies will be a playable strategy in Limited and may show up in constructed. It's a cool mechanic.

There are, at most, 20 allies in the set. I don't think that's enough to be good in limited, considering there will be a few rare ones, and they're spread across all 5 colors(most likely).
My only issue with this guy is his mana cost, he could've cost less. I'd be happy with a 2/1 or 2/2 for 2RR with this effect, so unless Allies have a decent ramp theme backing them up, I doubt he'll see any constructed play.

Since we've only seen them in green and red, there's no evidence that they're spread evenly among the colors. From what we've seen so far, they could be skewed toward the red/green side of the wheel. Also, I expect that the majority of them will be at common with just a few uncommons and rares/mythics for constructed or as bombs. Besides, the majority of the ones we've seen are cost efficient. Oran-Rief Survivalist and Kazuul Warlord are awesome.

I severely doubt you'll be able to effectively make an ally draft deck. Either you won't get many, since they'll be so good that everyone takes them at first pick, or they'll cost too much and be underpowered.
I'd prefer to go black in limited.
Sealed they might possibly work... but then again, Sealed is based a ton on luck.
So far all the allies spoiled have been in green and red... if this pattern continues I doubt if it will be an especially difficult archetype to draft, especially if there are a few common allies (such as the survivalist)
Drafting G/R allies while someone else drafts G/W non-allies won't be terribly different from drafting U/W fish in lorwyn while someone else goes U/B fae because the G/W player wont value the survivalist as anything more than a bear.

Speculation off a few cards always makes me laugh. Doesn't anyone (other than me) believe Wizards know what they are doing by now?!? This guy will be useful as an ally draft deck or sealed if you get a few decent ones..
He won't set the world on fire but will win games and there's the potenial that allies will be awesome (& certainly if no-one else is drafting them). I no longer expect 1 archetype to be overly powerful.
Think of 5 colour in Conflux - good if you can get it and you could be very well rewarded but not definitly a draft and win....
Anyone who played in Eventide will remember playing in Draft or Sealed with Outrage Shaman, and I would say this card is inferior to that one. Outrage Shaman did more damage by itself when it came into play and cost less. It never saw any Constructed play, so this won't either, and frankly, it could be better in Limited too. For 6 mana the body this guy has is horribly small, and while the Ally synergies are nice, I don't think it really makes up for it. If this had more toughness, which would make it more resilient against creatures cheaper than it, it might be good but, as is, I probably woulnd't first pick this guy. And that's saying something for a creature that has inbuilt removal.
all the Allies seem to like starting off with small stats because they all build off the other allies. just don't play him right after DoG and he should be fine.

Methinks this is one of those cards that gets better with the second set. If there isn't enough Ally support for it now, there will be by Worldwake. Buy 'em while they're cheap?

The minotaur ally "lord" on the other hand is rare and would potentially go up with some allied support.

Look I play Warp World and This guy hitting the field with any number of Allies along whit it will make it worh it's some what high cost. Post Warp World this guy says U win if there are 4 other Allies on the field, because you make sure it's ablitiy wil trigger 5 times for 5 damage.

1) Only hits creatures.
2) Just use Ob Nixilis and then you don't have to run Allies.
No, because the basic is far better to have.
Besides, this isn't "repeated", since you'd have to have an ample amount of allies, which I doubt you can in draft.

Yeah... I'm not sure what he's talking about.
If there are a few common Allies, it will be really easy to get seven to ten allies in a deck.
