Probably unplayable in Standard, but yes, it would be interesting to draft allies in Limited. But if everyone caught on that allies are pretty good in Limited, I think there would only be diluted amounts of allies in drafted decks, making them less effective?
I like the allys, but I think that they wont be played outside of limited. Or casual. It's lame that Bramblewood Paragon is rotating, becuase most of these cards seem to be warriors with +1/+1 counters.

I'm waiting for the Ally lord that makes them cost way less....and therefore usable.
I had a theory about that ... maybe an Artifact with some similarity to Skyship Weatherseed, just more catered to Allies.
I already have a feeling flying airships are going to be in this set, what better as an artifact to carry a bunch of these guys around ... which translated to playing the game means "make 'em cheaper"?
Another theory ... they keep talking about "coin" in their flavor-texts ... maybe an artifact that's literally a "Wallet" of some variety. Remove a coin counter from Adventurer's Purse, reduce the cost of an Ally card.

I just opened a Planar Chaos booster and pulled an Extirpate and a Damnation in the same pack.
It looks uncommon here. What is the deal? Rare or uncommon?
Definitely uncommon. I see silver and it's got a very "uncommon" feel and power level to it. Not something you'd want at common for limited, but not nearly pushed enough for rare.

God I wish this pyromancer could blast the dome of the opponent. No really, if Mirrorweave were still in standard and this guy could do target creature or player:
1 Pyromancer on field + 3 Other random creatures + Mirrorweave + Playing another pyromancer = target player takes 25 damage (Is that player dead yet?)
Oh well, and yeah their better be a way to make these allys cheaper to play, because seriously wizards who in the right mind is going to pay 6 mana for a lesser red mage that can only strike other creatures and is a 3/2. The minotaur maybe +1 Toughness and -1 CC, but he barely sticks out any better, I expect something to make these guys cost 2 or prehaps 3 less to play. Yeah the minotaur acts a pseudo lord and needs you to keep playing allys to make them better and make himself look good but with their casting cost... ICK! ICK! ICK! FREAKING GROSS!!!! DISGUSTING!!
Their really is a part of me who really wants to play with these, but the cost is what drives me off.
If nothing else, it's nice to see one of the Guild Wars concept artists doing Magic art.

Hey, I'm not the only one who noticed this! Hooray!
He should deal damage based on the ally's power, simply because they seem to grow like hell. As he is, he's way too vulnerable to do anything special.
If you drop him with a single other Ally on the field, you can shock another creature. If you have 2 other allies, you Bolt a creature.
If he sticks long enough for you to drop another ally, you can do it again.
He's expensive, yes, but if he resolves in Limited he usually will pay for himself by killing something. This guy is a late game card advantage machine that I would first-pick all day. Very strong for an uncommon.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure people can count that 3 allies make 3 damage. Still very expensive card that will hardly kill creatures bigger than itself. And the ally tribe is nothing fantastic for now. You have to consider the power if its tribe before you "first pick" a tribal card. He's not a "machine", he just gets you one card ahead (or one less card behind). And then you're tapped out for a 3/2 that will do nothing at this stage of the game. At uncommon, remember we had shriekmaw not long ago.
Not saying the card is bad. Just saying it's nowhere near a powerhouse.
I know that people can count, I'm just spelling it out so that it has more impact. In Limited, the best things you can have are removal and must-answer threats. This guy is both - he'll probably kill something and provoke a kill spell, netting you card advantage.

3/2 for 6 in red is bad, and on it's own it'll only do 1 damage when it comes into play(and only to a creature). On the other hand with enough ally's this will trigger all their abilities and be a sort of uber Flametounge Kavu. Limited weak on it's own, strong with enough ally's, Constructed just weak.
The interesting thing is that this shows that ally's can do things other than put +1/+1 counters on. I'm getting a sort of sliver vibe from the whole ally thing.
I wouldn't first pick this at 6 mana, unless somehow tribal ally is viable in draft. Then again, 6 mana means you're playing him at the bomb level, probably turn 8 or 9. I dunno, doesn't seem THAT good to me unless you have a lot of allies.

Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
It is also a may ability which is huge since FTK could not be played in some instances due to FTK killing himself.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!
1. Baneslayer Angel 2. Birds of Paradise 3. Lightning Bolt 4. Honor of the Pure 5. Goblin Chieftain
My top 5 Zendikar cards:
1. Eternity Vessel 2. Chandra Ablaze 3. Beastmaster Ascension 4. Ob Nixilis, the Fallen 5. Rampaging Baloths
When I draft, I'm going allies only. Better be some DAMN fine manafixing.
