I remember that some of the official cards that are sent from wizards looked really weird in terms of font/compression and the like. This could be one of these, but it looks blockier than usual for those (does anyone have any of the earlier ones that I'm referring to for comparison?)
[edit - ah, it's confirmed. Kind of like a non-P3K world Rolling Earthquake for Jund. Interesting, I don't know if it really has a home, maybe in Jund Ramp as a finisher/sweeper?]
Received it from what? If you have confidential sources, that is cool and all, but since another person received it, it probably isn't that confidential.

My signature was created by Zaphod of High~Light Studios. He's brilliant.
There is a card named "Lavalanche" in ARB, confirmed by the Orb.
Just sayin'.

Several years ago, WotC apparently surveyed Magic players across the globe. They found that people liked turning things sideways, and hated LD. This is the result:
Probably real. Wizards sends terrible renders all the time. If it would be fake, the original poster would have made more effort.
Also, please update the topic title. The card is obviously called Lavalanche with an E at the end. Not only do I dislike spelling errors in general, but making such an error in a very important topic title is just a sign of rush and ignorance.

Looks legit to me. The image we have isn't of the card itself, perhaps a mockup of some sort, but the card is feasible. However, if it is real, it is the only card with "he or she" in the rules text.
It wasn't a known name in the orb before this, fits the Jund theme (big mana, X spells, mass burn/destruction), and it seems legit. I've seen really crappy renders before on totally real cards.
Also it fits in the good old bad pun megacycle of Shards block. Scourglass? Lavalanche? Yes, please!

Assuming this is real, it marks a new board-sweeper for jund, which is good, cause jund never gets anything epic except maybe the occasional dragon or something. I would like this to be an instant, but I guess that would be a bit too broken, I'll still probably play it though, since it seems like it hoses face with x >= 4.
Stop calling fake people. Zenogais confirmed it 3 posts in. Unless this is a hoax 4 years in the making their not collaborating on this. It's real.
As for the actual card, it's a little expensive to use as a first resort board sweeper. I could see it being used as a 1 or 2 of in 5c-esque control decks since it doubles as a finisher.
I think it is real since name-mana cost-ability seem ok. This card is terrible by the way, pretty much one of the junks of the set, 3 colors, pretty expensive and bad effect meh.
"Bad" effect? It's a scalable Flame Wave without the super-restrictive mana cost. Does not kill you or your own creatures. What else do you want? As for the "3 colors" thing, uhhh... have you paid attention to Shards block at all?

In a lot of cases, it will cost less than Martial Coup for a sweeper (granted in 3 colors). This card might help Jund Control become competitive in Block.
That could simply be a mock up of the card. It checks out in the orb. The wording seems a bit off though. He and she aren't used very often and that strikes me as odd more than anything else.
Sorry about the poor quality, that's how I received it.
The card is real.
WoTC sends out poor renders in emails EVERY set. This is nothing new.
Won't see any competitive play I'm guessing, and isn't even that fun for casual...but still will see play there.
