Times like this make glad to be an MTGO player. There may be awful lag and several crashes a day, but at least all the cards have their updated Oracle wording. Plus I don't have to look at those awful cards from Mirrodin that had no colors for the mana symbols. That idea sure didn't last very long.
How could they make Tetsuo Umezawa a human warrior, he is a archer for goodness sake look at his bow.
At least Karona, False God now works more like she used too, makes me want to put together a Avatar deck.
He also has a samurai blade - as a 'hero' or 'legend' he is much more likely to have earnt his status as a sword wielding samurai then as a simple archer. Though you are correct he does have a bow.

Hi all, I am a new poster, longtime lurker.
I really believe that Engineered Plague just got way better, epically in Extended. Arcbound Ravager is now a Beast, so E-plauge takes it out. Also naming Human could destroy someone's board. I'm really not happy with this change. I could understand changes when new cards are printed such as adding druid or human, however with no reprints coming, you could never be sure of card's types without checking oracle. This will impact casual players and tournament players alike.
What's next will Goblin Grenade become Sorcery - Goblin?
Well, if they reprint Goblin Grenade in one of these two mini-blocks and give it Tribal...
And people, calm down. They can always errata things again in the other way. Ok, now we have no more mummies and dinosaurs, but if WOTC makes a block and has those as central tribes, they'll come back.
How could they make Tetsuo Umezawa a human warrior, he is a archer for goodness sake look at his bow.
In the story, Tetsuo rarely used his bow compared to his blades. In fact, he gave his own bow to his lieutenant and archer par excellence, Tor Wauki. Since there are some people in the creative that actually know
the books, this change was made with that in mind. Note that Tor Wauki is indeed a Human Archer now.

You Mean Tor Wauki and his see threw muscle shirt. Yeah, he knows the ladies are watching.
As for people complainging about all the errata. Someone PLEASE tell me in all the ranting and raving, where is one or two major changes in creature types that is really going to effect someone? Other than casual taking a hit, I can't see anyting that will cause grief.
I kind of had a problem with that, but didn't think it was worth mentioning.
Having never actually read the original novel, and basing my opinion soley on popular culture's many interpretations of the story, I think Zombie in inaccurate, and it would probably be better of as a Horror, or a Construct, or both.
EDIT: Abomination probably would have been best, but they got rid of that.

Of course the errata was made (theoretically) to reflect what you could guess looking at the card itself. The fact that Tetsuo does clearly have a bow means with this in mind if someone asked you "is Tetsuo Umezawa an archer" the average person would probably respond yes.
-------------------------
As for this stuff affecting anyone honestly not so much, (though I have been burned throwing a Bird Maiden in a red/white bird soldier deck only to be informed that it isn't actually a bird, though to be fair it hasn't actually been a bird ever so this is more from my guessing at what the oracle update would probably be. But on the other hand the oracle updates have been set up in a way so that you'd expect your guess to be right, and yet it often isn't.)
I think that what gets people angry about this is that when you look at a card, you expect to know what it does. Granted that in most cases creature type doesn't matter so much (if it happens to be Goblin, Elf, etc. it very well could matter a lot), but the fact that when you look at a card and something is different on it seems strange. It isn't as severe as the cards with the "if you played it from your hand wording" as it doesn't affect gameplay as much, but is more just a desire for things to remain the way that they are to the extent that that is possible. The fact that Wizards has been very inconsistent in their approach to matters doesn't help (at first revising creature types away if they were not supported (leading to some creature losing types like archer only to have archer return and have the creature lack its printed and relevant type), then backing away on that, then doing it as a matter of course to line up reprints to the race/class model, and then finally changing everything at once once keeping track of what had been reprinted and where got to be too much).
I do kind of wish that they had just kept creature types the way they were and limited themselves to functional reprints. The only exceptions that I am seeing are where a creature type didn't exist and when it is added there are old creatures that are obviously an example of that type (Golems being the go to example, and when I say obvious I mean that it is in the name of the card).
If you had read the novel, you'd know it is totally inaccurate - the original monster wasn't even made of body parts as pop-culture suggests, but a artificial lifeform made up from scratch. Golem would be a outstanding good fit. But I don't really care - the card is based on the stereotypes anyway. -.-
greetings
Z
I've read the novel, and I'm not sure the exact method of The Creature's creation is ever described. "Zombie" is probably the most obvious creature type to most, so it's a fair fit. There might also be some sort of Creative policy against non-artifact Constructs, but that's just a guess.
I really really like the creation or better the Use of the Metathran Suptype. It makes sence since they aren't humans anymore with the whole different anatomy Urza gave them like the muscular body and so on.
But why... why haven't Phyrexians get their one Phyrexian tribe? A Phyrexian isn't a construct neither a zombie nor a minion nor a carrier nor a skeleton and no golem. Its a former human or other living beeing compleated with metal parts and others. They are minions but not like Braids or so.
Phyrexians are Zombies like Metathran are Humans. Namely not. I hope they correct this mess sooner or later as it would make sense for nearly all cards named Phyrexian *smth*.
And please no Phyrexian Horror or smth like this because nearly all phyrexians are some kind of horror to look at
EDIT: And Execute as Instant-Phyrexian as Yawgmoth Will Sorcery-Phyrexian would be great with Tribal :D... well they would never do that....
It's just a bunch of creatures of the same plane. It's not like all things that came from phyrexia can have baby's with eachother. It's not one species, but many different creatures of the same plane.
Like we invade Mars with Humans, Dogs, Cats and Battleflies. You'll get: Earthling Human, Earthling Dog, Earthling Cat, Earthling Battlefly. On mars we suddenly are not the same creature type. I'll stay a Human, the dog a dog, the cat a cat etc.

hey i have managed to evolve my axolotls by feeding them thyroid glands the thyroxine contained in these gland is enough to change these water dwelling creatures into land based creatures

Tay, that's not evolution. It's metamorphosis. Evolution means descent with heritable modification – individuals cannot evolve, unless they're Pokemon.

(about the English language) It's kinda like a raft that was cobbled together from parts of three different boats and since then has been kept barely afloat with crude repairs every time a leak appeared.
Ox and Bull are both cattle. I fail to see the problem.
True.
And I rather like the flavor of the type change - becoming an Ox (i.e. being castrated) seems like a very good reason for this Bull to be Raging.

When do all these changes become legal anyways?
Nothing says budget help like receiving $5000 in recommendations.
I guess leaving out Time Walk, Timetwister, and Ancestral Recall is budget.
Thanks, but back to the more important issue at hand; what are we going to do about Raging Bull?
