I agree with the Extirpate comment. Graveyard tricks are extremely shaky now since almost any deck can splash black for a one casting cost answer that is not counterable or respondable. As much as Extirpate has saved me many of times, I think that it is way too powerful, but then again extended needed it badly.
On the note of the other card, Pyromancer's Swath...
I like this card since I am a red/black mage at heart and I've been screaming that red/black needs to be a viable tier one deck color combo. And since I dont really like going agro (which seems the only way red/black can even compete now.) This enchantment will be extremely good for me. The discard at end of turn bothers me not. I am thinking of this enchantment with spells like Browbeat..7 damage or 3 card? That is a bit more of a hard decision. As mentioned, this with Madness, namely Fiery Temper, is great. I was hoping for more red/black madness cards. But this could be good with reanimate spells. Discard a Bogardan Hellkite and Dread Return it the turn after. If I read the card correctly the enchantments cumalitive. So if you have out 2 of them do they do +4 damage. If so this is sick in multiples. I might even use this with spells like Consume Spirit (but do you gain 2 extra life? Probably not) But I wouldn't suggest using Char 6 damage to any target and 4 to you..not sure if that is a good thing to do. Lightning Helix seems good. 5 damage to anything and gain 3 life. This seems like a better card to use than Furnace of Rath since it is only sources you control. How would this effect split damage cards like Electrolyze or Fire/Ice? I gather you can decide where the extra 2 damage goes. 3 to one source and 1 to the other. That is my guess anyways. I like this card a lot.
then why build the deck that relies soley on getting a lock? Mono white control is going to be a good deck in standard if things keep going the way thier going, and the last win condition even thought about should be a pseudo-chant lock.
