Those creatures all seem a little above the curve for common creatures. 3/1 for 1W, 2/3 for 2U and 3/3 for 2G all seem pretty efficient in their respective colors. Although Cloud Elemental seems generally better than the blue one.
The black and red ones are obviously less exciting tho, although they seem to be decent for commons. Not that there aren't better creatures, such as Twisted Abomination which was printed at common and costs 5B instead of 3BB, but it has regenerate and swampcycling sooooo...
An assassin who looks like he's blowing some kind of powder (like the martyrs from CS) and it creates "invisible fire". It is a thin grey skinned warrior with a third eye in the middle of his forehead. The eye has no pupil and is glowing pure white. Another man has the entire top of his body charred and white from heat, and a red-hot sword falls from his hand, although no fire is shown in the art. There was a second imolated warrior in the background whose body was being ravaged by fire. Cyril van der hagen said this artwork was very special, in that Wizards asked for it to be in full portrait scale, so that it may be printed on the full card.
I don't know if one of these cards fits the description. If not, then there could be more textless cards besides the cycle.
Now we have 2/2 for 2R, 3/3 for 3R, and 4/4 for 4R! See you in core set, Fomori!
I really like green and blue ones. It's a pity Phantasm don't have Flying, but extra toughness compensates it. And Nessian Courser becomes new green staple (buy-buy, Trained Armodon!)...
hmm a dredge land is interesting. it would allow dredge decks to expand their mana base (albeit sowly) even after they begin dredging.

Demon’s Horn has a reputation in multiplayer games, Lursen said.“Usually if somebody in multiplayer plays a Demon’s Horn, we all just immediately attack that person, because he’s going to win,” Lursen said.
Yeah, they're vanilla cards in a non-core set.....but I don't think that that was their aim. It was definitly to find a way to make a new textless card. And it will work out well.
What makes me happy is that they're all pretty decent for limited, especially the green and red ones. The blue one I guess is fairly 'meh' for three mana, but at least it holds of grey ogres in combat. The white one maybe a bit too vulnerable, but at 2 mana for 3 power it has to have some stock. The black one is the one that will really be interesting, as a 5/3 for 5 may not really be too amazing. Maybe as a 5/4 I'd say he'd definitly see the maindeck. 3 toughness may make me wary to make the 5 mana investment. Then again, black is in serious need of common beaters in draft and sealed, so perhaps if you're playing black main he won't have too much trouble squeezing his way in.
God I love rumor season when it kicks off.....

Excited for M13 Limited? What do you think the format will look like? Head over to the limited forum and let us know what you think.
All are aimed at limited and quite strong, however Nessian course as a green 3/3 for 2G(read more easily splashed than Trained Armadon) might see play in some sort of stompy/beats deck.
as long as call of the herd is around, there is no need to play the vanilla 3/3. I really want some more info on the new dragon!!!!! i hope it does have some board clearing CIP abilities =]

Magus of the Path cannot Attack or Block.

I like the idea of textless cards in packs, but I'd rather they did it the way they do foils, where there's a texted version and then you have a scant chance of getting a textless version.
It's a shame none of these cards are really, like, good. White one might be played a bit, but I don't even have high hopes for it, and the rest are pure limited material.

Our rebel is pretty useless without a cat, rebel or warrior lord.
I dont understand why blue gets a vanilla Illusion, if it was a Merfolk the creature would have been better. All this creatures seems to be secondant creature types except the zombie. Which doesn't make sense to me. Than there is a Nomad Giant. Shouldn't this be a Giant Nomad?

Tay, that's not evolution. It's metamorphosis. Evolution means descent with heritable modification – individuals cannot evolve, unless they're Pokemon.

Blade of the Sixth Pride wants to be enchanted by Griffon Guide SO MUCH! that's a 4 turn clock, which can partially survive targeted removal. I also like it as a budget Savanah Lions!

When I was young, the smallest trick of light,
Could catch my eye,
Then life was new and every new day,
I thought that I could fly.
I believed in what I hoped for,
And I hoped for things unseen,
I had wings and dreams could soar,
I just don't feel like flying anymore.
I take it back... Vanilla creatures can be sexy if the power/cost relation works. I really like the chemistry in that white weenie.

tap enchanments and tribal stuff?!?
crazy my girlfriend has been wanting to make a good tribal deck so bad she went back to snakes of kamigawa, and that blue one should be a merfolk since they got that tribe going in Timespiral.
but with both of these pieces of info does it mean somethin like Dragon Roost will come back? dragon tokens of doom
this would help DStorm in the long run
and these textless guys are probly aimed at some of those new tribal cards that will be spewing out of the future

Well, assuming this information is accurate, I'm pretty impressed with Wizards. I guess that's because this is something I would have myself done. The concept of "basic" type creatures is awesome to me. I also really like vanilla creatures that push the power levels without being stupidly good. So 2/3s for 2U and 5/3s for 3BB make me smile. Indeed, players will put them into decks, especially in limited. I think the notion that they're textless means they'll be somewhat collectable as well. I approve.
Now as for the white one...
Blade of the Sixth Pride -
Creature - Rebel Cat Warrior (C)

My card was rare, WW instead of 1W, and not a rebel. And the experts in the Card Creation forum were divided on my design, insisting that it was pushing the power level, even for a rare, and that white creatures shouldn't have power greatert han toughness. And not look at Wizards - printing a card quite superior to my design. I'm surprised. And I'm surprised people's reaction here isn't a bit more "whoa, we have a winner!"
Seriously, the white textless creature pushes the power level of weenies, and definitely constitutes power creep.
As for the idea of tapping enchantments, BOOOOOOOO!

I haven't been around enough to know who is and isn't trustworthy, but I _can_ say this: Future Sight is so crazy that I'm actually inclined to distrust the cards/rumors that seem too simple.
None of those cards are in standard, and none of them have the casting cost of 1W.
A better comparison would be to things like Mistral Charger, as 1W is MUCH different than WW.
With the existence of the Charger, I can see this card existing.
At common, nice.
I love it, personally.

Well, Soltari Priest and Knight of the Holy Nimbus both are. But regardless, it's not an example of "power creep" if it's less powerful than other cards. Creatures have gotten better over the years, not worse.

Well, not really. It's not as good as, at the same cost, White Knight, Silver Knight, Order of Leitbur/Order of the White Shield, Knight of the Holy Nimbus, Soltari Priest, or Soltari Monk, off the top of my head.
None of those cards are in standard, and none of them have the casting cost of 1W.

Fair enough. Ligament Sliver is better. Mistral Charger is better. Mourning Thrull might even be better. I just don't think this card has it.
