Raylen I think was meaning that the guy hunter spoke to could have been lying to get rid of him. Raylen wasn't questioning Hunter, just his source.
what would off colour fetchlands be?
Quote from belannaerThe problem I see with Magus of the Vineyard is that it can make some very degenerate play for you if the stars are right but you are giving your opponent the mana boost first. Meaning if you play this first turn your opponent is going to have at least 3 mana at their disposal on their first turn (helloo dark ritualish sickness) or 4 or even more on their second turn. Do you want to give this potential boost to them? Worst case scenario is that they play something incredibly ridiculous at that early stage of the game and you are out. Most likely they play something and just shock your mana trooper away giving them sick advantage and you are left with nothing but land in play. But I'm not saying it's a bad card. It could turn up to be very very good but I'm afraid that you will end up shooting yourself in the leg too many times with it.
Quote from hideandseek977Hunter, you might have just got someone fired! I mean if it's someone associated with wizards, how many do you think have hot blonde girlfriends or wives? hahahaha. I like the scry cards best, these are just set filler (assuming they're real of course)
Quote from anttiI remember Eladamri's Vineyard used to be quite good in mono green LD deck.
You would play it first turn and always get second turn Winter's Grasp, Thermokarst or Creeping Mold, then play Stampeding Wildebeest + Wall of Blossoms for some new LD cards and fast beats. It's a Shame functional reprint of Wildebeest, Stampeding Serow already rotated out of standard since it would have been nice with Carven Caryatid.
Still, you could play Magus of Vineyard with Creeping Mold, Mwonvuli Acid-Moss and Rolling Spoil to recreate Green LD in standard. With Acid-Moss and some luck you could even get out some 6CC monster on on third turn
Quote from Orange MageYeah, that sounds pretty good! I'll have to give it a go. :munch:A sort of genuine, do-it-yourself hollandaise sauce. I might add a dash of lemon juice for the full effect...
Quote from Barookjust asking because i'm unsure:
if i play a split second spell, is the triggered ability of the amulet put on the stack before or after your split second spell?
"Mind over muscle"
"Slow and steady wins the race"
"A [deck] that is slightly slower and slightly more control-minded than the opposing deck has an edge.
