However I think that the magus will be creatures that are old enchantments that DON'T HAVE activated abilities (i don't think that will be magus that works like seismic assault or greed for example)
I agree that the FS magi aren't likely to have activated abilities, but I think that one of them probably will, like the library is the only land magus to make mana.
Elspeth "we must fight to protect order and justice!"
Tezzeret "No! he will break all my artifacts and stomp my head!"
Vol "powerful dragon must be brought to heel!"
Ajani "**** this Im outta *planeswalks to lorwyn* wow what hell is this place?"
Little lorwyn goblin "this be the place of bad art and Tribes!!!"
All other Alara planeswalkers "hey where did ajani go???"
If a player would draw a card except the first one he or she draws in his or her draw step each turn, that player discards a card instead. If the player discards a card, he or she draws a card. If the player doesn’t discard a card, he or she puts the top card of his or her library into his or her graveyard.

I guess that confirms that the Magus Cycle will be Enchantments on creatures(if this is true that is) and it could mean we will be getting venser in Future Sight as well!
Newer player here, so I don't have the card history down.
But, the only thing that makes sense in a Magus cycle in FS is enchantments. Old enchantments? Maybe.
I love the idea of a Magi Furnace of Rath, but what the other colors possibly do? Ya gotta remember, MaRo is taking a baseball bat to the color pie, and maybe the Magi could be enchantments "shifted" into different colors.
The whole Wotc mixing the color pie was probably a one set thing. I wouldn't be suprised, however, if FS makes a few of those shifts permanent.
Mad props to Dream Merchant for listing the non-blue magus canidates.
The black one is sooo gonna own!
BTW what's the super cool catch phrase this time around?

As much as I'm against the OTT view that this card is going to solo tournaments, cure cancer and make Susan Boyle attractive I'm not really a fan of the opposing camp who think it slaughters puppies and sired Justin Bieber.

Sorry for being slightly off-topic, but does anyone else think the current Oracle text for Chains of Mephistopheles is massively confusing? Even more so than the original text? They have to find a better way to template the card, or else there will be confusion from people who weren't around during Legends.
...is an image of the Future Sight book (I briefly skimmed the thread to see if it was already posted, didn't see it off-hand).
There was just an article recently about the artwork for the books is not supposed to end up on a card (the only exception being Time Spiral, iirc). So the cover likely won't appear on a card.
Um, unless i missed a beat, don't we only know that it's magus of the future?
I mean future sight is the only gatherer hit, but how can we be sure that that's it?I'm not discrediting the therory, but I love playing devil's advocate.
Also If a Hurrican is green, and a earthquake is red, I think a Mealstrom would be blue, but it's just a GIANT whorlpool, so who knows what that effect would be (bounce maybe, or maybe the ulitame -X/O effect.)

Maelstrom doesn't have to refer to whirlpools. Dictionary.com also defines it as "a restless, disordered, or tumultuous state of affairs". (Implying red.)
If it is about whirlpools, I'd be really disappointed if it were something as underwhelming as a -X/-0 effect...

Im thinking that the magus cycle wont actually use an of the cards from the core set. furnace of rath, phyrexian arena, etc. In the context of the future, its possible they could all be preprinted enchantments as well. I doubt that would be the case, but when R&D is involved, you can never tell.
If anyone knows why G0-DRAW was banned I would love it if they would PM me. That guy was pure entertainment 100% of the time. Plus he never publicly responded to his Contraptions "Proof" that never panned out.

We have had lands and artifacts .. so that only leaves enchantments. personally, I would LOVE to see a 1-drop fastbond on a creature. *DROOL*
