jackal pup is an overall BAD card...(meteor)
and if white is speculated to have Savannah lions-whats the big idea?

Whenever enchanted land becomes tapped, everyone goes WHHEEE
your mom uses the stack
Someday all lands will be controlled by all players and all creatures will be equal.
Mmkay, let's take a look at some one drops for each color, eh?
WWhiteW
- Camel
- Eager Cadet
- Icatian Javelineers
- Isamaru, Hound of Konda
- Kami of False Hope
- Martyr of Sands
- Mother of Runes
- Savannah Lions
- Suntail Hawk
Logically, only Mother of Runes, Savannah Lions, and Suntail Hawk would be possible choices. Flying is best in blue and second best in white, so Suntail Hawk will probably be out. Mother of Runes vs Savannah Lions
UBlueU
- Flying Men
- Hapless Researcher
- Merfolk of the Pearl Trident
- Teardrop Kami
Ahh, blue really has no real iconic one drops... That being said, I think Flying Men will be the most obvious choice, due to reasons stated above. (Although hopefully the tokens created won't be called "Flying Men"...that would just be sad..) Flying Men
BBlackB
- Blood Pet
- Carnophage
- Disciple of the Vault
- Festering Goblin
- Stone-Throwing Devils
- Vampire Bats
- Will 'o Wisp
Again, logically speaking, the only possible choices would be Carnophage, Festering Goblin, and Vampire Bats. If White goes with Savannah Lions, then Carnophage will be redundant. Personally, I believe Festering Goblin has a better chance. Festering Goblin vs. Vampire Bats
RRedR
- Jackal Pup
- Mogg Fanatic
- Raging Goblin
I don't think there's any need to list any more. Every one knows these three one drops, red's most iconic ones. Again, the Savannah Lions/Carnophage argument takes out Jack Pup. Between Mogg Fanatic and Raging Goblin, I think the Raging Goblin has the better chance, is iconic even to beginners, and is more "red" overall. Raging Goblin vs Mogg Fanatic
GGreenG
Seds has confirmed Llanowar Elves. Enough said. Llanowar Elves
I should bet on Carnophage as a black spellshaped creature. It won't be too bah-roken to have a 2/2 owner-eating creature on 2d turn (minimum) for a card... And if you have A LOT of them, you're in a big trouble, man
where did anyone confirm elves???and why thats enough???what if he is wrong???
if you will THINK a little (i know its hard) you will get 1 conclusion-elves don't make great sense...
Don't use the phrase 'THINK a little' if you can't even read the entire thread.
Warning issued.
Although I don't know any other specifics, I can confirm that one of the 'shapers makes Llanowar Elf.
Many people on this thread figured as much, anyways.
Like I said, Seds confirmed it. How does Llanowar Elves make no sense? It is the perfect iconic Green creature that shows off one of it's best abilities - mana acceleration. The only other truly iconic one drop for green is Birds of Paradise, and Wizards has routinely said that they would pick the Elves over Birds. Green is not about flying, so why should Green's best creature be a flier? I think they will take this same approach in making the spellshifter tokens. Llanowar Elves is really the only logical choice.
And jeez, what's with the insults? If you had just read the thread, everyone seems to agree with the Elves..
But why would they have jackal pup and savannah lions token makers in the same set? They're both vanilla 2/1s for C, with the only difference being colour. Will-o'-the-wisp doesn't seem overly iconic for black, so I'd be happier if it was carnophage.
Elspeth "we must fight to protect order and justice!"
Tezzeret "No! he will break all my artifacts and stomp my head!"
Vol "powerful dragon must be brought to heel!"
Ajani "**** this Im outta *planeswalks to lorwyn* wow what hell is this place?"
Little lorwyn goblin "this be the place of bad art and Tribes!!!"
All other Alara planeswalkers "hey where did ajani go???"
but a little like the rakdos guildmage don't you think?
anyway-where the heck did anyone confirm that elves is the green one? i got warning for it but i can't find where anyone said it confirmed...
also on the same note-i apologize for going too far last post...

I think I might have an idea about why the Sliver is called "Sliver Legion".
I don't believe in any particular religion but I tend like to read about them occasionally and the name reminded me of somthing I had read. I can't find the book so I can't tell the exact story but heres what I remember.
I seem to recall a story from the Christian bible about an incident in which Jesus the Nazorite comes upon a small child possesed by a thousand demons. Seeing the child was possesed Jesus asked the demons who they were. The demons replied:
"We are Legion for we are many"
I'm not gonna tell the whole story but it ends happy enough I suppose.
Anyhoo considering sliver's attack by the thousands and are quite evil I suppose it reminded me of the story. Not a bad comparison though right?
A thousand demons possesing one child
A thousand slivers in a single body?
I dunno I just figured 'd throw that out there.

boomwolfanubis - I quoted seds' post in mine right under the one you got a warning for.
Hmm, Spark Elemental? That's quasi-iconic? o.O
Well anyways, props to the..one or two people who managed to guess it right!
Also, Carnophage for black was always a long shot, it's the same argument as Lions vs Pup. There's no point in having more than one 2/X creature, because that just makes for a lame cycle for the Blue & Green.
So all we have left is White and Blue..hmm
I keep hoping for Savannah Lions, but if Red is Spark Elemental then who knows what Wizards might pull..maybe..Abu Ja'far!!
Hmm, yeah that's what I thought of at first, but Seds said "quasi-iconic creatures". However, it looks like it's going to be quasi-iconic abilties.
I did have Teardrop Kami on my list at one point, but I chose to put Flying Men on in place, the argument being that White's only 2nd best at flying, so Suntail Hawk might not be appropriate.
I'm not sure if Soul Warden would be that great of a choice though. It would be possible to gain massive amounts of life (well not really =P, just decent amounts) if there were multiple tokens out..
As for your power/toughness boosting idea, I think Savannah Lions just delivers it in a much cleaner package. I wouldn't rule out Icatian Veterans though.

Quasi-iconic = we know the creatures...
I would have said Iconic if they were all of the same level of Llanowar Elves, but not every color has a common one-drop of that nature.
(Also note all three so far are 1 mana commons, so this might hold across the cycle)
As an odd postnote, I hear that one of them 'shapes Metallic Sliver, which means...colorless 'shaper as well? (It's been done - Toymaker)

Hmm..spellshifting Metallic Slivers eh?
6 Card Cycle? I'll still take my Sliver Queens though
Mm and well if all 5 are common creatures, then I'm going to place my money on Suntail Hawk and Teardrop Kami. Well hopefully atleast one of these guys has an activated ability. If not then Llanowars will be odd man out. O.O

so does everybody think this means a jackal pup, savannah lions and carnophage? All these cards are 1cc and 2 power but I think they're not what I could call "Icons."
I say something like:
Shaper of Thorns

We were already told that all the 'shapers shape 1cc creatures, and they have been confirmed to be Llanowar Elves, Spark Elemental, and Festering Goblin. They are not going to shape Akromas, especially since she is legendary for a reason.

Not to mention those cards aren't even spellshapers...
More info...to finally kill the frustrating Akroma speculation...
I was recently informed that something along the lines (meaning 'a 7 mana artifact that gives all creatures you control Akroma's abilities') of the 'Akroma's Memorial' that I posted is what the 'Army of Akromas' is.
More specifically:
Akroma's Memorial
Legendary Artifact
Creatures you control gain Flying, first strike, vigilance, trample, haste, protection from black, and protection from red.
Also, the Jhoria card can 'suspend any card in play'.
Fun.
