Haven't been able to access the novel yet, but zooming out of the pic confimrs the mask for me. Any info on the Urborg denizens and why the art matches the description, caranthir / anyone?
There is a scene where Windgrace blesses and rewards local chief of the native Urborgans. He is described as a black-skinned human with heavy muscular build, a feral look with sharpened teeth, and a great mane of jet black braided hair. If this pic was not clearly a female, I'd immediately say that it is him. Seeing this pic, it is apparently a female member of the tribe, with a skull mask.

I'll give you even odds this is the Savannah Lions shaper. If it isn't it is NOT a cat warrior, it's just a human warrior wearing a panther/lion/something skull.
Slightly better shot of the creature, cropped with the text blotted out...
- we know for a fact that it's female, because it has breasts, a female figure, and it says "a date with this girl" as the caption
- we know it's either white, black, or white/black because it's in the white/black precon
- wielding what looks like a scimitar (possibly two)
The rest is just conjecture, and I haven't got an opinion on that. Seems the two most popular are that it's a cat warrior with dreads, or a human with a cat mask over her face.
I'm going to go with it being a hman with a skull since I can't see a jaw on the bottom of a skull, and I don't think that Wizards would have a jawless cat warroir unless it was on it's deathbed. I can see what might be a hint of a jaw, but it looks too far back to be of the cat skull. Do cat warroirs usually have a darker line alone the centre of their forehead? That implies a skull to me (where the bones fused) and the legs don't look very "catty" to me. I'm open for correction though.
Elspeth "we must fight to protect order and justice!"
Tezzeret "No! he will break all my artifacts and stomp my head!"
Vol "powerful dragon must be brought to heel!"
Ajani "**** this Im outta *planeswalks to lorwyn* wow what hell is this place?"
Little lorwyn goblin "this be the place of bad art and Tribes!!!"
All other Alara planeswalkers "hey where did ajani go???"
I also think that it is indeed a human with a skull of a lion on top (the hair is natural though) which could mean this is the so called creature shaper of savanah lions.
Alternatively I do have to agree that the theory that its actually someone from Urborg makes sense since the main planeswalker from that region was Lord Windgrace who is a was a panther, so maybe his followers are just following his figure.
I thought the weapons she are holding looked a bit like Leonin Scimitars, but she doesn't have the metal bits of a Mirrodin cat warrior. She could be a leonin from the future of Dominaria, though (as wacky as that sounds).
That's exactly what I was thinking, the braids even look kind of Raksha-ish.
Remember people, the creatures of Mirrodin were all taken from other planes with Soul Traps. They then became more metallic.
So if this is not a woman with a skull on her head, it is very likely that it is a Leonin, and that Dominaria is the birthplace of Leonin.
But I find the latter very unlikely, because the Leonin have never been mentioned on Dominaria before.
"If I do go to heaven, I'll smack god across the face and tell him to get me a grilled-cheeses sandwhich and then say 'Yea what now god!? Say some'in! I dare you!' "
Am I the only person who notices that the first post on this thread is by Lesurgo, although the content implies very strongly that it *must* have been in response to the second post, although the time given for each post is utterly contradictory?
What is up with the hair on that picture? Is it natural hair? Is it part of that mask? Is it magical? It's pretty spiky (barbed, IMO) and floaty for natural hair.

when you say refered to, do you mean that its just what us players say or has any Wizards staff member actually said Windgrace is a he, or has it ever been said in a Magic the gathering book that Windgrace is a he, because if its just us players that been saying Windgrace is a he, that could be wrong and Windgrace could be a she.
It was stated a hundred or more times in the books of Invasion and Time Spiral cycle.

Planeswalker's Fury has a picture of Windgrace, who looks NOTHING like the picture of the FS card. I believe that's enough proof that it's not Lord Windgrace.
I have a filling this will be a cat token maker for white. Also this possibly a disendent of Jerith. If so here is what I think it be.
Name ?: 2WW
Legendary Creature: Cat Spellshaper
1W Tap: Discard a card, Put a 2/1 white Cat Soldier token into play.
Tap 3 Untaped Cat Soldiers: Put target creature in your graveyard into your hand and your opponent gains 2 life.
3/2
If that is it I so could play that. This is hoping that is it.
Most cats are pictured with hair on their bodies, and most also with patterns like stripes, spots, etc. This person has neither hair not patterns. Just sayin.

It's a cat warrior.
2 legendary cat warriors in the set + 1 in the novels = this is a cat warrior, not nec a barbarian wearing a cat mask.
I must have missed that one. thank you
