Autocrat is being reprinted? I mean, it would replace Promise in Husk....but do we have confirmation?
Depends on if you believe the auction or not. Here's a closeup (cropped, and rotated, and resized) of one of the black cards in the reprint stack. (left-most card)
Big deal, right? All you can see is fuzzy gray artwork, and the start of the card name. But then, look at Sengir Autocrat...
I am (or was) excited about reprints as a collector if they were to be new template and foil (or if not all foil, at least available in foil), as well as alternate art.
Old template is (IMHO) weak...
The whole reason wotc went with a new template was to make their cards look better and more modern (yes some traditionalists will disagree, and thats fine.)
The foiling of the artwork is a major improvement. Otherwise, its just the same card with a little gloss on the border (= lame)
If these cards are being reprinted for the collector, then it stands to reason the collector will already have the original (and in foil where applicable).
So there will be no reason for me (or another collector) to try and collect them.
Same art
Old Template
Same card I already have in a binder somewhere...(the only exception, assuming all reprints will be available in foil is that in the case of the Mindless Automaton, this will be its first foil printing.)
If these cards are being reprinted so the newer players can have a taste of some of Magic's iconic cards, well these new players probably never even played with old template cards, so they wont care. In fact, they will probably think these reprints look terrible.
If these cards are being reprinted strictly for play value, then it doesnt matter what they look like, so might as well go with the new template for uniformity and to spice things up. (imagine if FNM foils were just reprinted cards on old template with the letters FNM in the text box...weak)
No alternate art? Again, whats the point...Now I actually WILL feel jipped if I open one of these in a booster...At least if it was alternate art, I could say, "ok well thats kinda cool looking".
And they better not be white bordered...
All in all, this developement has turned me right off of this whole reprint thing. Its still alright. But it has been downgraded from "this is freaking awesome!" to, "well thats a neat idea".
But I am still looking forward to the actual TS set. That looks good.
I'll still draft a lot, buy packs, etc etc etc. I am not one of those, "damn you WotC I am quitting magic!!!" people, but I am very dissapointed.
To sum up, from best to worst case scenario.

There are some combinations I didn't include such as white border foils, since that wont happen.
I searched some major and common sources of advance info, and found the same thing Hydro did.
That said, here is some additional information that I was able to see:
The purple cards are in THE OLD CARD FRAME, with original art, and flavor text.
However, they ARE errataed to be more in line with recent cards. Mindless Automaton is now Artifact Creature - Construct, for example.
They have the purple TS symbol, of course.
This is real, and this is crazy.
If nothing else, this confirms the bonus cards are JUST REPRINTS, and will NOT be T2 legal. Thank god. It'll be interesting to see exactly what we get.
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.

The concept is 'chronicles two', remember?
Chronicles didn't do new arts.
This is not doing new arts, costs too much money and would defeat the purpose of a cache of reprints, IMO.
They might still come in foil versions, we don't know yet, but I am assuming they are.
I don't know the reasoning for the old border, but it doesn't bother me really. Doesn't affect the playability.

how can you be so sure? the only other reference you can have is the coldsnap precons but coldsnap itself never had any of the cards that are not legal in T2 on the other hand each booster will have a card of this, so until WOTC says that said bonus cards are NOT legal in T2 we cant really say otherwise (of course we shouldnt become to hopeful either).

If they had their original expansion symbols, I'd be inclined to agree with you. However, with them having the TS expansion symbol, I think it's more likely that they will be legal in T2. It'd be way too confusing to say, "Yes, these cards are in Time Spiral, but no, you can't play them in the same format you can play the rest of the TS cards."
If nothing else, this confirms the bonus cards are JUST REPRINTS, and will NOT be T2 legal. Thank god. It'll be interesting to see exactly what we get.
this is by no means comformation that these cards will not be type 2 legal, to me it sounds like this is an "advanced" core set or chron 2
How does this confirm they will not be T2 legal? I don't follow?
A bit of counting: There appear to be approximately 55-60 cards shown.
A big fat row of commons and dud uncommons (41 are at least partially visible, could be as many as 46)
2 cards are set aside (presumably the rares the seller thinks are valuable).
There is a pile of 7 cards (the second last card is almost exactly buried behind the third, but its border sticks out); possibly particularily good uncommons and less good rares (the artifact creature on top appears to be uncommon).
There are 7 'bonus' cards... and Mindless Automaton's rarity symbol looks somewhat goldish - in fact almost pink.
Conclusion: If this is from 4 boosters, there is more than 1 bonus card per pack and not all bonus cards are rare.
If nothing else, this confirms the bonus cards are JUST REPRINTS, and will NOT be T2 legal. Thank god. It'll be interesting to see exactly what we get.
I just want to be the fifth person to say this...
If a card is pulled from a TS booster, and has a TS symbol, with updated wording on the card, it is legal in everything that TS is legal in.
Why would it be anything different?

I found where this was found at, and its certainly interesting. I would guess that they are standard legal, because usually the rule is "Cards with expansion symbol X are legal in this event" so since Time Spiral will be standard legal, the logical conclusion is that these will as well. But we shall see!

They have the TS symbol. Purple or not, it makes them legal by definition. If they weren't going to be legal, they would reprint FAAAAAR more broken stuff than what we've seen, and they wouldn't have been playtesting them.
Remember the set number? 301? Yeah, that's the number of cards in TIME SPIRAL. The bonus cards are NOT part of TS, they're just being printed now. They'll print more in the next 2 sets, too. This is just a way for players to collect old cards with 'correct' wording.

I don't think the whole "purple" thing is confirmed at all, think about it, all we have is pure rumors, and absolutely no good quality pics with full cards sporting such symbol.
I side with Caranthir believing all this problem arose from the initial 301/422 cards confusion do to a common print sheet of 121 cards which was counted twice, I strongly doubt they'd reprint cards in such a contrived way when they can just pick up some cards they'd really like to bring back and reprint them as Time Spiral cards.
If they do make those reprints I'd be happy if they are T2 playable, if not, I couldn't care less since Extended cards aren't that hard to come by, Vintage is just not my thing (so stupidly expensive)

If that were the case, they would have printed them with their original exp symbols, like they did with the cards in the Coldsnap precons. Since they have the TS symbol, they will be legal in T2.
Exciting news! I'm glad to see confirmation on the purple reprints, at last! I'm a little unimpressed that the cards will be using the old card frames, since I'm a big fan of the new ones, but I suppose it does fit the theme of Time Spiral even more.. I just think the cards would have looked so nice in the new frames! I suppose that'll be forever reserved for FNM, Core and Judge reprints. Regardless, amazing news! For what started out as a lackluster rumour season, things are starting to heat up!
Good job Hydro, Belgareth and RE for keeping us up to date with all the juicy tidbits! This site is once again a healthy distraction from work!!
The last card in the "reprint' pile looks like preacher. After the evangelize column, this might be the 2nd card he was hinting at.
MC
theres no way that last card in the pile is preacher. comparing the 2 at equal size clearly shows its something else...time to gatherer search all white cards pre-mirrodin or wait for R_E as he seems to be doing quite well with them so far

Yes.
Second image is the color I was able to grab from the original image with a dropper tool. Looks purple to me.
