So, we have to come up with a name for this thing. That matches the art and mechanic. Which is ridiculously hard, heh.
Can someone do a mockup of the mechanic, art, and cost on the gold background? Would help with visualizing it.

That's a start on visualization. Though who knows if they'll actually end up picking names that tie the art and mechanic together; their choices have never been consistent with the guidelines the last few promotions like this(the Shock flavor text they picked that was explicitly against the basic guidelines, by being real-world?).
But yeah, my name submission was a semfinalist on the first YMTC("Hand of Creation") so I feel hella compelled to make my name submission a doozy, lol. Very very hard....
And let's put this in bold:
"Mechanic J, while a good mechanic, is not a perfect match for the art. But it is also not a complete disconnect. This is where the name becomes so important. The name has to tie the whole card together. It needs to capture a concept that explains the mechanic while also making sense of the art."
Remember that bit, people :-). I'll edit in whatever I come up with later...we cna use this thread to brainstorm directions to go in and whatnot. My brain is going to hurt after this...
that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
This is actually making my brain spasm and fart and schtuffs.
The problem is ... the way the card is worded ... it could be a token killer ... it could be a "Second Shot Ball Lightning Saving Cantrip of doom" ... as well as other things ...
The fact that it's WHITE and BLUE makes me want to stab mysef in the eye .. because it's card to think what I should name it.
Whispers of the Muse (for the name of it and the way the name affects this artwork, not so much for the effect)
Greater Good (This is the one thing in my mind that keeps preventing me from making a good name ... I'm dreaming of using this card in a Greater Good deck)
The concept is that you, the mage, are standing over your battlefield ... and you see a creature.
You send the creature into some other dimension, and somehow you BENEFIT from it ... as though unlocking this dimension allows some sort of "muse" to open up your mind to new options. Inspiration, Whispers of the Muse, and other card drawing spells usually imply that you're getting more options, or you're "seeing" these new options ...
When the creture comes back the next turn ... the "portal" by which it came ... now closes ... hence the "loss of options" or the discarding. Don't think of it as "drawing and discarding" think of it as "gaining knowledge and options" and "losing knowledge and options" ...
So in summation:
You open a portal.
You throw a creature through the portal.
Something comes through the portal that in turn, gives you a "rush of knowledge"
The creature comes back later. In turn, you "lose the knowledge".
The portal closes.
Some wonder why I carry 8 decks on me. The answer? I get tired of being boarded against in casual games, and 90% of the players I meet can't beat a jank deck I made to be tokens for a serious one.
the first thing that popped into my head was Displace, but it doesn't tie the art too well, so some kind of displacing wind or such, I want like a breeze but a stronger word for breeze... any suggestions?

I don't know... plain old "displacement" sounds good enough to me. I mean, MaRo is asking an awful lot from us with this name thing. I say, simple is best.
New Rules come out for 1999 6th Edition... "THEY'RE TURNING MAGIC INTO PORTAL! THE GAME IS RUINED! EVERYONE PETITION AND GET THEM TO CHANGE IT BACK!"
New Rules come out for 2010 Edition... "THEY'RE TURNING MAGIC INTO YU-GI-OH! THE GAME IS RUINED! EVERYONE PETITION AND GET THEM TO CHANGE IT BACK!"
New Rules come out for *Reserved for something in 2020* "THEY'RE TURNING MAGIC INTO *currently "simple" game by the more "skilled" players*! THE GAME IS..." etc.
I'm gonna get myself a playset of each of these and wear them around my neck all around campus. The ladies will be all like 'Ooohh.....is that a....Boros Garrison you're wearing?!?!'. I'd be all like.....hells yes.
I went with Exfiltrate. I figure a one word verb would be a nice way to show the card off. And I think it's partially a tie in with the art and ability... she could be making mist to run away to fight another day. Right? Please? =P
Too bad it's not very in-flavor. It'd be much better as a black name. Though I suppose you could go crazy in blue. Maybe even white. We'll see. Anyway, I thought it was a fun play on words.

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
The idea was, in one moment, you saw something. The next, it was gone. Then, it was back again. But, in that moment of clarity, you saw what could be, and new ideas began to stir.
My main problem, though, is that the card's ability doesn't fit with the artwork. Well, we did vote for this, right??

Cards that immediately come to mind are:

You send the creature into some other dimension, and somehow you BENEFIT from it ... as though unlocking this dimension allows some sort of "muse" to open up your mind to new options. Though, the fact that there are no actual mirrors in the art might be a strike against me.
Oh, well! Hard as $%#&!!!

Temporal Dust
Fits part being blue and the second part being white like.
For some resone I wanted to use something with time in it (I was thinking of Time Mist so if someone want to stuff that in go on).
Gazarsgo's Plow
Essentially, some poor creature just became your guinea pig.

LOL @ Cocaine!
It is a magical concept that fits the art and ability perfectly to me. It also matches up with one previous use of "Astral" in magic.
