The reminder text for trample gets me. It implies that you have to give all damage to creatures first. What I mean is if they block with a 7/7 and a 1/1 no trample damage goes through the way reminder text reads but you can just put the 8 on the 1/1 to get 7 trample.

The reason I play black according to CrovaxtheCursed:
to get by the steep upkeep cost, just play FoN with Spirit Link... provided you can survive the 8 damage a turn it deals to you (but since youre smashing face with an 8/8 trampler each turn, it shouldnt be a problem)...
however, since most people despise local enchantments, then they just have to deal with the upkeep costs their way
Loxodon Warhammer does the job as well, AND puts them on a 2-turn clock...
"If this creature would deal enough combat damage to its blockers to destroy them, you may have it deal the rest of its damage to defending player."
I think it's pretty clear that you have to assign at least lethal damage to each of the blockers before you can assign rollover damage; what it isn't clear on is a situation like:
Force of Nature blocked by 1/1.
Possible damage assignments according to reminder text:
1 to 1/1, 7 to defending player
8 to 1/1, 0 to defending player
According to the rules, you can also assign as follows:
2 to 1/1, 6 to defending player
3 to 1/1, 5 to defending player
...
7 to 1/1, 1 to defending player
However, I think we must remember that the comprehensive rules regarding trample fill a printed page or more, and they did a damned good job condensing the important bits into a single sentence.

okay, they went back and cleaned up the rules on trample. I remember when blocked by more than one creature you could put all damage on one and then do trample damage. Now the rules say you can still put all damage on one creature but trample won't go through unless all creatures take full damage.

The reason I play black according to CrovaxtheCursed:
I don't know if this was known information, but the local store that is running a 9E event said they got in 10 deck boxes (for the new player promotion), so if you are bringing a new player to the event, I guess be sure to try to get there early to guarantee you get a box (the new player + the person that brought them get a box, so they have enough product for 5 new players)
