no reminder text for upkeep!
That's because "upkeep" isn't keyworded, it's just an ability that mentions the upkeep step in it. Like "at the beginning of your draw step..." wouldn't have reminder text either. It's just a step. If it said "Upkeep: GGGG." then it would have reminder text.
does bringing yourself to the release get you a deckbox? or would i have to bring my freind and he me?

if you are ever being chased by a police dog, try not to run through a tunnel, then over a little see-saw, then jump through a ring of fire. theyre trained for that

Sad that that reminder text makes the interaction with protection seem more confusing than ever. Good thing the only thing with protection is paladin en-vec and all the tramply stuff is green.
Hey R_E, you missed Phyrexian Arena !!! But it doen't matter
Woops, I didn't even know that existed! Thanks for correcting me. Reminder text to tell you when to do your upkeep, who would have thought.
What I actually meant was that there isn't reminder text for Upkeep as a keyword. Phyrexian Arena has reminder text for when the upkeep step is. But yeah I see what you mean.
Actually, I think the word "would" takes care of that. Imagine that you block my Rootbreaker Wurm with your Paladin en-Vec on which Mind Bend has been used to change "black" to "green". The reminder text makes it clear that if I want to deal some Wurm damage to you, I need to assign 2 damage to the Knight. This amount of damage would destroy the Knight, but then his protection from green ability prevents that damage. However, you still take 4.
Actually, I think most noobs will be thinking more along the lines of:
"If it would be destroyed then you take trample damage"
"How's it gonna be destroyed? It's got protection. The damage is prevented."
"Good Point"
What needs to be explained is that protection doesn't come into play until damage has already been assigned and is being dealt (and prevented).
So what if they play it wrong as long as they have fun. The noobs will go to a tournament one day or play in a game with people who know the rules and they will be instructed in the correct ruling.

reminds me of when i was new...i had a bird deck with soulcathcers arie and phantom flocks...i didn't know that the damage was still prevented when there wasn't a counter on it...
anyways...my point is that i would have had more fun if i knew about that combo...just because your new dosn't mean you dont want to know all the rules...

doesn't wizards' site say that the entry fee shouldn't be over $20?

You should call the shop you plan on going to and find out from them...WotC's reccommendations don't really hold much weight if the owners need more to cover their costs and have some profit, too.
I could see FoN getting played in Green Beats after Mirrodin rotates. After all, once RAV comes out, Green will have Llanowar Elves, Birds of Paradise, Utopia Tree, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Kodama's Reach, and Rampant Growth. That's a LOT of mana acceleration, and it makes 6 mana not seem so bad.

to get by the steep upkeep cost, just play FoN with Spirit Link... provided you can survive the 8 damage a turn it deals to you (but since youre smashing face with an 8/8 trampler each turn, it shouldnt be a problem)...
however, since most people despise local enchantments, then they just have to deal with the upkeep costs their way

They only put reminder text on cards in the Core Set, unless they're abilities newly introduced in expert expansions, then that reminder text only hangs around for that block, or sometimes just the first set in the block.
The symbol is IDENTICAL to the one on the foil threaten, which is, of course, also real.
Nice.

I wondered about that too. Because if it is then it's a new DCI number for me.;)
Also that card is flipping sweet.
That FoN looks sweet, btw.

The 8th Edition Promo Rukh Egg didnt have a date either, so I dunno if they put dates on the core set promos.
2 words. Loxodon Warhammer. GG.
Its not a bad combo for just being 9th and one colour/artifact.
Oh, that promo is AWSOME. I cant wait to get it. I think its the first promo i have really wanted for AGES.
I wonder if we are actually gonna get the deck boxes here in Aus...
they only put dates on pre-release cards. this b a release card.
